If I could give les than a star, I would. My boyfriend and I were here a month ago. We were both wandering, looking at books. My bf asked about a book and was chatting about an author he likes with the young woman ady the counter. A woman (who turned out to be the owner) was walking out the door when she turned around and loudly demanded that my boyfriend stop talking to her employee, saying she needed to get back to work and didnt have time to chat. Everyone was baffled. My boyfriend was shocked & embarrassed and so were her employees who looked at eachother like "WTF?" they apologized for her and I felt sorry for them but after that we set the books down that we were gonna buy and left. She had absolutely no reason to treat someone that way. This store will not get any of our business.

I was speaking to an employee she had 150.00 worth on the counter for me and this owner came down some stairs and let her dogs scratch my sandaled feet. when she did not ask about the scratches I was rubbing I left the store. what has come over these animal lovers, you are a business owner.

I love going to the Avid Reader especially because of the wind audiobook :-( oh and how like someone of a two-story building like they have kids section and they have like the regular sections and then sometimes like maybe once a month I will have like the seminar the bringer author to the to the place and introduce you to the book its like a book club thing

Felt crowded. And for a hometown bookstore it did not have the hometown feel. There is no place to really sit and read, or to do a book signing. Selection is pretty standard, although I do like how they organize it by subgenres.
