I decided to come to Agave Eye Care because I needed a quick appointment and my Eye Care provider could not get me in right away. I got in very quickly (called at 10:30 AM and had an appointment at 1:00PM), which was great! I had lots of appointment times to choose from calling the same morning. When I arrived, I was met by a woman, who I believed worked at the front desk. I was given a packet of standard insurance forms and medical history to fill out. As I was finishing my paperwork, the last page had options for "add on services" for retinal digital scanning and a computerized field of vision test. I have heard that the retinal scan is usually an add on at most eye care providers. But I was taken aback by the charge for a computerized field of vision test. I waited a few minutes for the woman to return to the front. I waited and she returned to the front after eating. I questioned the field of vision test and realized that my normal provider did the same exact test without charging the nominal fee. When questioning why there was a charge, I was quickly dismissed telling me that I could simply decline the service. Let me tell you, my main reason for the appointment was to have this field of vision test. She again laughed at my questioning and said," if you had your own office, you would be charging, too!" I did not appreciate her rudeness. At this point and realizing she was the optometrist and only person working in the whole office, I told her I did not want to continue my appointment. I left and scheduled an appointment where they do not charge for standard tests. I am leaving this review because it is important to be aware of these additional charges before scheduling at Agave Eye Care. It made sense to me why there were so many appointments available and it was completely empty. I wish her luck because she is going to need it!

I was a new customer and everything seemed great. The lady in the office wasnt the most professional but I let it go. About 5 hrs after my visit around 8 oclock I get a text. Dr. Liaw TEXT ME that they miscalculated the frames and I still owed her $47. I was upset not only about the miscalculation, but the fact that this DOCTOR is texting me at 8pm about my prescription. I gave her a few days to call me and she never did so i called her. I told her that I wasnt going to pay more because it was THEIR mistake. She didnt seek to care to rectify the situation, so then I asked her if she would rather lose a customer for only $47 ? She told me " then why dont you cover it if its only $47?" Needless to say Im taking my business else where.

Dr. Nancy Liaw and her staff are amazing. The information Nancy provides alongside with her exams and followup by her staff is superb. I use to see an eye doctor in Tempe, and I always felt rushed or the Dr. did not care about me one bit - which then resulted in a very bad quality pair of glasses or contacts. Nancy does it right, and I have never seen this clear in my whole life! Seriously, please check this place out. It is worth every penny.

I have been to many eye care professionals in my 30+ years of needing glasses. Dr. Liaw is the kindest, most patient professional I have worked with. She is honest, down to earth and very caring. No other doctor has taken the time to explain every little detail of my particular situation. I would recommend her to anyone who wants great professional care instead of assembly line eye care. You will not be disappointed!!!!!

Agave Eye Care is a wonderful practice. Dr. Liaw goes above and beyond in patient care. She took care of so much for me during my last visit. She called a specialist I needed to see and got me an appointment same day. Dr. Liaw called me that evening to see how my visit with the specialist went. Her staff is so courteous and professional. I have been a patient for 5 years and will not ever use another provider.

Dr. Nancy Liaw is fabulous! I have been going to see her for over 2 years. Her office has a great selection of frames. Her eye exams are very thorough and she takes her time answering questions and explaining each test and results. She has a very sweet demeanor and always has a smile on her face. I appreciate the individual attention she gives. It is very refreshing!
