Today, I was treated to not only a frustrating experience, but an experience noted by my legal counsel as" defamation" due to the following statements I will share with readers of this review. My Iphone 5 needed a new screen, as the body and the screen had slightly separated. As this business was just steps from my office, I made the phone call to the business and asked if a new screen could be installed. The phone was in perfect working condition at 12:34 when I walked in the door today. In evidence of this, the phone had ( and has now) a text message received as I walked into the store, as well as a phone call ( I let that go to voice mail). I was assumed that there would be no problem in replacing the screen, and told to come back in one hour at 1:30 pm, which I did, Read on.. At 1:30, the phone was presented to me by the owner- -but-- on closer inspection, I noted that the message "searching" , as in searching for internet connection, showed on the top of the phone .Another woman customer came in, now listening to our conversation. I brought the lack of service notification up to Daryl. No comment, except to say that he had done everything correctly. " But why is the phone not working now?"I said. No explanation-- instead -the following comment from the owner. " So, did you come in here to present a fraudulent claim-?," he stated. My jaw dropped!! Another statement ensured--about presenting a fraudulent claim, from Daryl .( Twice now) Daryl did take off the new screen in front of myself and the other customer. He put on the old screen. I patiently waited. Old screen back on the phone- still -" no service." Now for those readers that are possibly uninformed--please look up the definition of "slander". It is a tort of defamation, which carries legal implications. When someone makes a false statement , that damages a persons good reputation, especially if it is uttered in front of a third party- this is SLANDER. So ,you can all be the judges here. Virgin Mobile says this can happen if the technician happens to touch something within the phone , that can set up a static charge--disrupting the signal from the towers to the phone. My new knowledge learned today-- certainly again-- a party with this type of business would have know this, having worked on "thousands" of phones, even as he said " nothing like this has ever happened--its nothing I did. " Well guess what? It did happen. What happened to the respectable business person who should have tried to rectify the issue? Instead, he accuses the customer of trying to defraud his business! Enough..

I was sadly disappointed with Daryl today, whom I have done business with in the past on multiple occasions. (Although he does not remember me at all, ever....) I gave him a phone call stating that I wanted a certain phone. I gave him my name and told him I would be there shortly. He said great, and that he will see me shortly. According to my phone, I placed this call at 10:41 AM. I live 2 miles away and arrived at his store before the clock hit 11 AM. As I walked into the store, he was selling the phone I had called about to another customer. Before making assumptions, I politely waited until the customer was done and then told Daryl I was here to pick up the phone we had just talked about. He looked slightly shocked, and silently pointed to the woman leaving the counter. I asked him if he believed his actions were professional, to which he started making excuses justifying what he had done. If he would have simply acknowledged the fact that he screwed up, it wouldnt have been a big deal. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- -OVERVIEW- *Should have stated on the phone that he was not going to hold it if another customer came in. *Should have responded with something other than justifications and excuses for his actions. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not like it matters too much, but I went in with $400 expecting to buy a phone for myself, my brother, and his girlfriend. Instead of my $400 cash sale, he made a $130 credit sale. Oh well. It is too bad because I really liked that store; unfortunately I cannot return on principle alone.

I will state my review with a 3 start rating. Great customer service, with a few concerns I encountered yesterday. Upon my a rrival at 3:15, I had asked for a repair on my Galaxy Note 3. Buttons worked and still charged as normal but had a black, chipped screen caused from a 3ft fall which would not power on correctly. I had been advised that I would receive a call/text within an hour and a half after the repair was complete after giving my cell phone number. I drove back home to relax since I lived nearby. 5:30pm, 30 minutes before closing with notification, I drive back to retrieve what I paid for. As I then asked how my phone had turned out, he had explained how the bottom right button was functional, but would not light up compared to the bottom left button. Didnt mind much, just wanted what I came for and got out. I also recall my phone having a lockscreen even before the phone had shattered, but I didnt bother much since I had nothing personal. Overpriced, would be better to order your own parts and watch a YouTube repair video. Also had a candy machine, that was pretty cool. My suggestion, read reviews before attempting. Any place is not worth it when there are parts online available to order yourself. Im not too sure about my actual rating at this point. Maybe would ask for a ride in the hummer, "next time."

Went in to buy my daughter a phone, they have a big selection to choose from and he is very knowledgeable about each phone too. Daryl ( if I am remembering his name right ) is great to deal with and made it super easy getting the new ( new to us, it was actually a used phone but you cant tell by looking at it ) phone up and running before we left. I highly recommend that if you need anything for your phone or tablet you go directly to them, it turns out he has a great selection of phones and even tablets to pick from for the best prices Ive found. If you dont go see them youre only going to have youre self to blame when you find out that the other places are charging more for what they have and from my experience the other stores dont have the selection or service you get at Yakety Yak..

Horrible customer service, best for selling phones Ive sold to them a couple times however getting your phone fixed DONT DO IT. Got my screen replaced and it looked like it came back with more body damage to the iPhone then it had before there a separation between the screen and my volume buttons from sheer error and my screen goes black and times out while the phone is still on! People call me I cant even see the name just hear the phone. THE WORST PART when I called back to explain this to them oh its all my fault.. maybe the phone was un fixable in the first place or hey at least you can use you screen now right? SCAM its all for u $ dont leave your phone there is watch them do it so your not forced to leave with crap and no receipt on purpose make sure you ask!

He is really smart.. but i paid 300 to get my screen repaired a month ago and there is some issues. You can see where the glue didnt stick all the way down the screen, If I barely touch my screen it pushes in on the sides, which means it is not water proof anymore. I touch the top of my screen by the speaker and my phone shuts off and I cant get light for about 2 minuets .
