This complaint is regarding Safeway Store at 13828 W. Waddell Rd., Surprise, AZ. I am visiting this part of Arizona for the next 3 mo. I needed a Safeway to shop at and found this one which also has a pharmacy. Our safeway in Page, AZ is wonderful and I expected this to be the same, wrong. If it wasnt for the pharmacy I would never go back, as it is I will use drive-thru service for rx. The pharmacy is outstanding or at least the manager, Ellie is. Jan. 26th I went shopping and the experience was totally exasperating. It started with Jimmy Dean reduced fat sausage dated Jan.17th ( 9 days outdated) - I asked the meat man about the date he said it wasnt fit for human consumption, wonderful. I needed 2 whole chickens, they had 1 - unreal. I wanted 2 filet mignon - none, no organic hamburger, no organic eggs (even walmart carries organic eggs). I went on to yogurt I wanedt high mountain Plain non-fat, they dont carry the plain non fat. Next was the ice cream isle, my husband is diabetic and loves Dreyers no sugar mint chocolate I bought 2 cartons only to get them home and find 1/4 of carton was empty due to flashing, I might as well have thrown my money in the garbage. I walked all over the store looking for canned pumpkin, i thought it should be in with canned vegetables but I couldnt find it so finally I said Im checking out the courtesy clerk could find it, guess what they didnt re-stock canned pumpkin. Needless to say my experience was extremely frustrating and costly I will never shop in that store again.

I love this store. The prices are fair , some things are cheaper and some more expensive than Fryes or Walmart. However Its a better shopping experience because of less people there . Its much better than Fryes which is a zoo any time of day. I hate that store. The layout sucks at all of them. The aisles are too narrow and theres never enough parking. Its worth it to me to pay a few bucks more .

Bad, bad, bad, bad, WATCH YOUR DATES!! They have items on the shelves every single time I go in which are expired!! Sometimes by years!!! I have spoken with every manager and I get....."oh we are working on that....we are sorry" blah blah blah Im sorry were sorry I AM SO TIRE OF HEARING SORYY THIS SORRY THAT!! See photos....with expired dates. I was there on April 8 th I think

Horrible customer service. Accidently left my little wallet bag in cart. Called right away and they sent someone out to look. Stated they they checked the entire parking lot and it wasnt there. Loaded my kids up and drove back and it was right there. Very disappointed in the service quality. Obviously the person didnt look very well at all.

Prices still more than the frys across the street, i expect this location to close soon. Lack of cashiers. Sometimes its busy and there are only 1 or 2 registers open. Deli is ok. They used to have a good deal on a 8pc fried chicken for 4.99 with club card and they got rid of it so I tend to go to the frys across the street.

Sure the prices may be a little higher at safeway but you sure can get in and out quicker then going to other stores. Watch for thier adds and you can really save some money and time. Always clean and good parking. Sometimes its worth paying a little more to shop without a line of people trying to go down the same isle

This store is so clean I could eat off their floor! The Sales Associates are all friendly and polite. Their vegetables are so fresh! The meat department is wonderful. It is definitely worth getting their loyalty card and the Just For U app - great price savings!! Great store!!

To many crabs behind the customer service desk. The two in mind right now are daytime female older lady and older male who might be managers. Usually are (especially the lady) rude. Offer non friendly service on a regular basis. I skip this place if possible!

I shop at this Safeway because less people. The staff is pretty good and products even though a little more expensive. I dont have to wait in long lines and dealing with a family of 15 infront of me. Also the meat is way better quality then Walmart or frys

It was fun. Came in to purchase a fidget spinner for my son, spoke to a mom in line and convinced her to purchase one for her son also! (Turns out they are both in the same Summer Camp.) This place is always clean and EVERYONE there is polite and nice!!

Long time cashiers here are very friendly and helpful. Sue is especially nice at the front end. Store is clean, well stocked and checkout is fast. My favorite Safeway.

A lot less people here than Frys across the road. Everything is a little more expensive however. Bakery is always one of the best choices for your baked goods!

Usually not many people in store. Location has a Starbucks. Store has good in stocks. Store also has a pharmacy that has drive thru option for drop offs
