I had heard good things about Wilcox Bait and Tackle. I spoke with Tom and informed him that I wanted to purchase my bow through him. I asked Tom if he could come close to matching the discounted price that I can get through his competitor (10%) and he said that he would. We agreed about a $100 discount on a Hoyt Faktor Turbo and I placed my order. I decided to go with the Hoyt Faktor 30 and called Tom on the phone to discuss the price again. I get a 10% discount from a local competitor, but I wanted to buy from Wilcox because of their reputation. Tom wouldnt agree to a 10% discount but did agree to a discount on the Faktor 30 (which was a bit less than the Turbo). After several weeks the bow came in. Tom called me and informed me that my bow was in. I asked him if I could come in that weekend and he said yes. I called the following Saturday and Tom was busy skinning raccoons. He was rude and relatively short with me and informed me that he would call me later Saturday morning. He never bothered to call me back. I called him on Monday (3/3/14) morning and he was able to get me in to set my bow up that afternoon. I did not purchase my rest or sight from Wilcox because they did not carry the ones I wanted. After setting up my bow Mr. Wilcox and I began discussing the price. He would not discount the bow at all and brought up the fact that I did not buy any accessories from him. His accessories are priced significantly higher than other places. When I paid for the bow Mr. Wilcox informed me that he did not charge me for the string loop and said, "no hard feelings." Are you kidding me.... the string loop. I will not be going back to Wilcox and I do not recommend this business. If youre looking for a good price on a bow check with Justin or Ryan over at Ocean Bait and Tackle.

Walked in the door and I was immediately greeted by people asking to assist me. I worked with a guy talking about buying a Mathews HTR I think he might be in the Air Force. I didnt decide to pull the trigger just yet but I will be back. The guy helping me took a second to help out a another customer so I moved down to the gun counter to take a look at some hand guns. I was helped by a older looking lady who was shockingly, extremely knowledgeable about pistols. I have to say this little store is awesome and is packed full of things to look at. I read the reviews below and I have to say that Joseph Kay is a troll!! He or she has only given 1 stars to everything that he or she rated. If you are going to go to Wilcox when it is slammed with customers give them a break they will help you as soon as they can. From what I have seen they do their very best to treat every customer with respect and to meet all your needs. I will defiantly be back to get that Mathews HTR and to use the indoor range on a rainy day.

I have been a LOYAL customer for many years now! Tom and his staff are second to none I moved away from VA 4 years ago and I try not to buy from anyone else. Tom took it very personal when I came in just 2 days before bow season (4yrs ago) with a bow that had a factory defect and blew up and he made sure I was taken care of and made it to the woods for opening day. I can say enough about this man and his business. I support the people that support me, my friends and family. To this day I may live 600+ miles away and I drive by the other sporting goods stores daily but I do all I can to give my business to Wilcox. Tom is by far the best person I know and his employees enjoy their job just as much as he does. If you havent visited this place yet I suggest you do so and tell them ALAN ANDERSON sent you.

Went there just to look at home defense items, but wound up making a big purchase. The "boss" as everyone kept referring to him as, assisted me from start to finish. I dont know anything about weapons and he took the time to show me his personal recommendations as well as something that fit my personal need and the size of my hand. He was busy with two other customers, not including myself, and he still made time for all of us. I did not feel neglected one bit. I thought as a female that he would just push me aside and deal with the men, but he didnt and that made me feel really good. I appreciated all of his help and recommendations. Should I need anything else, I will definitely go back.

I went there August 26th at 3pm when I had an appointment on the 27th at 6 am so I was just a little anxious on getting my new halon 6 so I had wanted to go in early. I couldnt be happier with my experience. Tom was very helpful with my bow set up and answered every question I had. Im not from Virginia and I said once I get out the military there wouldnt ever be a reason for me to leave Georgia again, well tom and his staff gave me a reason yesterday. I love this place and highly recommend it to anyone. Just a bit of advice, make an appointment and try your best to stick to it because they do get really busy and Tom wants to give you his undivided attention. Tell them Scotty sent you.

I went to Wilcox last week to purchase my first bow. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Tom Wilcox as soon as I walked in, was polite, patient, and helpful. I told him what I was thinking, and I told him it was my first bow. He was honest and said he didnt really think I needed all the bells and whistles I thought I did. He asked me what I wanted to use it for, and customized a rig right there on the spot. Then he took me upstairs and taught me how to shoot my new bow. All the while he was getting pulled in 1000 different directions, and being asked a million questions. Great organization and people that will keep hunting alive in this area. Thank you for everything.

OK TO BE HONEST THE OWNER IS A GREAT GUY, THEY LACK THE COMMON COURTESY TO INFORM A CUSTOMER OF CHARGES BEFORE THEY DO "WARRANTY WORK". AND THE BALD GUY BEHIND THE COUNTER IS SO RUDE I CANT EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE IT! RUDE RUDE RUDE! AND THEN TRIED TO DENY IT WHEN I CONFRONTED HIM AND HE ACTED LIKE I WAS THE PROBLEM! NOW THE OWNER DID TRY AND FIX THINGS BUT EVEN AFTER THAT WHEN I CAME BACK THE BALD GUY WAS CURT AND SHORT EVEN THOUGH I WAS OVER NICE!!! ME WISHING HIM MERRY XMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR HIM JUST GRUNTING IN REPLY???? I PERSONALLY WILL NEVER AGAIN BE BACK.

I shopped for my first bow at Wilcox. They were amazing! Care was taken to make sure I could try multiple bows and I was basically given a free lesson. The bow was properly fitted to me and felt great! I was not automatically pushed to the most expensive of everything. I was told the pros and cons of everything and the prices were all fair. At the end, after Id already decided on a bow, they told me a price lower than expected due to it being a close out. Hows that for treating a customer right?? You wont go wrong going here!
