My wife was looking to buy a Linus bike and Mad Duck was the closest dealer to us of that particular brand. (about 26 miles, 30 min drive) The Head of Sales Clarence was closing out a sale with a customer as we waited patiantly for his attention. His time with the customer became more social chit chat and less business as the sale was completed. I despise poor customer service, but I am from NYC which runs a mile a minute so I tried to give some consideration that people just arent in such a rush out here in Texas. After waiting patiently Clarence finally was prepaired to help us with our questions about the Linus bike. He allowed my wife and step daughter to ride out side in the parking lot to get a feel for the bike. He seemed pleasent and helpful and I put aside the initial lack of attention and service I felt when I first arrived. We told him we were interested in the bike and wanted to order it. I asked at that time if they delivered being we drive a sadan with no bike rack and live almost 30 miles away in Plano, TX. He says, "Plano?" thinks about it for a half a second and responds, "Yeah we can do that. Its no problem" So I order the bike over the phone a few days later. ( I believe a Wednsday) He says the bike might come in Friday but more than likely next tuesday it will be in. Tuesday comes and I call in the earily part of the afternoon. Clarance answers and tells me the bike just got off the truck and they would put it together and ship it out the following morning. Then asked, "is that cool?" I assure him that would be perfect and I wait with anticipation for the bike. Wednesday morning comes around no bike... no call. Wednesday afternoon comes... no bike... no call. I call Wednesday evening (an hour before they close) and I get a voice mail. I try back in 10 minutes, get another voicemail. I leave a clear message detailing my name number and that Ive been waiting all day for this bike. The next day. No return call, nor explanation of what happened to my delivery. I call in the early afternoon, and I get Clarance again. No explanation just another promise to deliver the bike that afternoon once their intern/employee gets out of school. I wait the rest of the afternoon and evening waiting for the bike to be delivered. No bike... no call. I decide to call around 6 to see if everything is ok. No answer, just voice mail. I call back 3 more times. No answer, just voicemail. Its now Friday and I have yet to receive one call from Clarance with an apology or explanation as to why my wifes bike wasnt delivered even though he said it would be on two occasions. I also called yet again and yet again.... voicemail. Does this place know how to answer a phone? Can they be any worst at doing business? These guys might know about bikes and give great attention to questions and pair you with the perfect bike for you. But when it comes to common decency, and correcting a wrong on their part, they are horrible. I only wish I could get in touch with them so I could get my money refunded to my card and let them keep the bike and sale it in their store. Cause I dont want anything to do with them. Unfortunately as I write this review I am still bikless and out of $460 bucks.

Ive been going to Mad Duck pretty much since I moved to Texas in 2009. Clarence, Gary and Terry have always been awesome and besides being super nice, they also do a great job supporting the local cycling community. Clarence also coaches riders of all ages and skill levels and in the years I have been riding in Grapevine Ive seen many of the people he coaches become very accomplished racers. Of special note, in my opinion, is the fantastic job he does coaching juniors. Gary is one of the best bike mechanics Ive met in my 20+ years of riding and Terry is always a pleasure to talk with! Mad Duck also promotes one of the most popular Sunday morning rides in the area, the "World Famous Coffee Ride". Most times the ride breaks into several groups and accommodates from racers to beginners alike. Also, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during daylight savings time, one of the local cycling groups start their rides from Mad Ducks parking lot and gather there after the rides for some good chatting and recovery drinks. Oh, and at Mad Duck they also sell some very nice bikes and gear as well! :-)

This was the worst bike buying experience I could have imagined. I placed an order for a specific bike about 6 weeks ago and was told that it would be to the shop within 10 days. After 6 weeks of waiting, dozens of unanswered phone calls, 6 visits to the shop (because I could not reach anyone by phone) and 6 weeks of excuses I have finally given up. Im not sure if it was the owners fault, or the fault of the bike company (Kona), but at least one follow up phone call during the 6 week period would have been nice. I ended up purchasing a mountain bike from Bicycles Plus in Flower Mound and I am very pleased.

I have a friend who has been recommending me to go to Mad Duck for some years, however I have been choosing to go to a different store for all of my biking needs. I wish I had followed his advise sooner and gone to Mad Duck. After being told, again, it would be two weeks before the old store could fix my blown rear hub, I made the move. The experience at, Mad Duck, was great, quick, knowledgeable, professional, excellent advise and great service. Job completed on the same day. How refreshing it was! I found my new biking store,,, Mad Duck ,, Thanks again for the great service!

I have been in the shop at least 10 times over the last 8 months. I purchased a used bike that needed some tender loving care. The crew at Mad Duck take care of me every time I go in. I have made very little investment as far as purchasing new equipment and I still get treated like royalty when I bring my bikes in there. I cant say enough about how much I appreciate the treatment they have given me even though I am not one of their big spenders. That kind of service goes a long way when it comes to the time I do decide to drop some serious money on a bike.

Mad Duck is the best shop around. They always put the customer first and go farther than another other shop would to meet the needs. They had a issue with a vendor on a delivery of a bike, but kept with it and never gave up. When the vendor could not deliver, they found one who could at no extra cost to me. Not many if any other shops would do this much for a customer. I have my new bike and could not be happier. Dont go any where else. They are the best.

Nice little small shop. Service was great at the store itself but one thing that is bad is that they have not returned my 2 emails I have sent nor have they returned my phone call. And yes I did leave a voice message and it has been over a week already! As the user "RUSS" stated, they dont have time to answer calls. I guess that statement is proven true. All my calls goes to voicemail with none of them returned so far.
