Listen, there are many places across America whose hidden agenda is to "tap into" or outright steal the disability checks of the mentally handicapped under the "guise" of helping them. This is just one with a fancy building that the citizens of Roanoke mistakenly financed. Well, its your money but it would be much better spent helping out the Salvation Army, which are an honest bunch. This place is staffed by authority abusers with a control problem. They do only as much "good" as it takes to maintain the appearance of legitimacy.. hello.. If you insist on continuing to finance it.. it DOES have possibilities. Might I suggest demanding a change of management and staff. However, if one is freezing, starving, hungry or needs a bath.. this will work on a temporary basis. Just dont be foolish enough to let them get their hands on your mail or check and watch your valuables closely. These things have a funny way of "selectively" disappearing and there is little recourse. Right Preacher? Shall we investigate this "non-profit" status and maybe see what the Social Security Admin thinks about it all? Find my check, I dont have time for this.

This place really helped me i was an alcoholic and a drug addict. They took me in and helped me a lot. Lets remember it takes money to provide clothing bed food medicines transportation classes to teach people how to change their lives mental health all this takes money yes they have been known to have their favorites and give up on people prematurely and some of the staff have no bussiness being there or in the positions they hold but i know ms Joy is a good woman i know her son Anders and his wife stephanie or excellent people the two staff members that need to go is steven and kim gembala they gossip about clients and are unprofessional as for those who have or currently do donate to the mission i thank you and God bless you if you are thinking about donating please do if you are in need of services give it a try but you have to want it bad enough to deal with hiccups un the organization they are just people trying to help thet do make mistakes be patient

the place is mean backbiters they help u only if you help your self they have no moral for christian upbringing and they will lie to your face avoid it at all cost the only good that will come from here is the free meals and bed at night but its very strict chapel then u can eat which is bs

They provide a shelter but to be honest you have better food and accommodations in jail. The people that come thru there are more people that give homeless the bad image that we are use to seeing instead of the true face of homelessness.

A wonderful place to volunteer! The people who live there are so appreciative of the volunteers serving them dinner, etc.! Volunteering there is a terrific way to feel good about oneself! I would highly recommend it!

I was very impressed. I went with a friend who needed dental work and financially couldnt afford it. They worked with her. The place was clean, they did a good job and they were quick and very friendly too.

I have gone to the mission for the food pantry and I dont want to go back anymore. The front desk staff was so mean to me for no reason today and certainly dont appreciate their extreme missionary style.

The staff are very helpful and truly care about the women who walk into the WCC. They offer every service they have available and are always willing to listen or help with a problem if they can.

I completed the substance abuse program at the mission and after completion I became a staff member. Their program saved and changed my life. I will be forever grateful.
