the books are in general departments but, not in any special order. they are on tables and you look through said tables. I love it. Ive gotten brand new, never read books, for as little as $1. its kinda like a treasure hunt. I go about once a week and come away with at least 10 books, each time. spending, often, less than $25. with the books costing so little, I can try writers I havent read before. they dont purchase books at the outlet so, when I get to the point where I have too many books, Ill go to the Tacoma store and sell them. if you like books, and like to read, go to the Half Price Books Outlet. you wont be sorry. oh, and comic books for 25 cents. perhaps once a month, they have a "fill a bag with anything in the store for $30. Ive come away with more than 30 books on that.

Why pay full price for books when you can get them for dollars or cents? The selection of the most popular books isnt always great, because theyll already be taken. However, if you stop by frequently, you can pick up some great bargain-priced books. For example, I picked up the Hunger Games trilogy for less than $3, brand-new, during one of their specials. I think it was $30 for as many books as you can put in a bag. The only reason why theyre not 5 stars is the selection, but maybe Im being a bit harsh considering what you actually do get here for what you pay.

My favorite place to browse. I love this store. It carries all the things I enjoy, books, DVDs, records for my old turntable, greeting cards. games, and a assortment of odds And ends which make great gift ideas all at the cheapest prices Ive ever seen. I can spend hours here and always walk out feeling good about how little money spent on my purchase. On top of that they have special events with even more savings, where everything in the store is only one dollar and bag days where you stuff a bag full for thirty dottars. nd ends

Friendly customer service, but this was the worst Half Price Books Ive been to. The books were separated by genre, but that was it. If youre looking for a particular author, youre going to have to look at every single book, theyre not in alphabetical order like at the other locations. The bathrooms looked like they werent cleaned in several days, and the store wasnt very clean.

Excellent prices on items new and used. I love 25c Tuesdays on their paperbacks. I went in recently to use my 50% off everything birthday coupon. Theres a nice variety of books, CDs, albums, cassettes, DVDs, comics, & small gift items. Be aware this location does not do trades/buys. They often run other sales promotions of 50% off everything, Fill a Bag, and $1 deals.

Every book you can think of is most likely here! They have awesome deals and their book prices are absurdly reasonable, hence the name "Half Price". DVDs and music also makes an appearance in the store. This is a great place to find a quick, inexpensive read or to spend the afternoon on a book hunt (the books are organized by genre, not author last name).

Quite simply, in my opinion, one of the greatest "gently-loved-books" bookstores in the universe. The staff is exceedingly helpful and kind... the cost of the books are a steal on any day, and then they have great sales that almost seem as if they pay you to take the books. There can be only one. Half-Price Books is that One.

Ive found so many things here its not even funny. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 is because they dont check the jewel cases for dvds and games. Ive opened a few cases that dont have the discs in them, and if youre not careful, youll buy a case with nothing in it.

One of our favorite bookstores. An outlet, so very cheap. A lot of what youll find is okay, but there are quite a few gems as well. Staff is nice and knowledgeable, good music and atmosphere. It has a good music selection, but not a good graphic novel selection.

This place tends to have the older cast off books but plenty GREAT reads! The staff was fine, not overly friendly, but the other patrons were rude and grabby. I thought that I was there during a major sale (I wasnt)! AMAZING deals...definitely worth the stop.

The staff are always willing to help and surprisingly know the books. My neighbor kids love Mongo and I got a full box for $ 15.00...it was a treasure trove...some of the books were selling for $ 10.00 on EBAY. AND 10 cent novels cant be beat.

Amazing prices on books, good selection, but no way to look up inventory so if you are looking for a specific book youre probably out of luck. Awesome place for browsing and finding unexpected treasures!

Always a good selection of new books. It occasionally has some good quality used books, also. Its a fun day trip from Portland that can be done in 6 hours or so.

The online store says it closes at 10 on the weekend but it has closed hours earlier for no apparent reason. Otherwise its great and their sales are fantastic.

Everything is so inexpensive! I got a bunch of DVDs, three books, a CD and an LP for about $7 total! Not incredible selection, but you cant beat the price.

Come here before going to dreaded B&N good selection. Could be organized better.. But one of my favorite places to get books
