I am a huge geek and not part of the everyday Scottsdale crowd, so when my now fiance, mom and I headed over to Shane Co. to look at an engagement ring in Scottsdale, I was not looking forward to the experience. When I read the sign for Sapphires, Diamonds and Rubies" I was certain I was out of luck since we were looking for an orange stone. Shockingly enough, the first case I came upon was a display of jewelry that featured orange sapphires! We met Hanna, and told her a little bit about the kinds of people we were (wanted to have a fall wedding, loved Halloween, etc.). We started looking at the unmounted ring settings, she was pulling out all sorts of suggestions. I had my mind set on a certain kind of ring, and Hanna pulled out a ring and said that the profile of it had always reminded her of a bat (she always had a cool way of looking at rings and relating them to movies or things they looked like). Bat ring?! PERFECT! It was the coolest ring Ive ever seen, right in our price range, and then she went into the vault to find a stone, a 1ct. round orange sapphire. All 3 of us were amazed with the final result. My fiance put a payment down to put the ring and stone on layaway, and we said wed be back for the ring. Still, we went over to Jared just to look, and I was bummed the whole time we looked at rings over there. No suggestions, no real help. They were supposed to call with a price range for the original ring I wanted, called once to say they needed more time, and we never heard from them again after that. Well, Halloween this year came while we were on vacation, but my fiance managed to pull off a spectacular proposal in a huge haunted house with my beautiful bat-like ring with the orange stone. I loved Shane Co, Im looking forward to picking out wedding bands there a little later, and I hope Hanna will be there. She was WONDERFUL and we wouldnt have found this ring without her. Some people said it was low pressure at Shane Co, but I think its more like zero pressure. Thanks Shane Co!

Review would be higher but associate Dustin Wilson ruined my experience. No my engagement ring was not from Shane Co but since we have made moves across the country, I have frequented Shane Co locations for maintenance and repairs. I havent always had superb customer service at the Scottsdale location but nothing that perturbed me enough to write a review. However, earlier this year, I was "helped" by Dustin when I took my ring in for a replacement on a side diamond. Once he heard that my ring wasnt from Shane Co, it was almost as if he scoffed at me and scolded me, letting me know in a not so nice way that if we had purchased my ring from their company, these repairs would all be included. Well guess what, my husband surprised me with the ring (not so unusual for a man to do) and I was not involved in the purchase of the ring. It also leaves a nasty taste in my mouth when during a prior visit, I was being helped by an associate after having to wait (okay it was a busy day- not their fault), but she left me she said to just show the next customer where a section was of jewelry he wanted to look at, well then she was gone for much longer... and to make it worse, I had already told her I was in a hurry to get to work on time that evening. Terrible customer service experience here in AZ, unfortunate.

My fiancé and I came in to look at engagement rings with no intention of buying that day. We told the employee straight up that we were on a scouting mission and would not be buying anything that day. Even after telling them our semi low budget, we were still treated so well and were shown several diamonds. They explained what the clarity and color is, and showed us side by side comparisons of diamonds with differences in clarity/color so we could see what we preferred. They allow you to try on the rings and they place a diamond into the prongs so you can literally see what you will end up buying! My fiancé was so impressed with the size and shine of the diamonds we were shown that he ended up buying the diamond I favored most out of the bunch and a ring with such small, ornate details that people ask me if it was custom made! Since our budget was kind of low we ended up with a diamond that has a few imperfections, but the shine on this diamond makes it so special and beautiful that you cant even notice. I had an amazing experience at Shane Co, and would have never been able to afford such a stunning ring anywhere else.

We bought my ring through Shane Co around 6.5-7 years ago. At the time we were only 20 and had already been pressured and bullied by other jewelry stores. We were done with being treated like we were too young to buy a ring (and trying to be tricked into buying a crappy diamond due to our budget) The minute we stepped into Shane Co. it was a positive experience. We never once felt pressured and the quality of diamonds/rings was astounding! I have received so many compliments on the ring itself, which is a great feeling. The fact that you can bring it in for life for cleaning, repairs, replacement, etc without charge is amazing. I cant express how wonderful this place is! It is beyond worth the drive up to Scottsdale (from where we are) Will never get jewelry anywhere else! I do not mind waiting for my ring to get cleaned professionally as it always turns out GREAT. *no they are not paying me to say this, I just really love this company and what they do to go out of their way to treat a customer right*

I have to say, besides the silly and incessant commercials on the radio, this place is amazing! The first time I went in, the manager (Chris) was the one to help me. He did a wonderful job of finding exactly what I wanted. The anniversary band I chose used prongs to hold the diamonds in, but my wifey is hard on her rings because she wont take them off to save her life. :-) Having said that, I had a diamond or two fall out. The replaced them without hassle. It happened again. I went back, and I decided to get a different style that would hold up to more abuse. They gave me full credit for the original ring I bought!!! When I went in to find a new ring, Sarah Hurwitz is the lady who helped me. What a charming lady! Guys, if you want someone to talk 2nd Amendment and hunting while youre picking out a beautiful piece for your significant other, ask for her! Shane Co., your service is impeccable! I wont go anywhere else for jewelry again.

My fiancé and I had very good service with the purchase of my engagement and weeding band set. We proceeded to come back two times after that in search of a platinum wedding band for my fiancé and also to get my set cleaned. We loved the selection and experience with purchasing my rings, so it became important for us to get both our wedding rings from the same place. This first time was not pleasant because we felt like we were a major inconvenience to our sales man, he was rushing us and kept asking if we would buy the ring that day; we also later found out he did not even document in our file that we had got my engagement ring or wedding band cleaned. The second time was also unpleasant because we felt basically invisible to our sales woman, who just slapped out a few rings on top of the viewing case that were platinum and walked away, without even listening to what specific features we were looking for.
