We experience the uttermost humiliating treatment, from this business staff yesterday afternoon. We are a new non-profit organization for youth, dependent of local resident donations to maintain in operation. We called multiple business and opted to make business with Record Head; however prior to driving 1 hr. we provided a detail description over the phone on what we were looking to sell and asked if we could do anything else to have a good understanding of the merchandise. I was transferred to the " person in electronics that could make a decision" and was assured he was interested, and would pay us a fair price...specially That we had to drive 1 hr. and it was for a non-profit. After arriving at this facility we encounter 4 staff member arguing amongst each other on what was needed and not, using unfit foul language, and very unfriendly towards us. I explained that one of the staff member over the phone, had assure me to make it worth our time, and once again that we are dependent on donations for funding of our youth program. One of the staff began to tell me how our new merchandise was of no value, and had a vendor that would provide him with the same product at $0.10, for merchandise at retail value of $10.00 to 50.00. I assure him I was not a guru when it came to computer technology, but had already researched our merchandise, and only a direct buyer to china at mass quantity could obtain a price as low as $0.10. He said to my face I had no idea of what I was talking about, and plain and simple did not care if I walked out. I asked to have the store manager talk to me over the phone, since he was not available to explained the circumstances. I inform him we genuinely were a non profit, with a donation and not stolen merchandise. The he was welcome to look up my credentials on line, and verify my DL or business card. After our 5 min. Conversation, I hand the phone back to the insolent staff agent. He answers the phone by stating "do you want me to verify the non-profit?" I known all along by the behavior, that they assumed I was giving them a fake story. ( I HAVE A PSYCHOLOGY BACKGROUND FOR 15 YRS.) I was written a check for a humiliating amount, but accepted the amount since we had already wasted 3 hrs of our day, and a 1 hr. Drive. These people assume for one reason or another we had came in with stolen or unlawful merchandise, and was not given the benefit of the doubt to even ask me for a business card or ask to look us up on line. Before leaving, I provided the business not only our non-profit information, but our business information as well. I advised him that despite his judgment for ether being female, Hispanic, gay, or not dressed in a suit..... I was the founder of the organization, and worked hand in hand with our town circuit court and Judge!!! Its a shame to be balked by peoples assumptions and bias, and I have no words to describe the bullying of 4 male staff members. I hope the store manager takes the time to read this, and learn that this business staff are out of place on how customers are treated.

I have seen this store in passing and thought it looked extremely interesting. Like the Ma and Pa term that we all use for stores that arent Wal-Mart or Target. So I got on my bike on my day off and road 6 mile to check them out. When I walked in it had a pawn shop vibe, not a music store. I walked around looking for some good vinyl or CDs and it was mostly main stream blah. I didnt even look at the prices because I could not find anything worth picking up. Finally an employee came up to me. The first words out of his mouth... Hey if your going to browse you have to check your bag. I work in security and I dont expect them to know that, but there were 2 to 3 others people in there with hand bags and back packs who were browsing like me. Why was I treated different? I gave him my bag with a rather displeased look and it was only after that that I received customer service. So I soon went to the front waited for the man to get off the phone to get my things and left. When I did I looked back to see no sign saying to check bags. This is the reason people go to Wal mart.

Been here several times over the last few months. The old records are always in good shape (no scratches/wear, covers in good condition), the staff is really nice to me and my daughter, and they didnt even flinch a muscle when she started banging on the drums (heck, they encouraged her!). The lady behind the Record counter is FANASTIC, and I always enjoy my talks with her. I make it a point to visit once a month, and I am glad to add Record Head to my to-do shopping list. Thanks! Edit *1/12/2015* Things have changed since I last reviewed this store. Staff scowled my daughter for banging on the drums (complete 180 over the fantastic treatment of the past), and I was looking to buy some used gear and noticed the "regular" price of the item was about 50$ above what the market sells for new. I inquired about this with one of the owners, and he had a terrible "take it or leave it" attitude. After spending a lot of hard earned money in the store over the past year, I am sad to say they lost my business. Wont be going again. The above 1 star = voting with my wallet.

Stopped in to look for a used pick up for an acoustic bass. This is not an easy item to find used. I asked the associate at the guitar counter if they had something like that, and the response was "a bass pick-up, well a pick-up is a pick and we don;t have any pick ups in stock at all" so I offered to be more specific just to help in the process, knowing that this may be a unique item, and i was told again, "a pick up is a pick up, and we dont have any" I feel that young man did not know what I was talking about and just did not have an interest in learning more about the item. Thanks but no thanks....and in general I do also feel the prices on instruments are a bit high.

Had the best experience at Record Head. I have been going to record head for a very long time, and this last experience did not dissapoint. I have bought many thing from Record Head, but have never sold. I brought in some music equipment to sell and was suprised that I was given a decent amount. Unlike Music Go Round where they buy for bottom dollar, Record Head gave me a decent amount in cash. Will continue to go back to this store, and recommend it to anyone in the area. Huge selection of music equipment, movies, music, computer equipment, and a few odd suprises!
