You put a quarter into a slot in the shopping cart to release the cart and when you put it back you get your quarter back. No carts in the parking lot. Imagine that. The food is good quality and inexpensive. I got some Deutshe Kuche braunschweiger for abou 2 dollars some Savoritz wheat crackers for about 1 dollar and some aged New York sharp cheddar cheese for about 2 dollars it went perfectly together. Some non-food items were over-priced I noticed. Inexpensive food and delicious imports.

Glad this place finally arrived in Bakersfield. Good selection of quality products at decent prices. And they have a good amount of organic & gluten free food here too. I dig their business model of cutting costs where unnecessary & passing the savings on to the customers. You bag your own groceries here. Also, be sure to bring a quarter to get your shopping cart (which you get back when you bring your cart back to the front of the store).

Excellent customer service! Staff is very kind and helpful. Store presentation is very nice. I especially like how neat and clean as well as visually appealing the arrangement of the store is. Epically great prices and a wider variety of groceries to choose from. Ive lived in Cali for the past 11 years and missed shopping at Aldi because they had no stores in this state. Its been a long time coming!! Im glad to give Aldi my business.

Jason Hart, CEO of Aldi said in a company press release that the new store to be built in Porterville will give customers what they want- and included "antibiotic-free" meat. First: ALL meat sold in grocery stores is antibiotic free. Second that clueless statement was a slap in the face to all the local families in the Porterville area and Bakersfield who raise beef. Way to bring in the customers Jason!

I dont carry cash, so in order to get a cart - you put a quarter into a device that releases a chain to unhook a cart. I carried the few items I bought, limited what I picked up - luckily found the 99 cent store had better prices and better selection of produce that day - and I was able to get a cart at the 99 cent store.

This a great grocery store that has a Trader Joes type of atmosphere, but at very reasonable prices. The off brand food really does taste just as well as its name brand counterparts, and they always have local promotions that give great deals on their food items.

Love it prices are great for my budget, u have to pay for a basket to shop and get the quarter back when u return the cart no more broken baskets or stranded ones in the neighbor hood, very clean rest rooms and wheelchair ability oh fri3ndly too

Yea its great prices but bad products i brought a ham from here & we cooked it ate it & it got my wife and son sick went to da doctors & thy said thy had gotten food poisoning never again will i shop there...

This is a great store to stop at BEFORE your regular shopping. They have great prices on items, only problem is most are not there after a couple more trips. So it is great for trying new things at bargins.

I just love going to Aldi! The prices are amazing the staff is awesome and they accept SNAP benefits which is just the icing on the cake. You can find anything from salmon steak to wine here.
