If youre serious about your coffee and even if youre not Grinders on Dunlap is certainly worth checking out. Theyve been brewing wonderful cups for years here in the North Phoenix area. Long before those Corporate chain stores began popping up all over the place bringing in McDonalds mentality to local coffee culture. Here you can read a book, (provided youd like to) chat with the locals, (if youre the chatty type) or just sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee! Locally owned and operated which for me is a major plus plus. There are times when 5 stars just arent enough.. this is one of those times.

I usually have a great experience here and good coffee. I just didnt appreciate the attitude I recieved from the cashier when I went to redeem my free coffee with my punch card. She kept sighing & didnt want to give it to me. She was even asking me if they punch the card for each coffee you buy. Yes but shouldnt that be something you should know? I felt unwanted and a burden for using the punch card. The owner is so nice & friendly and I feel bad that this experience with thays cashier is making me not want to go there.

I stumbled upon this gem after having lunc down the street. Came solely because it was the closest coffee shop to me that wasnt Starbucks. I was excited to find that Id discovered a dope coffee shop and not just another pop up. Come check it out. I love the energy and feel of the place, the dozen raw bean bins, the local art, the wrapped lapidary work, and the coffee too. Come check out this little spot and order a surprise. They are fully prepared to get crafty with a surprise if you dare.

I love the roasting process that fills a neighborhood with that dense smell that something good is on fire. Caffè Americano on ice was my craving tho I went in to purchase two day old roasted Guatemala beans. Peak flavor will be in another day or two, its going to be good. So next time when buying a bag of beans dont buy weeks if not months old roasted coffee. Stop in and buy a bag from your neighborhood coffee house. It certainly is the superior way to have a cup~

I like this place a lot. The coffee is organic, and is always available in three strengths, to suit your preference (mild, bold, dark). The prices are quite a bit lower than Starbucks. They have some very nice scones in the morning which I enjoy, as well as other pastries and some sandwiches which I havent tried. There is free internet, a sofa as well as both indoor and outdoor tables. And the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, way better than Starbucks!

Well worth it to Wile out with the super serious iced espresso drinks! I have the Viennese perfectly made very tasty. Its a smaller space, so not exactly a place youd want to go with a group to hang out. But very cute with a covered patio. One of the Baristas working was Super Sweet, positive, happy, and actually made me feel welcome there. Because shes so naturally lightened my mood Id really like to give Grinders a 4.5 *rating! But sadly,

Great coffee, great staff. Home away from home coffee shop with a peaceful and warm environment. Owners are very involved and take pride in producing a consistently good experience. Just a great place to start your day, do some work, or get a decent bite.very clean and while the art displayed changes to show of some great talent, the coffee grinds all other large chains into the asphalt.

This place is awesome. Grinders is exactly what a local business should be, high quality and a part of the community. Dennis and his employees are great in so many ways. Anyone who spends time in the Sunnyslope area knows Grinders. It says something when the chain stores around you are closing and your business stays strong.

Always feel at home here. It reminds me of arriving at my aunts house and her asking me if I want some coffee (The answer is always "Yes"), as corny as that sounds. Friendly staff without the stuffy corporate facade you would get at Starbucks. Grinders coffee is LIGHT YEARS beyond Starbuck as far as flavor.

Drinks tasted like faintly flavored, warm water with the slight hint of a coffee aftertaste. Perhaps another course at barista academy was in order for Sunday mornings employee. Friendly staff but coffee making skills blatently absent. Instant coffee would have been a better choice ..

Friendly and fun staff, great atmosphere if you like your cafe experience to not be overly serious. The coffee and tea are great and well priced. Watch out for weekday afternoons around three. That is when the nearby highschool lets out their inmates and the place gets flooded.

Grinders coffee company is a great coffee shop, the best coffee in Phoenix! They roast their own beans, so the coffee is the freshest I have ever had. Grinders has great customer service and the owner is a is quite knowable on the subject of coffee and sports.

Im not the one to judge the fancy drinks, but this is a great place to have a coffee and bagel while surfing the web. The owner and his friends play blues and jazz on the patio on the second Saturday of every month.

Coffee was mediocre at best and i could arrange my living room to be a better coffee shop. If it wasnt for the cute, helpful, and kind baristas i would give this a 2. They certainly tried, they certainly failed.

Amazing people, amazing coffee! Dennis love and passion for coffee is amazing. Beans are roasted in-house while the employees are friendly and helpful in their cozy little non-precocious environment.

Very disappointed with the new owner, ive been a loyal customer for 3 years straight and since she became the new owner the caramel creamers dont taste the same. Sadly i wont be going here anymore.

Everything is good. But the coffee is a bit too dark on the roasting side. Would love to see it more in line with new third wave coffee roasting style.

The best coffee in town. The owner roasts his own beans and has created four great coffee brews. Worth the trip if you are into coffee.
