Sir
This target in Newport News (zip 23602) has some very racist and questionable employee practices that lead me to believe that they racially profile. On 5 November 2016, I purchased 2 boxes of huggies pampers and was asked to show my receipt as I was exiting the store. The tone of the young man seemed less than pleasant and bordering on the edge of suspicion. After displaying my receipt I took several steps forward and before walking completely out of the store, I witnessed seven entire families and two individuals walking out, family by family and cart by cart. I waited for them to exit the store, as I was about half-way out myself, before I walked towards this gentleman once more. I asked why was I the only person asked to show my receipt before leaving and the expression on his face was though he was caught. As he stuttered and began to mumble, he hesitantly said your items weren’t bagged. I told him that seemed coincidental. As I walked towards customer service, he immediately walked away and returned a couple of minutes later. After requesting to speak with the manager on duty, I watched three more individuals walk out, two of which had pampers that were not bagged and they weren’t even asked to show any receipt. The difference between me and these customers was that I am an African American male and every other customer that I observed for approximately ten minutes were all white. The employee’s name was Raheem and not only did he seem dishonest and racist be he was also African American as well. I will never step foot in that Target as long as I am able-bodied and of sound mind.

Target has an unpublished return policy, which is unethical, and highly suspect. They also practice a frustrating policy of placing a firewall between every level of authority, making any attempt to find a resolution to any issue virtually impossible. Ask for a supervisor - You might be successful in there in fact being one available, but if arriving at a solution requires a manager Asking for a manager - If this person is on sight then youre extremely lucky, but if theyre not, or they are unable to assist in a resolution, youre left to ask the question(s) Who is the .... and How do I contact them? This is where you enter the world of screw the customer completely. You get a first name only, which is of no practical use, given you will be refused any further information, such as; a last name, phone number(s), email address, or even an address for an office to send - yes, a letter. You will be directed to the customer relations number, however, they too will refuse to provide you with anything more than email, which is - wait for it - a generic customer relations email dump. Call corporate and its a mirror of the toll free number. Ask for a supervisor on any of the customer relation numbers and the damn process begins again. Its a Target middle finger to your concern.

Could not find everything I needed and asked several "red shirts" but three could not help me ("sorry, I work in a different department/ Im new and dont know) and a fourth person sent me across the store to find a fly swatter ("it is at the end of that dividing wall where the can openers and that are...") - can openers and all sorts of other little nifty household tools I found but no fly swatter. I gave up! Well, not quite: I did find a curtain rod and curtains, a shower curtain and -rings, a table lamp, LED light bulbs, liquid soap, some yummy berries, bathroom shelves, body wash and, yes, fathers day cards all this for about $280. Is it too much to ask for a little constructive customer service. I understand if Target doesnt carry everything I may want to puchase on any given day, but why do I have to spend so much time on a dollar-fifty item and then still not get it here. Could it be possible for a store associate to say, "l dont know where this item would be, if we even carry it, but Ill find out for you."

I am completely disgusted with Target and the customer service that Newport News VA Target store has to offer. I will never shop here again. I will let my friends and family know everything and hopefully they lose more customers. I got paid on Friday December 13th, 2013. Since that pay day I have not been paid yet. When I call the store, I get crappy customer service and Im left to feel like I am wrong for calling about MY check that I worked hard for. I try to call corparate and any number associated with Target and all you get is a dialtone. Yes I have quit Target and I will never work there again. Nor will I shop, drive by, or look at the store again. I hate Target and the Newport News Target Store managers.

We bought a writing desk. A major part was missing. The instructions gave us a number to call to replace the parts. The instructions had a Target logo. Called the number - couldnt help us. They transferred us to Guest Relations who told us they couldnt help either and that wed have to contact the vendor. We discarded the box since it included instructions on how to replace missing parts. Cant return the product now because we dont have the box. My bad for following directions from Target. My bad for buying from Target in the first place...should have realized what their priority is when they had the privacy breach. WARNING - dont rely on the instructions or Guest Relations to help!

Been on the phone for over a month and four times now trying to get money refunded from Christmas deliveries never sent. Just got charged for INTEREST on products I 1. never got, 2. requested refunds for well before Christmas. Definitely never shopping with Target again. Price cuts mitigated by terrible customer service. And called customer service and got NO HELP what so ever in solving this issue. I guess theyre using the same customer service in the Phillipenes as Sears. Never go here. Never shop here. Unless you plan on paying double for what youre buying and never getting your money back.

This is your basic Target, has almost everything you need, but the maternity section is seriously lacking. Customer service is on point if you treat them like people- Ive witnessed them being abused by far too many "guests", so make sure you smile and say thank you and they will bend over backward to help resolve any issues!

The store tends to be disorganized, especially towards later hours, like 9-10 pm. I cant blame the employees entirely - Im sure the customers are not easy to deal with, putting merchandise down in really random places. Its a Target, so standard fare. You can find some good deals on the clearance shelves.

I was at the targets Starbucks store. I asked for a cup of water and waited for freaking 30mins and they did not care to give what was asked for. Worst part is they were not even busy and there were two girls working. Worst service from Starbucks I have ever faced all my life!

This is Target, better than Walmart but not the agreesive pricing. The store associates seem to have a better attitude and genuinely happy to help you. If you pick through the clearance racks enough you might even get a GREAT deal! Imagine that.
