Ive been going to this Jo-Anns since I moved to the area over a year ago. Its the first Jo-Anns Ive been to that I actually like (Im more of a Michaels gal) because all the others Ive been to were miniscule and dark. This one is enormous and has a huge selection of basically everything. I love being able to browse at length without having to deal with bumping into or working around people. Like the other reviewers said, its horribly understaffed. Im pretty sure that all the staff in the building at any one time might just be enough to man all the cash registers. The store is clearly designed to deal with a lot of customers. I think that once the huge field across the street is built up, there will be a lot more staff, but for now it can be kind of annoying to get help. Like other reviewers, I also found the lines to get fabric cut could take forever. However, except for once when I came in on my lunch break, Ive never had to wait long at the registers. The place is usually mostly empty. What bothers me most about this place is that most of the staff is concentrated in the fabric/sewing corner, and there seems to be no one who regularly services the arts and crafts part (the other 75% of the store). When Ive needed something that wasnt sewing related, Ive been met with some pretty terrible service. Ive asked for normal craft products and been met with stares of bewilderment and told that they dont even carry that product, just to find it myself after exhaustive searching. One time I wanted to get something framed. I stood by the framing counter pressing the buzzer for 10 minutes before a customer walked by and told me there was usually no one working back there and no one would hear the buzzer. I found someone who worked there and they didnt even know when their framer would be in. I ended up getting my picture framed at Michaels.

I go to this fabric store all the time, because they have a decent selection and theyre within 5 minutes from my house. However, if there were any other place where I could get the same item, without driving across town, I would go there. I have *never*, regardless of the time of day, been to this store that there wasnt a 30 to 45 minute wait at the cutting table. The lines at the register are similarly long; expect to spend another 10-20 minutes here depending on the day. The one time I phoned the store to ask if I could special order something (the customer service rep for the website said I could call the local store to order), told me I would have to come into the store to place the order, no exceptions, despite having been told they did take telephone orders. She didnt seem very concerned when I pointed this out, and wasnt the most polite person Ive ever spoken to. With that said, I continue to shop here, simply because theyre local and have what I need.

Ive been to a few of the local Jo-Anns and this one is by far my favorite due to its size and selection. I shop here primarily for paper crafts and found the others to have a limited selection of such. If you are into any type of crafting, this is the store I would recommend. Like the others have said, it is understaffed. If you need help finding something it may take a while. The checkout line is usually rather long as well. Not the best place to go if you are in a hurry. I have never experienced any rudeness from the staff. The few times I asked for help finding something or asked if they could check the stock room the staff has always been very pleasant and helpful. I like this store cause you can kind of loose yourself in your craft. Not crowded (shoppers or staff) and a huge selection. Its very peaceful.

I went here two afternoons in a row, and each time there was a line six deep for fabric-cutting. Everyone in the line had many bolts of fabric, so it was taking a long time with each customer. Even though the store has plenty of counter space to accommodate many fabric cutting employees, each time I went there was only one woman working. I watched her demeanor towards the customer she was helping, and she was neither friendly nor fast-moving. I was really discouraged and left empty-handed each time. I also had questions about what type of thread to buy, and I could never find anyone to help me, even though I wandered the aisles looking for assistance for several minutes. This is the worst fabric store I have ever been to.

I dont ever want to say to not go somewhere based on my experience BUT be forewarned. The employees are truly rude and have no or very little knowledge. I starting crafting again last summer after many years of not and decided to treat myself to some product. I went to Jo-anns and asked the lady, not girl, stocking the shelves if she could direct me to a specific hair clip she did not bother to look at me and just spoke from the back of her head that they did not have any. I proceeded to go through the aisles until I found what I was looking for. I went back to the lady and told her what aisle they were in and what the product was. She gave me a blank look and proceeded with her work.

There is a manger or supervisor or whomever she is. Her name is SHannon B. She is the most cruel, unprofessional person Ive seen in my life. Ive never hurt anyone in my life, but I cant believe the feeling of wanting to spit on her face rises in me.It happend last Xmas for her ill behavior towards her employees when they inquire anything from her to help customers. It happened again this OCt 2011. She spoke to an elder employee like she was 2 yrs old. I cant believe she still is allowed to work there. Someone needs to fire her THIS MINUTE! THIS STORE HAS TERRIBLE SERVICE DUE TO HER ATTITUDE! IT RUINES EVERY EMPLOYEES MOOD & MOTIVATION

If youre a DIYer, this is where you want to come for fabric. I came here to pick up some lining for the inside of my dresser doors. I also bought 2.5 yards of clear vinyl sheet to wrap my wooden dining room table. Its easier to clean food and nice to see the original wood material. I didnt have a heat gun laying around so I took a hairdryer and went over it in partitions to flatten and mold the vinyl to the surface of the table. It came out looking great. Pull up the website on your cell phone to see if they have any coupons. I got 40% off one item by scanning the Barcode off my phone.

This is a huge store and has lots of selection which is great, but it is horribly understaffed. This means you can never find a person to help you, and the lines for fabric cutting are out. of. control. They typically have only one person cutting, which is awful as people need many cuts. Ive never experienced such a low level of staff at a fabric store. I guess theyre trying to save money on the labor expense, but honestly it drove me away. The one on Harbor Blvd in Costa Mesa is smaller but better run.
