Its not just a bookstore with a large cafe that you can order Starbucks drinks. It has a huge childrens area (0 to teens in terms of books, toys, stuffed animals, an area for Storytime (held on some Thursdays and most Saturday mornings), music and DVD area that also sells a good selection of records (33 1/3), Toys and Games (LEGOS, STEM, Craft Kits, Licensed Merchandise - Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc.), pre-K to elementary school educational materials), Magazine and Newspaper area, small gifts, their Nook. If you need help or have a question you have to go to Customer Service area. There isnt any staff on the floor. My only issue is that this store is filled with so much stuff, its hard to walk around in some aisles because either there are tables full of stuff or boxes stacked from the floor up. You have to look up towards the ceiling to see the signage for each of the departments because of how much stuff is either stacked up on tables or the rows of shelves are pretty tall. It was hard to get to the register area to pay because the aisles around that area are very narrow and cluttered with stuff. Can be difficult if you use a wheelchair or push a stroller. There is free wifi throughout the store. During the weekends the store is crowded and finding parking can be challenging. You will circle around because Barnes & Noble is just one of the many big box stores and chain restaurants in the massive Hacienda Crossings shopping complex. And this is the only B&N in the Tri-Valley Area - sad when they closed the Walnut Creek location years ago.

Good memories of reading actual books. I have fully converted to reading my books digitally but when we came here to find a gift for a wedding (cause who wants to unwrap a digital download giftcard?) I was reminded of how much easier it is and more fun to browse the store and be able to pick up a book and read the back and thumb through it before deciding if its worth reading. When buying digitally you have to either just trust the author because you already read something of theirs you liked or you have to read the reviews and hope no one ruins it with spoilers. I like this particular store and have had good experiences here though at the moment the holiday shopping is insane. I try to avoid ANY store of any kind right now if I can.

I dislike their "starbucks" area in the store. I know theyre separate from starbucks, so Ill give them a review as a whole. I was asked to leave by a middle age women that had dark blond hair and glasses to buy an item or I had to leave. I guess buying books for classes totaling 60 dollars doesnt count. If you have a policy, make sure to tell everyone about it and not just tell one person about it. The guy next to me didnt have to leave because he had on a suit, tie, and was using a mac book computer, but I had to leave because I had a sweater, jeans, and backpack. Oh yeah, and those books that I bought. Thanks a lot!

The book section is fine but I swear the cafe workers cant even get one thing right BEWARE LONG STORY but I asked for a double chocolate chip with extra Java chips with no whip and they gave me a Java frappucino and when I said this is wrong they basically said it was my fault ?! And then they ask whip or no whip I say no whip and the troll gives me whip ? They were so rude all the way through it if I could review only Starbucks i would give them 1 star only because you cant give them none

This location is very clean and organized. Its a very relaxing place to visit, regardless of the weather or time. They have a very broad selection of books for customers to choose from. The cafe within the store is also ideal if youd like some food or a nice beverage. I highly recommend this Barnes & Noble location. Five stars.

One of the few remaining B&N around. They have almost any book/magazine you could want. What stood out to me was the environment; its really relaxed and ideal place to study or read. (go figure!) Inside there is also a Starbucks with plenty of seats. The books arent cheap so be prepared so spend a bit if you go here.

Nice place. My wife and I go to the coffee shop area that looks like and serves Starbucks. Its one of the few places open until 11pm, which is great for date nights if you have kids. Lots of good desserts. Sometimes the tables are dirty and the workers try to close before there are closed.

The Disneyland of book browsing. Join their club. It pays for itself. Yes, I buy ebooks but some types you want to hold in your hands e.g. Cookbooks Poetry books. Plus they sell music CDs and LPs. No, I dont listen to MP3 or other compressed music formats.

They dont seem to care much about customer service. Difficult to find someone to help and long waits for checkout. Theyve even built a wall between the registers and line so the clerks dont have to see their customers. Why not give my business to Amazon?

Seems so old school to have a bookstore now. The digital era has taken over so its nice to see a few Barnes still opened with a beating heart. Magazines a plenty and books a plenty. They even have cute toy selections now.

Awesome magazine section... I was actually able to find one I really liked - Cinema Editor. Woo Hoo! All kidding aside this place is like an oasis now as all the major bookstores have gone away.

One of the few left in the area and one of the best! Barnes and Noble is the best place to spend a quiet day off, shop for gifts, take a date, get lost and lose yourself in the world of books...

Steve at the register was the best! Efficient, friendly, extremely accommodating, and kind to fault, he made the long drive totally worth it. Would vote for him if he ran for President 2020.

Always love to come here and hang out in the cafe for a while while checking for the latest issues of magazines. Picked up two more Hugo Award finalist books today!

Love this book store. One of the last in the area not to leave out independent book stores. Very large selection you should be able to find what you want.

Staff very eager to assist, and not pressure or rush you. I purposely buy books from this store and not online because of the friendly approachable staff.

Decent place; they dont have everything, but its nice and quiet, and the staff is helpful. Prices are a little high. This is not a location with alcohol.

Great place to go with kids, to get books, to have a meeting. It is usually quiet. Making it a trip with the kids to sit and read it a nice experience.

Nice place to browse and check out new books. There is ample parking. One star docked for B&N not even matching their own web prices when prompted.

Pretty good barnes and noble. No complaints really, besides the annoying policy on starbucks giftcards not working in the attached cafe.
