The top fabric shelf full of fabric bolts FELL on my sister while shopping here!!! Staff here are NOT concerned for your safety!!! You would think that safety would be a top priority since 60% of the customer demographic consists of the elderly. You will NOT find customer appreciation here!!! I have been a loyal customer after learning this is a family owned business. Its one thing that I strongly support over the big box stores. After todays visit, I will no longer shop here. My sister was looking over fabric and after pulling one bolt off the top shelf, the entire shelf full of fabric bolts fell over my sisters head and shoulders. Please keep in mind, my sister already has bad back problems and this just added more strain. We picked up the fabric and removed the shelf to prevent it from falling on another shopper. After picking up the fabric and shelf pegs off the floor, I noticed the shelf was poorly built and it tilted to one side, making it wobble. So needless to say, it was not safe for anyone to pull fabric from. Thankfully, a concerned shopper told staff that a fabric shelf broke and fell on my sister. While my sister was walking away from the broken shelf, an employee named Bonnie walked over to us apologizing for what just occurred. Bonnie spoke discreetly telling my sister that when we check out, to mention her name and that she authorized 20% off the total purchase. And because my sister is too nice, she told the employee that shes ok and expressed appreciation for the extra 20% discount. My sister found 3 cuts of fabrics my that was luckily already on sale for 20% off. We finally decided to check out and mentioned to the (the owners granddaughter) cashier what had happened and she extended her apologies about the broken shelf. And to add frustration to everything else...When we were telling our cashier about the shelf falling on my sister, the owner Bill (just so happened to be walking by) heard us talking about the broken shelf falling on my sister and Bill just walked away laughing!!! What the hell!?! I was in total shock when this happened!!! I could not believe that the owner himself, found that a broken shelf falling on his customers was comical! Anyways, The cashier was confused on how to run the additional discount so we waited for her to ask the appropriate staff to confirm. We saw Bonnie walking by and asked for her to confirm with our cashier. Bonnies response was "I can only give you 20% off on items that are NOT already on sale". Bonnie completely back peddled on what she offered to my sister! When I told her that wasnt what she said earlier, Bonnie just ignored me. What company does that!?! Why would staff offer a discount and then lie about it!?! Well, after spending thousands of dollars here...I feel that its time to take my business to a company that has my safety in mind and also appreciates their customers by not lying. I am so disappointed of this company!!! Do not bring your loved ones to this death trap!!! Honesty is not a virtue here!!!

Incredibly terrible. I took my sewing machine in to be diagnosed for a nesting issue. I waited 2.5 weeks for a call and was told it was the automatic thread cutter that was messing me up... which is something I told the technician i handed my machine to in the first place. I was told it would be around $100 to repair my machine. I called back a few days later to let them know I would be in to pick my machine up, as I was unable to do the repair fee until later on. I was told by a clerk i would be able to leave my machine there until able to pay for it. I left it for a month. I went back on 12/12/2016 to go ahead and get my machine since i felt guilty leaving it for so long, being I would not be able to pay for repairs until 1/5/16 and was told by the gal at the front desk to let the technicians know that I would be in to pick my machine up on january fifth and to go ahead with the repairs. I went back to explain the situation and let them know what she had said and was told to wait a moment while the gentleman went and put the note on my machine for me. A few moments later, a different person came to the counter and set my machine on it. Before I could say anything he said "Dont even bother putting a hundred dollars into this machine. Youre better off buying a new one. This ones too old to put a hundred into. It isnt worth it.", and he walked away before i could say anything. People were behind me in line and I was mortified. One of the people asked when i bought my machine, which was in 2011. Its a Sewing and embroidery machine and still retails over $350 in store and over $300 online. I will NOT be returning to this place EVER again which is sad because i have told many friends about this place. I am high standing in several craft communities here in Phoenix and have already spread word. I have also found another place that is doing the repair for me for $37 and they diagnosed it the SAME day.

If you like rude clerks, cockroaches, and being overcharged well do I have the place for you! 35th Ave Sew & Vac! I had a horrible experience here. It was my first time and I brought my one year old daughter. Unlike every fabric store in America they didnt have carts. They also didnt have a changing table so I had to change my daughter in my car in 115 degree weather. This was all forgivable, but when I asked a clerk if they had any carts she was very rude, and said something under her breath as I walked away. Later my daughter rushed for something on the floor and instinctively I picked her up and its a good thing too because it was a large dead cockroach in the isle. When I went to get my fabric cut my daughter was fussy. Considering that she has two molars coming in, which anyone with any empathy would understand except the people here. The woman cutting the fabric was very rude. She asked how old my daughter was, and later told me I should have put my one year old daughter in their fabric carts...I mean really? Because you dont have shopping carts, youre going to tell me that I should put my one year old daughter into the fabric cart? It didnt even have a bottom. My daughter would have gotten her foot stuck and been hurt. The ladys response when I told her this was that some other person had put their child (not toddler but child) in the quilt cart just the other day. Wow...just wow. At this point I put everything I was getting on the table and said no thanks. I didnt get anything. I had about $70 worth of fabric at that point, and had planned to keep shopping, but I left. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! EVER! You couldnt pay me to go here. They are overpriced anyway. Horrible, horrible, horrible experience! And I wish I could rank the quality, appeal, and service lower.
