I had a very positive experience with OlyGeek when I went looking for a replacement AC adapter for my laptop. I went in and they were able to find me just what I needed in about 2 minutes, and it was in like-new condition and $20 cheaper than the cheapest new one from Amazon. We also had a pleasant (if nerdy) discussion about the local Linux community, since I am just starting to use Ubuntu a little. I am kind of shocked to see the other two negative reviews, but perhaps your experience will vary? It is hard for me to imagine that a non-profit trying to provide low-cost computing to the community would ever *knowingly* overcharge their customers. My advice would probably be to go in with some idea of what it is you need to buy (specifications are helpful) and a sense of price beforehand - which is probably good advice for most technical purchases, from cars to computers.

I used to send my users to this store all the time for cheap, used computer parts. Just yesterday I sent one of my users and found out that they had attempted to use her ignorance to take advantage of her. She needed a simple VGA to DVI adapter and it should have only been a dollar or two since they only cost about 4 bucks new. Instead they tried to sell her a cable and wanted to charge her 10 bucks. Happily, I had written down exactly what she needed and she was able to avoid being taken advantage of. I will either be calling or going down in person to have a word with the people there to explain to them very clearly that I am going to actively refer people AWAY from this business. If you need local computer help, please go to 4th Dimension instead. They can be pricey but they are trustworthy and knowledgeable.

This place will take full advantage of you. The computer I bought was very slow and out dated...so I went to 4th dimensions and bought a computer that was far superior and 10 dollars cheaper than what oly geek charged me..oly geek refused to give me a refund
