I frequently go to this store for basic supplies, like cat and dog food, and occasionally I walk out with a few fish. When I walk in there it is clean most of the time and many employees are busy walking around the store getting into something productive. However, the fish section needs a little more attention than they are giving it. Usually some of the tanks have algae stuck to the glass. I see a few dead fish here and there. Even though you may be busy with something at the moment, you can take a few seconds to take a dead fish out. But overall the fish seem healthy and happy. The reptiles are my main concern, as they get almost no attention compared to the small and animals and birds. Ball Pythons are hidden in hides, but I can still clearly see how emaciated they are. The employees may be blaming the way they look on them refusing to eat. This is natural to come across in babies. But these Pythons are bit older than babies. I believe that they are refusing food because they are trying to feed them frozen mice. Ball Pythons are not known to eat frozen mice. In fact, they wont even try at times. Granted, the snakes are being fed, but the wrong kind of food, and that is why they will not eat. Im sure that if you drop a live mouse in there, they would instantly eat it up. This Pet Smart does not have a puppy room (I dont think), but it does have a kitty room. It is mostly comprised of metal cages against a wall for people to walk past and see. But the metal cages are fitted with soft blankets and towels and pillows for comfort, a few toys to play with, and a clean litter box. I took notice that each cage, not just the litter box, are cleaned daily, and the cats are allowed a limited time out side of the cage. (As a side note, the cats are rotated through out shelters and placed here temporarily for a better chance of adoption.) People say they look miserable, but that is only because they want to play with someone and want to come with someone. Overall, this store is great for basic needs for cat, dogs, reptiles, birds, fish, and small animals with a huge selection of food and everything. I enjoying coming here often, however, I only with they would care for their reptiles a bit more.

DO NOT BUY BIRDS HERE. If you are looking to purchase a bird, please do so from a reputable breeder - this was our biggest mistake. Here is the story of Connor: On August 20th, we bought a "Fancy Conure" at this PetSmart location. By September 12th (just 23 days later) we had to put our sweet baby Connor to sleep. As I write this, I am crying and heartbroken. We had a vet appointment with a bird vet we found on September 5th once we realized there was something wrong with Connor. We had to wait 4 days for the appointment in part due to the Labor Day holiday (bird vets are not easy to find). The vet wrote us a letter stating that he believed the bird was sick when we bought him. PetSmart has a policy that you can return the bird within 14 days. We did not want to do this - we loved our bird, but we were hoping for help with the vet bills. We were told no, as it was on day 15 that we called. Connor was started on 2 antibiotics and was not getting better. We took him to another vet in town who diagnosed him with bornavirus which is nearly 100% fatal. This vet also told us she believed Connor was sick when we purchased him. I believe Connor became ill either from another bird at PetSmart or came to PetSmart with the virus from wherever they are getting their birds. I do not wish this heartache on anyone, please do not make the mistake that we did. If you want to have a bird in your life, please get a bird from a reputable breeder. There are breeders that will test specifically for this virus. I believe we gave Connor the best life we could in the short time that he had with us and he definitely enriched ours. At least he did not die alone and unloved in a cage at PetSmart.

I have been to the grooming salon a couple of times with my dogs to have their nails trimmed and ground smooth. Each time, I have called before going and it is quite obvious that whoever answers the phone can not stand her job. Each time I have tried to schedule an appointment, I get cut off and immediately told they are booked for the day. So I ask about just having their nails trimmed and she is rude when she tells me the cost and I ask about walk-in services. I realize now why I have been using Care-A-Lot instead of Petsmart. I cant stand to have someone speak rudely to me when Im trying to offer them money for their services!! I even started this conversation with "Good morning, how are you?" The couple of times I have used them, there is one rude girl in there who just has no personality at all...I didnt even take time to know her name. The rest of the groomers seemed nice, but the girl up front who answers the phone and greets the customers is not someone I would recommend dealing with.

This place is OK. A great selection of fish and the grooming area for pets is nice. I had a really bad experience with the grooming area. I brought my two dogs in for grooming. one was a bit more time intensive than the other. I had asked the question to make absolutely sure that one would not be kenneled the whole time the other was being groomed. I was told that they would be groomed at the same time. When I went to pick up my two dogs my lab was still wet. I had asked what had happened? The staff had lied my lab was in the kennel the whole time waiting to be groomed, and I did not get one courtesy call. This was unprofessional, rude and inconsiderate. In realization that every business has off days I called recently to get my dogs ears taped. The employee gave me a price and said it was a walk in service. When I had brought my puppy to the grooming salon, I was turned down saying they did not do the service there at all. Last straw. Will never bring my pets here again.

Marissa in the grooming department is TERRIBLE. First she schedules my dogs grooming appointment on the wrong date. I had to practically argue with her to take my dog on the correct date. Then, she charges my miniature schnauzers grooming for a Standard Size Schnauzer. 6 weeks later, I make an appointment with someone else and Marissa overhears my conversation and starts ARGUING with me on what size MY dog is and mentions to get a ruler out to measure him. Are you kidding me!? No, buddy youre not going near my dog. Marissa has awful customer service skills and I will be sure to NEVER use her or recommend her if I even decide to bring my business back to this PetSmart.

They did not have the medication I needed for my puppy. I asked for recommendations for a similar product. Thankfully I looked up reviews on the product before buying it and giving it to my dog because the reviews were absolutely terrible and has resulted in harsh side effects in dogs ranging from extensive vet bills to even a few deaths. I will do my shopping online starting now because clearly a recommendation in store from an employee would not have ended well for my puppy. It would be great for them to know about products before suggesting the to customers.
