Its a damn shame you cant leave no stars. After using the same check for a month at food lion, which is essentially the same as an ATM card, it just transfers the money from one account to the other instantly one day I got the nasty stink eye cashier who decided THIS TIME they wont let me use a check that has been used there before. SO I go get a check from my car that has not been used but has a number written in the box. I cross out the number and hand it to her. She calls a manager who refuses to take the check with 6.50 crossed out in the box. I say "but what if i am an old lady who made a mistake you would certainly take this check, its an immediate transfer, you give the check back anyways" BUT DO THEY WANT TO BE HELPFUL? OH HELL NO!!! SO I return to my car and finally find a check that is blank but has a missing corner. (Mind you my purse was stolen so I am waiting on new cards, new checks everything. and my bank M&T is in Richmond 1.5 hours away) So now they have moved my groceries created high unnecessary drama and half the store is starring. When she realizes its not a joke and i have no options she finally takes the ripped check after about 10 minutes of arguments. The manager is a totally rude put out woman with the social skills of a slug. I finally take my groceries only to get home to find they have not given me my chicken or my wine. I ask my on the way babysitter to grab those two items that they kept and when she stops she finds out they put my already paid for chicken back, its been resold there are no more and they tell her "she got her wine". A total lie. So they harassed me, ruined my day and stole from me all for no reason what so ever. I will NEVER GO BACK IN THIS STORE EVER AGAIN! WORST MANAGEMENT EVER! And really these are the rudest tellers on the planet. They go out of their way to comment on your groceries, and Ive gotten dirty looks for having the gall to get too much produce. You know the eye roll and they have to ask the next cashier over what a turnip is. Seriously do not go here!

They always seem understocked. They never have what other food lions have. The deli staff is usually very friendly and helpful, however the young girl that works it sometimes completely ignores customers. We stood at the counter for 10 minutes waiting for her to ask for our order, then left because it NEVER happened. Only good thing about this food lion is that is it close/convienent.

Food Lion replaced a very run-down supermarket in Scottsville with a fresh, clean, well-organized store that is a pleasure to use. Especially the vegetables and fruits section is well-managed and inviting. It doesnt have every single thing I want, but it takes care of most of it, and is a great local choice. Thank you.

Staff are always friendly, selection is broad enough to meet my needs most of the time and the store is sanitary. The old IGA was so horrific that Food Lion would have to make an extraordinary effort to offend me in any way. My favorite thing about Food Lion: it doesnt smell bad inside.

The store is clean and mostly well stocked. Their employees, including management have always been nice and polite to me. I just wish there was a nicer selection of items and better constant prices.

A good grocery for a small town. It has a good, if not expansive selection. But the food is fresh, and the store is always clean. Infinitely better than the old IGA.

A cashier harassed my wife for buying organic vegetables and milk here. Grocery stores sell groceries for profit--they dont cast judgment on customers.
