UPDATE: Here’s an update on our ordeal. So, we got a “new” setting that wasn’t supposed to have been sized (even though it had a visible solder mark) and the side stones repeatedly fell out of it. I think I lost 4 stones total. So, Gil recommended making us a custom setting that was supposed to be the same as my current setting, but with bigger prongs on the side diamonds to stop them from falling out. This new ring looks terrible! The center prongs are huge compared to how it was set before and they dwarf my 2 carat diamond. To make matter worse they set the stone at the top of the setting, so I don’t feel comfortable wearing it and I have to take it back to Golden Nugget AGAIN!!! I have been at that store no less than 10 times in the past 3 months and I’m fed up! Also, with the new center setting there is no way I can get a wedding band that isn’t curved. I’m just disgusted that these people can take more than $12,000 of your money and deliver such subpar service. If this ring was a car, according to PA Lemon Law, we’d be able to get our money back. Take your business elsewhere and save yourself some tears and frustration!!! STAY AWAY from this business! Shady business practices and really sloppy, sub-par work. My fiance gave me my ring and I instantly noticed that the prongs had never been filed, as they were snagging on everything, and several had tool marks still on them. The band was very thin where they had sized the ring to a size 5 and misshapen. My fiance called the same day and spoke to an owner/manager that said it wouldnt be a problem to fix and we could bring it right in. Upon entering Golden Nugget we were greeted by a bleached blonde lady and we asked her if we could speak to the manager my fiance spoke with the day before. She said he wasnt there even though I saw him walking out from around the desk. She rolled her eyes at him and he walked out of sight and she told us we would have to speak to the sales person, Ken, who sold us the ring. Ken initially tried to give us the run around saying that they could fix the band in the back in 2 hours. When I expressed my concerns at how thin they had filed the band already, magically he spoke to his manager (funny, thought he wasnt there) and they are ordering me a new setting. He ended by saying I should remember what a great deal we got on the stone. Actually, I did my research on EGL Israel stones and we basically got fair market price, not such a great deal. I hope they fix the problem, as we did pay well over $10,000 for this ring. I would have been happy to have found a great jeweler where we could purchase our wedding rings too, but this is the last business they get from us. Bottomline STAY AWAY. These people are incompetent, unprofessional, and worst of all, disrespectful.

I had purchased an engagement ring a couple of years ago for my ex-fiance. Thought their prices as well as service were great; until recently when I went back to purchase another ring for my current fiance a couple of weeks ago. We found a loose 2.65 carat diamond that we both liked at their place but it was a little bit over our set budget. I gave them my counter offer before I left and I told them that they can give me an answer the very next day as I had to drop off my old engagement ring to resize so I can give to my mom with them. When I went back the next day, the owner of the business try to pull a fast one over me by giving me a different certificate with the SAME EXACT 2.65 Carat certificate and hope that I wouldnt notice it and buy the bad diamond. I confronted them right on the spot and told them that was not the right diamond that we had talked about the day before. Our sales rep, Michael, said that there are lots of diamonds with 2.65 carat and it couldve had been messed up. Even if that was the case, I had told them that I was going to be back the next day so wouldnt the least they do is prepare for it? Anyhow, I then pulled out the certificate of the diamond that we had liked and he quickly said he knew which one it was but the "owner did not." I think that was completely bogus. If he did know, why didnt he confronted the owner from the getgo? Unless, he was playing along with the owner to see if I was going to take the bait for the less inferior diamond, I had complete trust with this business and really liked them because of the previous experience. But now, Im just really disappointed and disgusted by the fact that they would try to do something like that. Even if that deal didnt had worked out, I told them I was going to be back in Philly in a few weeks as I live in FL, to do business with them. Im heading back in a couple of weeks and guess where am I not going to go find a diamond ring for my current fiance. The reason why I am just now writing this review is because I was afraid that they might do something shady with the ring that I gave them to resize for my mom. My mom received the ring back yesterday so now I can write this review and just hope that they didnt have integrity to not mess with the diamond on the old ring.

If I could give them a negative star rating, I would. We went to golden nugget to upgrade my engagement ring. Everything was priced out, ready to go. The ring was completed, and I was on my way. Within a few days, a business associate who also used to use golden nugget said that golden nugget had called him for my telephone number (why the jeweler couldnt just look on the sales slip for the number is beyond me. The jeweler actually TOLD my business associate that he had to get in touch with me because they had not charged us enough for the new ring!!!!!! Shortly after, we received a call from the jeweler at the golden nugget, stating that he had not charged us enough, and that we had to come back in to work this out!!! We had already spent 3 hours at golden nugget picking and pricing the new ring. I ended up going back to the jeweler with my infant daughter in tow. I was there for several hours as the jeweler showed me other diamonds that he could give me for the price that he had quoted me. He would mysteriously find more diamonds in the back. Meanwhile, as I am trying to work this situation out, he and his boss drop everything to help out someone who walked in and asked to have a gold watch melted down. My experience with golden nugget was a nightmare!!! Not sure if theyve noticed, but they have about 8 less customers because of their mistakes and waste of my time!!! I felt like I was being courteous in returning to the store to discuss the matter. I ended up leaving with a ring that I had lukewarm feelings for. When I asked if I could just have my old ring back, and that I would just go home, they said that they couldnt do that. Sorry if I sound like Im rambling, but what a nightmare!!!! they are not the only show in town, so shop around! Should I have called the police? the better business bureau? Maybe- Its too late now-AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!
