Took my 2000 wideglide in to get my speedometer issue diagnosed and fixed. After waiting a week to hear back from them even when I had an appointment scheduled, they told me it was my speedometer itself that needed replaced. I was slightly hesitant because from my own judgement I thought it was just the speed sensor. Another 3-4 days go by after me calling asking if the bikes fixed (planned to take bike out to sturgis the upcoming Friday) and finally I get an answer saying replacing the speedometer didnt work. Given my situation and having the bike in there for 2 weeks already I had to go back and pick the bike up unfixed so I could have it for sturgis. Before I leave the shop with the bike they tell me that they would follow up with me to have it brought back in an re-diagnosed at no charge to get speedometer fixed, but I never heard back from them and when I did call no one seemed to remember anyone saying anything about the follow up service. Highly discouraged and worried something more serious was wrong with the bike I took it to another harley service center and had the bike fixed in two days. The fix? Speed sensor. Will definitely be hesitant before taking my bike back for service here again even given the convenience of being 5 minutes from my home.

Looked into purchasing a Bourget Dragon chopper they had. After starting the financing process I went down to see it and show my girlfriend it as well. The two times I was on the phone with them they didnt tell me that the owner had taken it out for a ride and left his bike behind so they spent that time trying to sell me his instead after I said multiple times I didnt want it. They promised hed be bringing it back in and on the day it was supposed to be there I got a call saying the owner decided to just keep it instead. So they spent days trying to sell me other motorycles too. Complete bullshit. Jim A. who works there tried to get the owner to cooperate at least, other than that it was bait and switch over and over again. Just blew smoke up my ass for weeks. Theyll never have to be bothered by me showing up to their dealership again. I ride as a BACA member and an ABATE D6 captain. Our events that I ride dont need to include them anymore. Nor will I ride to their pork feeds or other events. Theyve lost any respect I have for them.

Do not purchase a bike from these clowns it started out good then it went to hell real fast.Issue one the paper plate expired before I received the new plate took over a month to get the new plate bike had to sit for a weeks no plate.Then they were giving lifetime oil changes for the bike they tried to renege on that because the manager was not authorised to do this to bad thats why i purchased the bike after 4 phone calls and a threat to take them to court they gave it to me.The last one was the best they were suppose to take my old hitch off and give it to me the salesman said no problem as we can not put it on any Harleys per HD well after 6 phone calls they finally took the hitch off my old bike told me to come and get it. when I picked up the hitch they were charging me $250.00 to take it off the cost of a new hitch at JP is $250.00 at this time I Am working with HD to get the hitch if you deal with them you must get it in writing a handshake doesnt work do not trust Zylstra.Just go to big barn they will treat you good.

Im sure some have had a good experience with them. Ours not so much. We ordered parts in November to winterize our Harley. Finally received them today January 27th 2017. After many phone calls and conversations with them telling us one part was back ordered, which we understood to a point. Ive been in business before and there is usually more than one outlet for parts to be ordered from which was the last conversation we had with them. And then it ended up being the wrong part which was cheaper than what we originally ordered Yicks. Were tired of the hassle with parts department so we decided to eat it. Good thing there are other dealerships.

Went in and got approved for a 10,000 dollar bike with a 3,000 dollar down payment I couldnt come up with that so they showed me another bike for 4,000 dollars the same day called me the next day saying if I could get 4 references and proof of income they would get me on a bike and told me it would be the last time I was there so I showed up with everything they wanted and got told I still need 1,800 down and would not give up on trying to get my sport bike I already said I wasnt trading in many times to them boy were they right it will be the last time I go in there

On bike number 2 from the zylstra guys loved working with Matt and the sales team was introduced to the owner. The service dept and parts. Was kept in the loop on every part of.my purchase. Service interval were explained in full detail. I will let every one in my dealing know about this hidden gem in ames. Would highly recommend them to everyone . All needs were met and surpassed.

Id give them 0 stars if it were an option. The worst experience Ive ever had purchasing a motorcycle. They have horrible customer service. They take no ownership in their mistakes. Theyre rude and condescending. They go back on their word. They lied on a contract we had with them and then laughed at us when we confronted them about it.

Very horrible customer service. Trying to buy a new Street Glide CVO. Internet manager would not return calls or send me photos. Sales manager wouldnt return calls after he told me he would. I am a business owner and would not want my business operated this way. I am purchasing a 2017 Street Glide by the end of 2016.

Best dealership not only in Central Iowa but the entire state. Went above and beyond to take care of its customers. I had a motorcycle stored with them and received military orders at the last minute and their team bent over backwards to ensure I was taken care of. I am a forever customer.

We broke down on i35 in Iowa they picked up my friends bike ,replaced a faulty voltage regulator and charged the battery. Had us on the road to sturgis within 3hrs .thx to the staff. The parts girl for flying for a regulator, and service for staying over to get us on the road.

I bought my motorcycle from Zylstra HD and have been treated fairly well; I even received a few months of free storage this winter after having my bike in for repair. My only complaint is that there is not much continuity in staff.
