Anytime you walk into a furniture store and someone riskly walks up to you with a calculator in their hand, RUN! These guys sit there and do all sorts of BS math on the calculators giving you"deals". What they are really doing is marking their prices up and then giving you a "special discount" that still makes them more expensive than a lot of other stores in that area. We didnt realize this until after our horrible experience, though. We bought a couch from them and had it delivered two weeks later. One of the two companies they use to deliver is Home to Home. They showed up in an Enterprise rent-a-truck and knocked the crap out of my new couch before deciding they didnt want to try to get it up two more flights of stairs, claiming it wouldnt fit. It would have fit if they had been creative- I measured! They took my new couch back and still demanded payment. When we went back to the store to see what was going on the salemen and the manager were not helpful at all. We were willing to buy a smaller couch, one that was easier to get up the stairs, but the one we picked out was cheaper than the one we bought. They absolutely refused to give us the rest of the money back saying we had to take a store credit. They also suggested they use their OTHER delivery company to deliver the first couch, because they are more creative about getting it into places. However, we would have to pay this second company too! I was already out $75 from the first delivery attempt. Needless to say I will never shop their again and we are putting a stop payment on the couch. I refuse to pay for something that is still sitting at their store. DO NOT buy from these guys or ever use Home to Home delivery Service. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN OUT OF THERE! They are sketchy and untrustworthy! They will do anything to get your money!!!

We went down to JR Furniture after seeing their ad in the paper. A furniture set was listed as in stock and had a good price so we decided to buy it. They said they had 1 in stock until we actually purchased it when they changed their story to that they would get one in stock in a week. We called on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weeks and they said they couldnt find out order and that the set was still out of stock. The next week they ran the same ad in the paper that said the set was in stock. We called them up and they said that it was actually in stock although they still couldnt tell us why we had never been called about our furniture coming in. Finally one the 6th week we made it down there to pick up the furniture. They had us sign one more form and gave us poor directions to their warehouse area although they warned it might take 15-20 minutes. After finding the load/unload area, they told us to come back in an hour. An hour later we came back and they told us to come back in an hour. Finally we told them we werent going to wait so we went back ourselves and found one person in the warehouse talking on a cell phone. We got him to help us load the furniture. Just when I thought it couldnt get worse, the ONE person that appeared to be working in the warehouse dropped our sofa on the ground (about a 4 foot drop) and then slammed it on the back of our vehicle. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone for any purpose other than seeing how NOT to do business.

I went here to buy a sofa and a bed. While the salesman who greeted and worked with us was a little used-car-salesmanny, he actually got us a good deal on the bed, and we found a sharply discounted sofa/love seat combo. The quality of each piece appears to be very good. I also got the extended warranty because I have small children and pets. It looks pretty comprehensive, but since I havent used it, well, well see. Im sure I will find out soon enough! The delivery was fine, except the guys were about 5 minutes outside of (i.e. later than) the window they gave me. Note: they want to be paid in cash. The only problem I had with the purchase was that the salesman repeatedly told me that the bed I was buying didnt require a box spring. But when I got the bed, guess what? It needed a box spring. I called the store immediately and talked to my salesman, who admitted he had made a mistake, apologized, and offered me 10% off of a box spring. He also suggested to me to check out two other (and cheaper) options at other stores he knew about. I have to admit I was pretty amazed that he had the common decency to fess up and find a way to make things right, even if it meant sending me to another store. Overall, I think I would purchase from this store again.

Customer service is lacking at this store. I didnt see a soul in sight until I had walked up and down the isles for about 15 minutes and then I came up on a group of employees talking. 1 broke loose from the crowd to approached me so I told him what I was looking for, he wasnt helpful at all. He told me to look around and if I had any questions to ask him. What does he think I was doing before he approached me? I didnt need him to come up and ask me if there was anything he could help me find, just to be told to look around when thats what I was doing before he intruded on my search. Geez..if youre not going to help me dont pretend to offer to help, its very frustrating. Needless to say, my search ended and I just headed for the door at that point. I wouldnt have bought from them even if I found what I was looking for after that. I hate customer service that is fake, you can feel they dont really want to help you theyre just doing it because they have to and they have a poor attitude in the process. Dont recommend JR Furniture in Tukwila.

Brought furniture with JR last year at the Tukwila location. One of the furniture delivered had issues. I kept calling the store manager multiple times and send multiple messages. They kept saying some one is coming over to fix it and gave me appointments but no one showed up. After multiple follow-ups I gave up. Our experience during the sales process wasnt great either. The location head is very rude and doesnt have the compassion to talk to customers. The quality of the furniture is very bad compared to other stores we had brought from. Our sofa (supported to be top grain leather) has multiple issues. I have reported to them since the warranty people said they wont cover it. They had a technician come over and provide a report. I was asked to send pictures - which I didnt understand when we already provided all the information. We provided the info but no action. Tired of dealing with the shop. Do not recommend anyone to go through this experience again.

Customer service was excellent, they were not too pushy and we did not feel like we were hounded. HOWEVER...the owner Paul is very rude to his employees. As we were being helped, he would jump in with the answer in a rude tone. He could care less about his employees, I could see it in the way he never made eye contact with them and was looking away at something else while communication with them...that is unless you are a pretty blonde next to him, he gave that employee the respect that everyone else deserved also. His ego-centric nature is even more apparent when his parking spot is the best spot on the lot. The most accessible spot should be reserved for customers. Paul, get off your a** and at least pretent to care AND SMILE...my goodness, you are not all that! Also, I am the same race as him, so this is not a racist remark in any way. Actually I am embarrased that my race is being protrayed as a snotty buisiness owner.
