Good doughnuts but the two guys in front on the weekends tend to spend too much time chatting and flirting with customers and forget orders all the time. Ive been here a few times and it doesnt seem to matter whether the store is empty or crowded, they just cant seem to remember to give you what you paid for. On one particularly bad occasion I was one of two people in the store and I placed my order, the guy made my drink, and then proceeded to flirt with the woman who came after me, completely forgetting about giving me my doughnut. I literally stood there for five minutes as he flirted and eventually I had to say "what about my doughnut?" He looked at me, looked at the woman he was flirting with apologetically, and said to me "theres a lot going on here, Ill get that for you". Theres a lot going on here? Really? There are literally two people in the store bro. Do better.

To be completely honest, the quality of the doughnuts at The Doughnut Project arent the very best in NYC. Dont get me wrong. Its good, but if you want the best doughnuts in NYC go to Dough in Brooklyn. However, I do think The Doughnut Project is worthy of four stars because of their flavors. You wont find the combo of flavors they instill in their doughnuts anywhere else. From their olive oil and cracked pepper to the PB&J doughnut, each one is unique. On top of that, the atmosphere they create in their small shop blocks away from Washington Square Park is artistic and a nice respite from the rest of Manhattan.

Very impressed. They accepted my membership card and even knew the handshake. The staff was patient with me while i wafted the fragrance of each individual variety into my nose for evaluation. I chose the two doughnuts that felt most soul cleansing, in this case, plain vanilla and milk chocolate espresso. Both staff members paused to do the customary barking bird ritual with me before i commenced nut-of-dough consumption. Upon digestion meditation, I accepted the fate of those two innocent doughnuts, and thanked their spirits for their sacrifice. Im just here for the Wi-Fi.

I was very repulsed by their combination of cured meats with donuts. I got one of the Beet Ricotta, which was so addicting, I got two more for my coffee. :) The donuts have more consistency to them, than the usual garbage you get elsewhere. The texture is just right and the glaze tastes way healthier and natural than the usual DD morning pick me up. Ive been wanting to go back and pick up some more, but as good as they are, I spend way too much time at the gym already. BTW, Good coffee!

My favorite is the maple bacon doughnut. Fluffy airy and has the right about of bite with great flavors of maple and a crispy bacon top. The salty and sweet really match up well. The chocolate topped with almonds was also very good. Chocolatey and nutty. There was a special that day with pepitas which added a nice roasted nut to the doughnut. Great service and explained every flavor very well. Its a small shop but doughnuts are meant for grab and go.

We got four different doughnuts. Out of our selections, The Everything Doughnut and Those Beetz Are Dope were my favorites. The Everything was so bizarre, but for that fact, was really memorable. I loved the ricotta filling paired with the Beetz. Really delectable and a fun experience! The shop is small with limited seating, we did not have a problem getting a high top, but be prepared to potentially have to enjoy your doughnut elsewhere.

Great donuts I guess but the staff seemed like she did not want us there, me and my friends kept trying to speak to her and tell her how cool your store is and she just kept rudely brushing us off. Me and my friends came in excited and we left with me having to explain to my little sister that the lady was not racist, she was just having a bad day. I hope she sees this and realizes a smiles goes along way.

Sooo yummy! And what nice people :) I had my car out front, my dog with me and there was no problem taking my order outside and bringing me my yummies. Not saying this is something thy offer to do but it was something they easily accommodated for me! The have some great flavors. I will for sure be back for more! :))

Out of control doughnut perfection - surprisingly light yet also intensely flavored donuts with some daring flavors like bone marrow. On a hot summer day, their frozen donuts are unbeatable, a filling much like the classic Italian semi-freddo dessert. Really warm and friendly service too.

I gotta say these were some good doughnuts. I have been to them all Dough, Doughnut Plant and Peter Pan Doughnuts. Doughnut Plant is in the same caliber of those other doughnut refineries. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area.

The quality of the donut is really good. Its tasty and I didnt have heart burn after. The place was really clean and customer service was outstanding. I wish there were more flavors when I came in but its okay I like plain one too.

If you like all spice then these donuts are more than likely perfect for you! However Im not a huge fan of all spice not in donuts anyway, so unfortunately they were not to my taste, however the service was wonderful!

We tried a lemon glazed donut and loved it: it was a good size, the glaze was very flavorful, and well-distributed. The donuts are denser than Donut Plant, but we liked them better than VooDoo donuts

3 stars for their creative and imaginative doughnuts but the downside is the dough itself. If they change their dry dough into something light and that melts in your mouth, this review would get a 5

I had the beet glazed and ricotta, which was amazing, and the milk chocolate espresso doughnuts. Very good quality doughnuts. I went just before closing and they still tasted very fresh!

Just another doughnut place focusing on crazy and unique toppings before theyve mastered the basic. If you want weird glazes and fillings go for it. If you want a good doughnut skip it.

Had the very filling and delicious PB&J. Not sure if I like this place more than the donut plant...but Ill be back a few more times to try all the other varieties here.

Doughnuts just took a big quality jump in NYC. Some insanely good flavour combinations. Beet icing and Murrays ricotta cheese filling is a profound experience. Do it.

Unique flavor combos and decent dough, but whats with the hype? Good, but weve had much better. Hit it if youre in the neighborhood, but dont go out of your way.

Try the frozen donuts especially the cream sickle or the cookie dough were both delicious. The Texas gold chocolate donut was big in size but average flavor

I believe this is one of the best place for donuts. Variety and even some very creative donuts. Its not all about different colors and just sugar.

Excellent doughnuts, but so so overpriced. $4.25 for a doughnut? No way. 5 stars for the doughnuts, 1 star for the price. 3 is the average.
