I am having a horrible experience with San Tan Eye care. At first I went in for a routine eye exam and then I called the Doctor back and asked if I should try contacts. I was told that my insurance covers the exam and I should check it out. Over the next few weeks I tried all 4 brands of contacts they carried and nothing worked. Fast forward 3 months and I get a bill for $90. I called back and they told me that my insurance doesnt cover the exam if I dont buy contacts. This was never told to me when I asked if I could try them. They still are charging my insurance for my eye exam and they refuse to drop the contact fitting, even though they told me it was covered and we tried everything to make it work. Even a reduction in their inflated cost would have been acceptable.

I went in for an eye exam and I made clear that I just needed to get a prescription for glasses. I asked the receptionist how much it would cost with insurance and she said $10. The eye doctor was really friendly and I was really enjoying the place. When the exam was over and I went to pay, another receptionist said I owed $65. I was really confused and she explained that I got a contact exam. I told her that it was not what I asked for she became extremely and unnecessarily rude. After a bit of arguing, she reduced the cost back to $10. It was a misunderstanding, but the way it was handled was completely unprofessional.

Dr. Wold is AWESOME! Always remembers me, even after not seeing me for a years. Always friendly, very helpful. I drive all the way from mesa to see him, because I know he will take care of me. I give it 4 stars, because I always have trouble with the receptionists. Either being rude, unorganized, unhelpful, giving out wrong information. Its a bummer when you ask a question, esp about a bill, two or three times for conformation, then get a bill with a larger number. Dr. Wold is great, and I will keep going there, but ONLY because of him. No Dr. Wold? No business from me or my family.

Dr. Hostetler and the team at San Tan Eye Care are wonderful. I am extremely particular regarding my vision and since I am on the greater side of 40 Im learning to navigate the minefield called reading glasses. In my opinion Dr. Hostetler is an expert in working with multifocal contact lenses. I purchased eye glasses and contact lenses and I am extremely pleased with both. The support staff are also very courteous, professional, and helpful. I have recommended Dr. Hostetler to my colleagues and friends. The office hours are also very accommodating of busy schedules.

A beautiful office conveniently located near the Loop 202 at Val Vista in Gilbert. I am a return customer as I tend to frequent local business that practices superior customer service. The staff is consistently sharp and always friendly. If you are looking for frames the experienced stylists are truly in-SIGHT-ful! Pricing is clear and competitive, everything is defined. The turnaround for receiving corrective lenses is quick. More importantly, the orders are always accurate the first time.

When I was trying to adjust to a new type of contacts, he was very patient with me and worked to help me find the right fit for my specific needs. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The team at San Tan has been together for years. They are knowledgeable of the newest and best technology for determining your needs, and the various options available to meet them. My husband and I are both satisfied patience of Dr. Hostetler and his staff. We have been using them for a couple years now for both glasses and contact lenses. When we wanted to see frames in colors they didnt have in stock they were ordered and received quickly. Once we made our decision our final order was received quickly too. I have been a patient of Jack Hostetlers since 1990. The care from Jack and his staff are second to none. The staff is always cheerful and friendly, and the office clean and modern. They also always have the most modern and up to date technology available. I would whole heartily recommend this practice above any other for your eye care.

The staff is very friendly however they could NOT manage to quote price or order the correct contact lenses. It took three attempts to order my contacts in which when they finally got to the office I was quoted double the price!!! I ended up finally getting my lenses but the whole experience was extremely frustrating to say the least.
