I bought a Kenwood home receiver on Ebay a while ago, after hooking it up to my kenwood home speakers and playing it for a few hours it was getting hot and cutting out. I was bummed and thought I got taken on a bad receiver. I was about to buy another one but decided to take it into Gier instead. I was glad I did, Ernie was great, he was very nice from the time I walked in. He was dealing with another customer but acknowledged my presence and told me hed be with me shortly. He had quite a bit of work there, he told me probably in a few days hed get to it, he called me the 2ND day and told me he played the receiver and it never cut out even after a few hours, then he went through it and tested all components. He advised me to bring in my wiring and speakers to see if maybe they were causing the issue. He told me right away after bringing them in the wires were to thin and inadequate for the receiver and speakers. He had some thicker speaker wire and he was able to give me what I needed along with some great advice. He could have really charged me for parts I didnt need or told me me receiver was bad, I wouldnt have known otherwise. I would come back to him anytime if I ever needed a TV or Stereo repaired. Its hard to find honest people who care and take time to explain what is going on. Im glad I didnt try Best Buy or something, because I doubt they would have found the solution like Ernie did. I had to pay the man for his time, but it was no problem as I would have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was wrong. If you got something high end that might be worth repairing, this is definitely the place.

Had a great conversation today with Ernie, who has been at this location since 1957 and was very knowledgeable. He was able to help me over the phone to diagnose the problem with my TV and he also helped to get me competitive pricing on a replacement TV. He covered several options and was very well versed in TV options. He told me he is 87 and has been doing this all his life, including time in Europe before immigrating to the United States in the early 1950s. Not only was he a joy to speak to, but he was very helpful at narrowing down the options for me. If you get overwhelmed at the big box stores with all of their options, do yourself a favor and give Ernie a call!
