Retro Electronics & Computers, or REC is located over in Portsmouth inside the Big Red Barn Flea Market building. Retro games if you didnt know are hotter than ever and I found this little gem last month while looking for retro N64 games on Craigslist. Since it was my day off I took a quick drive over. Im already in Chesapeake so it was just a short drive down S. Military Highway, over to Canal, then 17, then Victory Blvd. I dont think it took more than 15 minutes to get there. There was plenty of parking on the side of the building once I arrived and the shop is located in the back of the Big Red Barn building. I met the owner however Im afraid Ive forgotten his name. I want to say Cliff but dont hold me to that. However hes a nice guy and we were talking about technology and such in short order. I found a couple of dirt cheap N64 games. He had games for many platforms, Nintendo, Sony, Sega, Xbox, etc. In addition to games he also had consoles, as well as some computers, memory and all sorts of other electronics. There was a fairly good sized area full of DVDs and Blurays as well. Prices were more than fair. I picked up a few N64 games for $20 bucks and one of the games was worth that much by itself. Needless to say I was happy with my purchase and Im definitely adding REC to my rotation of retro gaming shops.

The owner Cliff is a cancer on the local gaming community and he puts the "cuss" in customer service. He is a complete dirtbag who gets hostile and verbally threatens customers with physical violence and legal repercussions in the same sentence over any little disagreement. Very unprofessional. Avoid at all costs. Its all overpriced junk and there are much better deals to be found nearby at legitimate businesses that are in good standing in the local gaming community. Just check this stores reviews on Facebook to see the owner responding like a complete ass with racist and homophobic insults and threats to anyone who voices their concerns. Thanks for the recommendation but no, I will not be removing my review. I recommend you remove your phony business.
