This is one of my families anchor stores. We dont go here ever week, but without it our pantry and meals wouldnt be as good. This place saved me from pulling my hair out in the local grocers "ethnic food" isle and having to drive out to Oakland to cook a variety of foods at home. They bill themselves as a global Asian foods supermarket, and its really super. The green isles are full of the average foods and things you wont find in your average market (Im crazy for still-in-the-rind Lychee nuts, and when they are in season you can find them here). The seafood counter spans about half one of the long walls and has tanks high enough that the staff need ladders to get inside. This is where we buy our crab when it is in season, they have mountains of it and handle the crowds that gather around very well. It doesnt hurt that they have very reasonable prices. They can also clean and do some basic preparation on the seafood as well if you need them too. They have a great hot food counter. Ducks hanging in the window along with ribs and pork along with the steam treys of pork buns and other delish foodstuffs. Just this evening I picked up a variety of things from frozen to a hot half duck and a pound of their house special roast pork (oh wow is that good) and put together our own Dim Sum dinner at home for the family (three of the four burners were steaming layers of somethings). The staff have always been friendly and helpful. Ive had to ask quite a few questions over the last few years (primarily "can you tell me what this is?" and sometimes followed by "great, can you tell me what it says about preparation?"). I have hope that one of these days Google Translate via photograph will actually work reliably, but until then the staff at Ranch 99 have been willing to help this Grizzly Adams impersonator along.

Almost all of the employees are very rude. They will not help you find an item within the store if asked. Theyll act as if they dont speak English just to avoid providing help. I ask the employee for help finding a specific tea, but to no avail. His response to me was I dont know and I dont care. My reply to him was excuse me, what did you say again? His response to me was I dont care! It was at that point when I made the decision to leave the store without spending and that would be my final visit to a place where I cannot receive any help at all via the employees. The first time I came here I tried to overlook the rudeness, but after asking for help from several staff members yesterday and being told flat out that they dont care about helping me I made a conscious decision to never go back there again. I would suggest that if you could find the items that you need elsewhere then do so and save yourself the headache and heartache of dealing with very rude people.

You have to love 99 Ranch Market. Where else can you find a store that will sell you almost any type of seafood your heart desires, next to freshly cooked dim sum, and Japanese snacks. I go here often when I feel a hankering for some sushi grade fish and I cannot make it to a Japanese grocer. My family will often shop here for great deals on seafood and their selection is always surprisingly price competitive. The store itself is a hybrid between a typical American grocer and a Chinese market, with occasional demos offering taste tests of new products and no-nonsense fish mongers asking you what you want in broken English. Of course this is all part of the charm of 99 Ranch. Check them out for your shopping needs.

A lot of variety of food products as always with 99 Ranch Market. However, I think it needs to be tidy up a little bit. Vegetables & fruit looked fresh. A bit pricey than other Chinese markets. I wanted to buy fish paste and the one that I usually buy from other Chinese Market looked dry on the edge, and didnt look fresh. I had to buy the other kind that look more fresh. 99 Ranch Market supposes to be a upscale Chinese Market, it should be kept more clean and tidy. I prefer going to the one in Warm Spring. Much better shopping experience.

Of course they are great for finding things necessary for Chinese cooking, and their selection of vegetables, meat, fish (especially fish!), and bottled things is wonderful for this purpose. I wish, however, that they had more Thai ingredients and brands. And while their vegetable selection is excellent, I found that their vegetables are not the freshest, as they spoil more quickly than vegetables I buy at other places.

Typical bay area Asian grocery store. There is live seafood from crabs, lobsters, shrimp to more unique and seasonal items like crawfish and uni. They also serve hot foods at a reasonable prices. The real downside is the parking lot, it can be difficult to find a spot during peak hours.

The dimsum bar didnt have some of the basics (no black bean spareribs) and the food was cold. The price cant be beat though. Will probably come back for the other sections though (hot food/bbq). Smaller than other 99s but it has the basics.

Pretty standard for a 99 Ranch. I didnt have any problems, and they had everything I needed. I like to come here for their thinly sliced meats, and the seafood at this particular location is also really great! No rotten fish smells.

The steam tables offer cheap eats. The fish selection is pretty good. If you are looking for offal there is a good choice including hard to find things like pig snout. The packaged good choices are ok but other Ranch 99 have better.

Love the produce selection and fresh meat choices. The cakes from the bakery are amazing and worth the price they ask. The dim sum is always fresh and some of the best I have enjoyed on a long time.

This locations meat dept is repulsive. Try smelling your hand after holding their packed meat, wet rag drenched stench for a yard. I wouldnt handle it let alone feed it to my family. Disgraceful.

Cheap price. Fresh sea food, however, the seafood counter sometimes get VERY busy, and there can be many people standing by either waiting to pick their fish or get their fish cleaned.

My wife is Korean, so we visit 99 Ranch Market fairly often. They have a good selection, the prices are reasonable, and the store is kept clean. The place to go for Asian products.

They do have a great selection but I wont be coming back after I had food poisoning from eating the crab I purchased from them at the Dublin CA location on 11/29/2015.

Oakland Chinatown-lite without the drive and better parking. The produce may need to be picked through and isnt always the best looking but the price is right.
