Good Evening. I dont normally write letters when I have an issue with a company. Please let that show just how much my experience tonight at your Lindenhurst location disturbed my family and I. It was 8:45 pm on Friday night. My wife and I needed a few things and we like to go to our local store because it is small and has almost everything we need. Tonight we were greeted by three men just inside the door. One man said we will be closing in 15 minutes. I said that is fine we just need a few things and we went in and proceeded to get our purchases. As we were heading to the cash register, a stock boy went by us and announced that we were the last ones. We had already felt rushed by our greeting at the front door and now we were feeling uncomfortable. We have our receipt and the time we checked out was 8:55 pm. This shows that we were not stalling and we were trying to be respectful of the closing time. As we were in line and about to pay, the cashier said to the bag boy “Is he (the manager at the front door) going to keep letting people in?” The bagger said “probably until 9:00.” This made us feel even more uncomfortable and my wife said to me “I will let you get the change because I’m feeling uncomfortable.” I got to the car and asked my wife if she wanted me to go say something? She told me no but I could see she was bothered. I decided to call the manager. I called as we were driving home. I asked for the manager. The manager answered the phone and identified himself as Ron. I told him that we could shop anywhere but we like our local store. I then proceeded to say that we did not like the feeling we got when we were greeted by the Gestapo at the front door and told we only had 15 minutes, but I could not even finish my sentence before I was cut off. He then said that that was him and he was told by corporate to do this. I said corporate told you to do that? He said “yes.” I said ok well then I will call corporate on Monday and tell them about our experience. He cut me off again and abruptly said that’s fine my name is Ron and he hung up on me. Wow. How rude. I work as a manager and I would never treat a customer that way. I want you to know I was not rude and I did not swear or have attitude. The worst thing I said was calling the three men at the front door that made us feel unwelcomed the Gestapo. I don’t think we will be returning to Butera for quite a while, if at all. I will also be telling my friends, coworkers, and family about my experience and urge them not to patronize your establishments. I will also share my experience with the social media. Please understand that this is the 3rd time in my life that I have ever written a bad review. I hope that you discuss the importance of treating all customers with respect and make them feel welcomed. I would also let them know that 1 customer can lead to a loss of 10 or more by word of mouth and more with social media reviews. I would also give Ron a serious talking to and maybe some training. The last thing is; if you would like your customer to stop spending money and out of the store by 9:00 pm, then you should close at 8:30 and make announcements on the PA system for the shoppers to make their final selections and please check out. Thank you for your time and I hope this actually gets read.

The spite management is horrible. I actually know first hand considering one of the managers is my uncle and my brother worked theyre recently until he quit good a little over 3 years! The fruit alonv with other items is very quick to go bad i refused to by any fruit product that alone made me pick another store where its a one stop shop and good quality.several of the staff especially the younger crown have no respect what so ever for anyone. I still Newberry spend my hard earned money at this place ever again.

I walked in and followed procedures by pulling a number at the deli bar and had two people who did not do such be taken before me. I feel as though they were being racist. It was my first and most likely my last time going into the store. I did not buy anything as I ran out of time waiting for service and left. I guess if youre a foreign person in the area you might not want to go here they will leave you waiting for service and take csre of the regulars before you.

Like a year-round farmers market. Outstanding produce and meat depts., and a great selection of Asian foods. After moving to SE WI I was very depressed by the grocery stores — until I found Buteras. After reviewing all the comments here, the anonymous ratings that drag down this stores overall rating are completely unwarranted and clearly malicious. No one could walk into this store and not think it well run and focused on their customers needs. One star? Absurd.

Great fresh produce selection. The fruit is near ripe and ready vs other places where you need to wait a few days before being able to enjoy. Vegetables are outstanding. Meat selection is good. Staff, this is where they need some improvement, being blown off when you say hello is a bit disheartening. Oh well, they work at a job they hate and seem to give the customers the same impression.

I live near Butera and love it. They are not big or super-modern in decor, but their weekly specials are often outstanding, their produce is nice quality and cheaper than the big chains, and their meat prices are also better than local competitors. It is not a luxurious Whole-Foods kind of place, but for a great value for everyday shopping,

Nice local chain, cheaper and more straightforward than Doms or Jewel. Most of the grocery specials are the same as Piggly Wiggly each week (they use the same wholesaler) but meats and produce are lower and perhaps a bit better. Helpful employees. Mgmt could put a few more people on registers or install a couple self checkouts.

Love grocery shopping here! The butchers are super friendly and prepare great food for immediate cooking. The deli meats and cheeses are always good and the store has always been tidy. The store sits connected to a vacation storefront - Will anyone take that space?

During check out I questioned some of the prices. I was over charged on three different items and told the cashier and she made price corrections, however not without a really bad altitude. Customer service was terrible.

The assortment of vegetables and fruits are good and not that expensive. Prices are good. The Bakery dept, needs a "lift on newer variety of baking or a new baker with fresh ideas, it surely boost the sales."

This store offers all sorts of ethnic grocery items. It also has a butcher counter. It just lacks fresh seafood. But, at least offers a few frozen seafood items. They also have wine & liquor.

Prices are not the best here but I do appreciate the diversity of products from other cultures. It is comparable to Jewel. A lot of the weirder crowd work here as well
