We had a 75th birthday party for the mom and Pollmans couldnt have a cake ready till after 3pm. So on the way in to Mobile from out of town I checked to see if Fresh Market could do a cake. They said they could so we went by to order two on the way in. Not rocket science. Just a cake that looked like the one in the case with words added and butter cream frosting instead of the tasteless frosting the demo one had. It would be ready by 1pm Sat. Upon arriving to pick them up I noticed the decoration was not as good as the one in the case and the roses added to the top were poorly done. I mentioned this to the person behind the counter and she just looked at me. Nothing about what can we do to fix it, etc. I just took the cakes and left and mentioned I wasnt coming back. Still nothing. Same with the cashier who appeared to care less about me being there. When I said this would be my last visit because of the poorly done cakes, still nothing. Not one word except heres your receipt. Granted its my fault for not asking for a manager, etc., but the party was starting soon and I had to get back. I spoke to a manager on the way back and he wanted me to turn around to try and fix it, but I chose not to fight Airport Blvd traffic with limited time available. Plus there wouldnt have been time to do what needed to be done. To top it off, it did not have the butter cream frosting, but the tasteless stuff. Just a poor attempt all the way around. Bottom line, Fresh Market is not a bakery destination for anything other than "defrosted" cakes and pies that dont need any customization.

Im done with TFM. After three years of periodically getting spoiled panchetta and being overcharged for proscuitto, I have finally had enough. I filled out a request form to buy a case of wine as a Christmas gift (expecting they actually would call me in three days) and heard nothing. When I asked about my request, one of the store employees took down my information and told me "I will call you Monday". Since I was looking to buy the case of wine locally, I opted not to purchase it while I was in another city (where it was available). Its been two weeks, and I have heard nothing (my fault - I should have known they wouldnt call me). Now my only option is to drive 200 miles to get it or have it shipped from out of state (with a hefty freight bill). Im done.

Just tried to call 4 times and never got an answer. Havent shopped there in a long time because of many reasons and that being one. They NEVER seem to answer the phone. I understand if they are busy, but Ive also been in there and the phone just rang and rang and nobody answered it...and they werent busy. So annoying and bad for customer service. Ive also bought many things there that Ive had to return because they are expired. The inventory was not very consistent either (meaning they were out of several things each time I went). Havent been to their store in a couple years because of all these issues. Was considering going today because my favorite store was out of a specific item today, but am reminded of why I stopped going.

First time shopping there and their computer system crashed when running my card. The woman at the counter said it didnt read and needed to be scanned again, except with no cash back. The charge showed up twice a day later for different amounts. Their "corporate" had no record of a duplicate transaction and since there was no proof of the cash back amount from their end my bank only refunded me for the provable amount of the final receipt. Long story short, dont ever use your card there. The woman at the counter said the system crash was a daily occurrence. I hate to think of the number of people shopping there without watching their accounts.

Outstanding store, MANY selections of foods from; fruits and vegetables, coffees and teas, creams and cheeses, breads and crackers, cookies and cakes, meats, poultry and fish. This store has a melting pot of products that appeal to a person from any background. Some say the products are pricy, yet... The Quality and selection of that product, CAN NOT be found at any other store in the area (regardless of the cost). Store is always clean, employees are very courteous, and they offer samples of coffees and/or fruit drinks, when available.

My wife and I have been using the Fresh Market since they arrived in Mobile. We have never had a bad experience. The bakery does a fantastic job on custom cakes provided you give them enough time to do it right. 1 day is not usually enough time there or any of the other bakerys in Mobile. Their fruit and vegetables are always fresh. I do not buy all of our groceries there but I do buy all of the baking items there. To top all of this off, their personnel are always courteous, helpful and friendly.

The smell of the flowers is amazing when you first enter. It is relaxing and entertaining. A large variety of mushrooms and special items. The prices are not bad either, some items are cheaper than other grocery stores and some are more expensive. So if you cannot do all your shopping here then take half of your list here and half elsewhere for a nice balance of value, superior quality items, fine shopping.

Ask for a whole sirloin, young man clearly irritated chops it into 6 pieces. If i wanted that i would have selected the sirloin steaks already cut. Steak was delicious as always, but this trip gets 2 stars for failure to pay attention and poor attitude. For the record, this is atypical of this FM and we will be back. Just watch carefully to be sure what you are asking for is what you are getting.

At The Fresh Market, youll find some of the best bread, produce, salads, meats, cheeses, coffee and bulk candy and nuts available! You may not find your favorite salad dressing, but, they offer items you wont find in your ordinary grocery store! Definitely worth a stop, just to look at the produce section....its always picture perfect!

Purchased a small fruit tray for $20.00. Every strawberry was rotten. The berries had to be thrown away. When I tried calling this location to inform the store of the rotten fruit no one answered. Needless to say I will not purchase another fruit tray unless it is created on the spot.

I really like to stop in this store from time to time and get specialty items that you cant get at your local Supermarket. Yes, its pricey, but most of these places are. I dont think its worse than Whole Foods, which is notorious for high prices. I love the bakery items, yummy!!!

They practice "Bait and Switch" in their meat market. Always open your meat package before you leave the meat counter. They do it so often that I think it is their company policy. It is illegal to "Bait and Switch" in Alabama, but they do it anyway.

Not the store for your entire grocery list, but a wonderful weekly stop for special hard to find items. The employees must enjoy working for Fresh Market as it seems the same smiling faces are always present. A great addition to the community.
