I recently took my yorkie to be groomed at the petsense in Pine Bluff, I routinely purchase her food from them and the staff is usually friendly and helpful so I didnt think twice about having Ella groomed there as well. I had previously taken her there before and had her trimmed and bathed, I was pleased with the price and that she smelled incredible..Now that its summer and the weather is warm I wanted to get her a full groom done in the traditional yorkie style and nails clipped as well. I couldnt contact them for an appointment due to their phones not working so I went up there not feeling like there would be a problem since it was only a little after 1:00pm and they advertise walk ins are welcome. I arrived and the groomer mentioned their phones were down so my dog was her only client for the day..when I explained to her what I wanted she immediately tried to discourage me from doing a full groom and said she wanted to just give Ella a bath and trim ..I insisted on what I wanted and she said she would "try"...she then instructed me to hold Ella down so she could clip her toe nails..which resulted in a very traumatic experience for my dog and also made me run late for an appointment..call me crazy but if Im paying you to perform a service for me it obviously means I dont have the time or capability to do it myself and therefore I dont want to be involved and it made her seem a little incompetent that she needed me to stay and help her do her job..Ella actually acted more scared when Im around and wanted me to rescue her. She then proceeded to tell me I was arriving late...I dont consider 1:30pm late especially when my dog was her only client. Moving on, she then declares she may not be able to groom her if thats the way shes going to act..referring to Ella being scared of the toe nail clippers and being held down ..oh yeah did I mention my dog is only like 2lbs and 10 mo old...not hard to control at all she can literally be held in one hand! ..She tells me the price will be $37 if shes even able to do a full groom after making several rude comments about my dog being "nuts" and "crazy." When I returned shortly after to pick her up she stated she was able to give her a full groom but that my dog is "spastic" ...which highly offended me. I personally didnt consider the cut to be a "full groom" more like an all over trim, but whatever by that time I just wanted to part ways with her. I then go to pay and notice on my ticket she had marked through the originally stated price of $37 and marked it up to $47 ..so I ended up paying $51 for pretty much a bath and trim. When I returned home and started to examine my dog I discovered matted pieces of hair under her neck and chest area and she did not finish clipping her toe nails...I will NEVER take my dog back there to be groomed ever again! This is the absolute worst, most unprofessional "grooming salon" I have ever done business with! I did not have time to describe in further detail what we truly experienced, but be warned! no recommendation from me! Trashy "Groomer!"

The staff was very friendly when I called yesterday to make an appointment for my puppies. My problem with them was/is I explained to the groomer I was from out of state, and asked what would be needed to get my babies groomed. The groomer Tracy told me I needed rabies shot records, I called my doctor to get the records only to find out today that Tracy provided me with the wrong fax number. My vets office is now closed and now my puppies cant get groomed, because I was provided with the wrong fax number. My babies have their tags on so I dont know why they need records anyway! When I called to say this was Petsenses fault for 1. Not giving me the right number and 2. Not confirming receipt of the record; I was told by Tracy that the fax number was only one number off from their regular number and they were swamped yesterday and didnt have time to see of they received the fax. Very irresponsible and uncaring of them to not accept responsibility for their wrong doings! I did tell her that I was from out of state and couldnt drive to the vets office to get the records after all, so why is this MY FAULT! If this is an indicator of the type of service I was going to receive then I am happy I was given the wrong number!! I suppose if my dogs suffered any harm while there, they wouldnt accept responsibility for that either! My dogs health is important, and if this is the policy I understand as this keeps them safe, but take a few minutes to make sure I CAN comply with the rules, by giving me the correct information!!!!! Acknowledge and accepy responsibility for your actions, and dont blame the owner for YOUR mistake. It was a simple mistake which I certainly COULD understand, as we are humans, but trying to put the error on the owners is unacceptable! The ball was dropped by you maam! Oh well, you guys just lost a potential good customer, and left me with a bad taste so good riddance! I am giving two stars ONLY because I did receive friendly service yesterday, although today was totally opposite.

on my 5th visit..... with instructions on file, they cut all her tail hair off to the bone. It was like a beautiful hose mane tail. Now it looks like a rat!!! She ask me if I wanted same as before, and I said yes.....as I knew instructions were on file. I was very ill when I picked her up... wasn t ask any questions, but I new something looked different. I thought maybe cuz I was so ill, it was just she was freshly groomed. On the way home, she was standing in the window, and i noticed what they had done to her tail. It could not be undone, and I didnt go back or call at that moment, cuz I would have caused a big scene. however, I did write them a letter, and they didnt even bother to respond. Will never even walk near that store again... and will advise the same of all my friends. As Ive told all my friends, even if instructions were not written, NO GROOMER EVER would have shaved a tail like that without asking the owner first !!!! Thats how shocking it was !! I love my dog, but I hate them for doing that to her....

The store is staffed by friendly people and they have an on site grooming salon. That being said, their small selection makes me give them a 3 star rating.
