This shop is the best example of what we would loose if we only patronize on-line or big box stores - a small specialized shop with totally knowledgeable and very friendly owner/shopkeepers. And, their prices are just as good or better than those big-box or on-line stores! Ive been coming here for years, buying racquets, shoes, balls and of course, re-stringing, which is always very fast. If youre looking for a new racquet, you pay $5 to try out each one but everything you spend is credited to the price of whatever racquet you purchase (I tried over a dozen before I bought my current sticks). Whomever is in the shop is always very generous with advice thats useful to beginners or experienced players. And parking is always easy and free!

Plaza Tennis & Sports is a great shop, excellent variety with great prices. They recommended strings and got my racket ready to go in just a day. I absolutely love my racket. Johns work is excellent, the consistency of stringing is solid. Hes very knowledgeable too. Hell recommend strings based on what youre looking for. Everyone is at Plaza Tennis & Sports is friendly and very professional. They go the extra mile for you and the prices are very fair. I highly recommend the shop to any racket sports enthusiast.

These guys are simply the best. Their prices are tremendous but what you might not get elsewhere is their incredible knowledge on everything from tennis elbow to changing racquets to anything else under the sun. Also, they are fun to talk to and always very helpful. I will not shop anywhere else nor will I use Tennis express for anything. Go local. Plus they have very flexible hours. And parking is super easy.

I walked in here not sure of what I would find. I thought Id stop here to look at racquets before I went to Sports Basement, or logged on to Amazon. They had a pretty good selection and amazing deals. I got my racquet for $90 including strings and free tennis balls instead of $130 that Amazon wanted to charge. You never find that in a small, local shop! Really friendly and helpful service too.

Plaza Tennis is a great shop. Not only do they know their stuff, they are friendly and fair. Ive bought racquets and have them restrung several times. They record my string tension and have the best recommendations for string types and combinations. In addition, theres a cool gift shop right next door.

Worth the extra drive from so berkeley to get my racquets strung here. Owner operated place, guy knows his stuff, keeps your preferences, and has competitive prices. Sometimes you can get it strung same day without a rush charge if he isnt too busy.

We brought our rackets in to get strung and they got them back to us the same day. Prices were as low as any we have used. We also bought tennis shoes that were as cheap as any we have seen. Great service, good place.

Went in yesterday to shop for a racquet. He was able to string it in 45 minutes and was really helpful with all kinds of tennis racquet information. Thanks for the great service.

John, the owner, is very knowledgeable and helpful. The equipment is carefully selected and competitively priced. This is the best place to buy all of your tennis gear.

Small shop but good stuff. Went for stringing tennis rackets, just one person/owner so wait time could be more.
