I bought a GPS system here, and the return policy was only seven days. They asked me if I wanted to pay a lot more for insurance in case the product didnt work the way that it was suppose to, and I declined. You should never have to pay extra because the product you are buying may randomly just stop working. That sure doesnt make me have confidence in the crap theyre trying to sell. I bought it anyway because I was about to move out-of-state and really needed one and didnt have a lot of time to shop around. I just hoped for the best... which is definitely what I didnt get. The stupid thing quit working after two weeks. It wont hold a charge and constantly malfunctions and is not worth having. I really hate Best Buy. I had bought a computer from a Best Buy in Birmingham, and they charged me $40 extra when I got up to the cash register because the Geek Squad had deleted unnecessary things from it. Apparently, I was suppose to have known the Geek Squad had meddled with it and done something I could have easily done from a little sticker on the box. And like John, I had a guy try to sell me a $60 HDMI cord, and when I told him I saw one on their website for $10, he looked at me like I was stupid and claimed they didnt exist. He had somebody look it up on the computer, and sure enough, it DID exist. Im never going back to Best Buy. Everything is overpriced, the service is bad, and there are better return policies on electronics at other stores.

I am a regular shopper here. I usually recommend friends and family to visit this store when they need to purchase any electronics. This Best Buy has all of the electronics that you could ever think of. This place is always clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and well mannered. The one problem that I see is that teenage customers or the customers who appear to be very young tend to get overlooked by older looking customers or older looking couples (skipping you and instead greeting and asking the older looking person or couple "What may I help you with?" and just outright ignoring the teenager or younger person, not acknowledging you the whole time your in the store shopping.) I find myself sometimes having to find and flag down a Best Buy employee for help. Im a young adult who has an appearance of a young teenager. I want the same respect regardless of how young or old I may appear. Every customer deserves the same attention and respect. Other than that, I recommend this place.

Went to upgrade my phone service and to get new phones at best buy. Had 3 different people help me, the first guy gave me all nad information and lied about the price of the phones. The second lady had the biggest attitude, and moved at such a slow pace, gave me even more wrong information and, changed the price from the original agreement. Then the third lady i felt bad for bc she had to fix and correct all the mistakes, lies, and wrong information from the first 2 people. Then i get passed back to the first guy who has no idea what he is doing, cant do his job, or provide the right information. And then still lied about the price of the phone. I wasted 4 hours at best buy between waiting in line and the 2 people providing wrong, misleading information. Two days I have gone there and wasted my time to be lied to and mislead.

Bought a new laptop today. They had it displayed as an open box. AFTER I paid they said that it would have to stay there to have THEIR software removed. Why was it even put out to sale if it was not ready to go. I just handed them $1000.00 and dont even get to take my new purchase home. Then they told me it would be 2 hours. I called back still not done and was told that it would be another 2 hours. I called back 3 hours later and was told it should be done before they close at 9pm I called at 8p just to see if it I could pick it up on my way home and was told that no it was only at 49% completed. So its going to take over 9 hours for them to reset a new computer that I assumed when I handed them the cash would be ready to use. =( I am beyond irked and upset.

Geek squad will COMPLETELY rip you off. I had to clean up after a complete debacle by one of their techs. The system was virus infected. Instead of cleaning it, they went in, completely disabled all services, then told the user that their computer was unfixable. They then proceeded to sell them an overpriced system and a ton of extra labor for installing / setting it up. The computer that they said was unfixable was a Core2Duo (still a very good system). I reinstalled the OS in 1hr and they had a perfectly good computer. They also only partially moved the users data to the new system, then were recalled by the higher ups in Geek Squad because they were spending too much time on the install, leaving the user in complete disarray.

These people are just concerned about selling you the highest price stuff. I went in to get an HDMI cable and found one for 30 bucks. I was approached by this dude with dreadlocks and he convinced me that I needed an HDMI cable that was about 60 bucks more. I bought it and then went home and compared it with the specs for my TV. This dude sold me a cable I DID NOT NEED. I only needed one with a 60hz capacity and he sold me one with a 240 hz capacity. I returned to the store and they would not take my cable back since it had been opened. I GOT ROBBED 60 bucks! I asked to see a manager and they told me that was unneccessary. I asked again politely and they told me that I was out of luck. Never going back.

I preordered an item, paid a deposit, and when I came to pick it up on the release day they did not have it. Well technically they had one of them, but it was reserved for someone else (I thought I reserved one when I came in and paid you, Best Buy...). I only bought the item from Best Buy in the first place because they had a special promotion going on for it, but none of the 5 employees I talked to in the store knew about the promotion or could help me with it. The employees themselves were nice, but as a company the customer service is terrible due to long wait times and un-helpful/un-informed reps. Ive had too many negative experiences here, and will avoid shopping here in the future.

Best Buy <<... I was on the phone waiting for costumer service for 42 minutes, The most recent product was a tablet which started messing up after 2 weeks of having it and when I tried to return it, they did not have it in stock in the store, so they tried to have it shipped to the store but it could not be shipped so I have to find something else that satisfy me because they do not give cash refunds out. All I have to say is you have to have patience in order to deal with Besty Buy
