This place is close to town which is probably the biggest and only pros of it. Service is pretty lame, only few service people working there, unless you are buying a motorcycle or equivalent, in which case the sales will cling to you for commission, you walk in and you are on your own. After purchase, no 3 year service package available, you call in for service department and get hold on for 10+ minutes for a impatient careless guy answering your call. Well, all this makes driving or riding a few extra mile to other places worthwhile. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What happened next: (Oct 5, 12) About two weeks after I posted my review for this place, the new manager of the services department called me up. Obviously he saw the email matching the record of purchase in their customer database which they all do nowadays. He apologized for my unpleasant experience with Engelhart and offered me a free checkup and adjustment on my bike as well as a bike wash. He looks sincere and try to improve the service quality. To better compensate my inconvenience, he also offered me a gift card of $20 value which I respectfully declined. I had a little chat with the technician who tuned my bike; he seemed to be technically efficient. I hope this place can improve fast under the new management.

So - here is why I will NEVER go back to Engelhart Motorsports again. I went in to look at another bike - and wanted to talk about trading in my 2003 R1 on Monday. I informed the salesman that I would like to stop back in on Wednesday to test drive the bike and could perhaps come back on Thursday or Friday if all looked good. On Tuesday I get the following email from the salesman (this is quoted from his email) " Im not trying to use hardball tactics here I assure you, Im just being transparent as I said yesterday. Because my manager is trying to meet an end of the month quota- he is only interested in a used R1 of that "vintage" and over 20,000 miles on it until tomorrow. After that he said he is no longer interested in taking in an older sport bike like that. Therefore, I absolutely have to have this deal finished with you by end of day tomorrow. " After returning and explaining how they cannot pressure me to buy anything because I love my current bike and I found their trade in offer to be insulting - they NOW want to add $500.00 to the offer BUT request I add another $1000.00 down to get the newer bike. This company in Madison, Wisconsin - located at 1589 Greenway Cross is a joke. They are out to steal from people and have no class when talking to respective customers who have spent thousands of dollars in the past in their establishment.

Over the years, my satisfaction with this business has become less and less. Many years ago, the owner came out of his office and walked around to every cash register collected the $$$$ and did not say one word to any customers. The sales people can be very condescending and arrogant. Their new and used product is overpriced. In addition, I found that Engelhart charges more than MSRP for some clothing and parts and accessories. I questioned this and they had no answer for me, nor would they discount the parts back to MSRP. Jeff the parts manager has some real issues. He is often angry, extremely arrogant and treats the customers very poorly. He is just not a friendly or helpful person. Find another job Jeff!! Some of the other staff are friendly, but they just dont deal on parts and/or accessories. I question the professionalism and the skill of the people in their service department. If they are so good, why did they lose the Arctic Cat and Sea doo lines? Go to Robs Performance in Johnson Creek, WI. Their sales staff is friendly, helpful and they will always give you 10% to 15% off of clothing and accessories. I hope this helps. Engleharts has lost my business and I buy products and service for 2 motorcycles, 2 jet skis and and 2 snowmobiles. I have taken my business elsewhere.

Engelhart’s Motor Sport’s is a QUALITY company that takes time out their day to give back to the community. Dan and Kathleen in the service department are FABULOUS!!!!! They took time out of their day to spend multiple hours with a student who is interested in becoming a small engine Mechanic. When I contacted the service manager, Dan, he was immediately willing to assist by completing a job shadow. When we came in for the experience both service manager and mechanics not only gave us a tour but we were able to complete a mock service entry from start to finish to give the student a hands on experience of the entire process from when the product enters the floor until the customer leaves with their fixed product. They truly made a difference on this child’s life current which will be lifelong. I not only appreciate what they did for this student but student’s to come. It is individuals like this that make a difference in our community. I will not only recommend them but will personally use them in the future. The truly provide quality work and are very knowledgeable in the profession.

Service Department: I have had several experiences with Ken in the service department, all of which have been fantastic. He is prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and makes me feel valued. I am always greet with a smile. I am a new motorcyclist and Ken took extra time to answer my questions and make me feel comfortable with my machine. Thanks for the great service! Parts Department: I was very excited to purchase my first motorcycle. I did a ton of research and knew which model was right for me. However I did not know what gear and accessories would be appropriate for the type of riding I planned on doing. Lee did a wonderful job of taking extra time to discuss the pros and cons of each piece of gear and used his knowledge to help me make great choices. I really appreciated the extra time and effort he put in. He then kept me in the loop as my gear came in and then also ensured it was all a good fit before I left the premises. Younger Jeff with short hair (I know there are 3) also helped me and did a great job. I will not hesitate to return to these awesome guys!

Everyone there has always been very professional. I love looking at all the eye candy machines. Their showrooms are awesome. I have never had a bad experience there, however I havent actually purchased very much. Their prices are premium. I tend to lean towards saving where I can. For example, I have a $150 gift certificate that I have been unable to use as of yet because I like to find savings and value. I thought that I could buy a new rear Dunlop tire and only pay a few extra dollars. Their cost was $243 (tire) + $45 (labor) + $40 (tube) = $328 - 150 (gift) = $178 (my balance). I chose to buy the exact same tire online $180 (tire) + $25 (labor) + $20 (tube if needed) = $225. The gift certificate would only save $47 of cost to me. In my mind, I lose most of the value of my gift certificate. I think that you can get the quality customer service that you are willing to pay for it at Englehart. I just cant always afford it.
