I started looking at cars online with CarMax, and felt they had a nice selection of late-model vehicles. Id seen a car that I liked and I had it transferred from Bakersfield to the Fresno Carmax.. no charge. Within 30 minutes, I had a phone call from the salesman asking me a few questions and letting me know the procedure for the vehicle to be transferred. They kept me informed on the transfer time as to when the vehicle was leaving and was arriving. I made an appointment to take a look at the vehicle, once it arrived. Upon seeing the vehicle, I was a little bit disappointed due to the fact the vehicle wasnt detailed! However the vehicle was how they described it with the low mileage and in very good condition. I pointed out some things that I would like to have taken care of and the salesman was going to check and get back to me. A few days later the salesman called me and told me it would not be possible to get any further discounts and there were other vehicles that I can select from if I wanted to choose something different. I decided to go back up and take another look at the vehicle that was transferred. Once I got there, they couldnt find a vehicle, and then realized that it was slightly damage while on the lot. So I never did get to see the vehicle a second time. The salesman told me they would take care of it and that they would have a detailed and I could take another look at it and we can go from there. After another week, I went back up to take a look at the vehicle and found out the vehicle had never been detailed didnt even really look like it had been washed. Obviously they werent willing to do anything...Very disappointing to say the least!!! So now not only was the vehicle never detailed, it had slight damage. On my fourth trip to Carmax, hopefully to see the vehicle detailed and ready to go, again very disappointing very little had been done to it. The vehicle is what I wanted and had low mileage, it was in very good condition and was priced decent. So I took the vehicle, and just decided it is what it is, they just dont care. I was still getting a decent vehicle and had 30,000 mile warranty left. The salesman was very pleasant, but I didnt feel anything was done in order to make you feel like you got a good deal. I paid their asking price, and got nothing more. They state no-haggle, however I know I go to any other dealership and every car on the lot will be detailed to the max. I really like the car, Im just disappointed in Carmax and how things were handled. They did tell me that I can come back up and have a little touch up done at a no charge on couple of minor scratches. I guess Carmax feels that they have enough business they can just sell cars.. I never felt like it was a happy experience!!!

I dont usually get frustrated about any service and I am loving Carmax FRESNO from the day I bought my car. But yesterdays experience with Ms. Dani W. was not nice. She sounded like a pessimistic person. She probably just doesnt like me or shes having a bad day (tho its 8 am only). I asked if I can get a loaner vehicle and she first said that they dont do it, I am sure that any dealership would have this benefit as standard, so I reconfirmed. I appreciate that she suggested on using their shuttle service, but its not beneficial for me at the moment. After couple minutes she said, its ok they can give me a loaner but they have to confirm if my insurance covers it. I had new insurance and it doesnt cover unfortunately so she told me to just wait in waiting area for my service. I approached her again and then I ask about what coverage that carmax needs to get a loaner just to try if I can change the policy, but she just didnt give me a single information and tell me to just call the insurance. So later that afternoon, she called to say the result of diagnosis and so she told me that the noise at the rear seats was occurring only when theres no one sitting there, but if theres someone sitting there then the noise is gone so no fix required. I insist and told them that how come they found a problem but they dont want to try and fix it? I might have offended them by any chance. but the car is in a "30 day warranty". She told me stuff like well you got a second hand car and that car is made with cheap plastic all around. I told to myself, if this is how you talk to your customer then I personally believe you are not qualified as customer service adviser. But I just said its OK because I dont want to talk to her anymore. The guy who works there that dropped me off was cool (Eddie). He told me that 30 day warranty can fix scratches and water spots as well. So I told her that the car has scratches and spots when you look closely. She quickly glanced it with the manager and found nothing. Of course you wont find anything. So I point out the spots where the water spots are and the scratches. She told me theres nothing they can do about it because if they buff it, it will remove the clear coat from the car. Well, I know for sure that if you dont do it properly you will remove the clear coat. I buffed my car before. So she said they will set an appointment and call me in the afternoon to set up an appointment about the scratches. But Ms. Dani W. never called me back. I would have gave CarMax a 5 star without her.

Overall the experience was good. Our helper Alexis was awesome! She walked us through everything and helped us make sure to ask all the right questions. From there Im not sure who to blame but someone was not honest with us. It is a used car dealer but when asked they should be upfront so there is no problems later. The van is great and we did get it at great price. We had it transferred from a Reno Carmax to Fresno. Prior to the transfer we asked if there was any major issues with paint, interior, motor and transmission and were told none. Paid for the transfer and got the van a week later. Looked great but had a lot of white powdery residue under the hood and in all the crevices around the van. We asked about it right away and were told it was the compound they use to clean the vehicle. Well we brought it home on a rainy day, and it rained for a week after, so during a break in the rain I take it to get washed at a hand carwash and when it comes out there is swirl marks all over the car. There are no machines at this carwash so I am wondering how that could have happened, I speak to the owner and she tells me it was due to buffing not a carwash. She tells me that is more than likely the reason for the powdery stuff that was still visible under the hood and in the door jams, someone wanted to cover up the problems and when I washed it I removed the wax they used. I did nothing with this van other than wash it 1 time in the 2 weeks I had it. She told me I should not have to pay to fix it since more than likely it either happen at Carmax or they covered it prior to Fresno getting it. Fresno Carmax did their best to fix it but the marks are still visible and because it is black it is clearly noticeable. So if you purchase a vehicle here wash it right away to ensure there is no paint damage.
