We waited an hour for our food. Then asked to speak to a manager. We waited over 10 minutes for a a woman named Sam. She only came out after I got angry with our server. She came out and told me she wasnt aware there was a problem even though I had heard them tell her we were getting upset. Tables that had veen seated after us were finishing there food. The food was terrible. It has been sitting under hit lights. The manger sam offered to have what we didnt like remade. But now at the hour and a half mark since ordering in a resturant with less than 10 tables, I didnt want to wait any longer. No apologies. She didnt care. Dont patronize this place. Go across the street better food, serve and staff at cheddars. Was eating before I could finish this review.

I had my wife and daughters with me and the server seemed annoyed by us almost immediately. My youngest spilled her water and the response was less than acceptable as she sat there with water and ice all over the table for about 15 mins. I apologized to the server about the spill. We asked for extra napkins about 5 times before he eventually would bring 1 or 2. My wife never got a refill on her cofee, daughter didnt have her water replaced, and when my oldest daughter accidentally tipped her yogurt over the server asked me if I did it (I think he could see i was not happy with the service at this point and probably thought i knocked it over to be a jerk). I regret tipping as much as I did but this has truly tarnished our opinion of this establishment.

A couple of years ago I applied for a waitress/hostess job with past experience got called for an interview the hiring manager was very rude and unprofessional. I had also prior law enforcement before moving back to the area he pre judged me before the interview begain at the time I just needed a job to feed my kid. This guy pretty much asked me after looking at my resume and portfolio was I trying to be the FBI. Cleary he had issues with law enforcement maybe he was a crook or he couldnt cut it in the field. That was the most uncomfortable weirdest interrogation ever... I wont be spending any money there, so I unfortunately wont have the experience of trying the great food Ive heard so much about

Very poor! The chef has no clue how to fry an egg. A sunny side egg was almost inedible with badly scorched white - which is not digestible. Too much aimless haste and absolutely no respect for the food being prepared. The biscuits were the only portion of breakfast that had any taste - praise the jelly because the gravy has no taste at all. Anything that would have been a highlight of breakfast has been ruined at this place. The service also sucks. Coffee was cold and not replenished at all during breakfast. The manager evidently wishes he was elsewhere....the place has no management at all! Time has passed since we last ate at Cracker Barrel and now we recall why. Never again! NEVER AGAIN!

worst experience me and my husband have had in a long time food was terrible the waitress brings their own our salad with no salad dressing had to wait 15 minutes for dressing. Then by the time she brought our dressing our meal came. Then she sees I wasnt even halfway done with my dinner and she brings my dessert along with the ticket so she made me feel like I had to rush through my dinner all we wanted to do was have a nice quiet relaxing stress-free meal and we couldnt even have that we couldnt enjoy any of it the only thing that actually tasted decent was the desert very bad service dont think I will come to that restaurant ever again they suck

The Newport News cracker barrel has some pretty decent food like all of the other Cracker Barrels. The Hostess was very nice. However when I was seated everything went downhill. Our server didnt see us for 30 minutes. Then when she took our order we didnt see her for he rest of the night, we had to pull another waiter to get us our food and drinks. Then when we finished the previous waiter came and told us that we needed to pay so she can go home in a very rude way. I would understand if the place was packed, however there was only 4 other families in there with us. I like cracker barrel, but I probably wont be coming back to this one.

Liked nothing! Near Patrick Henry Mall...The Thursday turkey special: turkey was overcooked, hard, and dry, gravy was over salted, smallest portion steamed broccoli Ive ever been served anywhere. Server was slow and kept forgetting our requests. I complained to manager about the turkey, she took it and brought back grilled chicken breasts that were burn on the outside. We kept requesting butter and jelly for the bisquits and corn muffins and it finally arrived after the bread was cold with butter so cold and hard it couldnt melt on the bread. I would fire the cook and retrain the server. At least he was nice.

We went for breakfast on 7/29/17, and our party was seated rather quickly. However, the waitress took forever to get to us, and when she did, was unable to get any part of the order correct. At one point, I asked her for a refill of my coffee, and 30 minutes later, still had no coffee. The bacon was all flavorless and overcooked, the food was all cold, and she forgot several parts of our order, including biscuits, syrup, fruit, coffee, water, and gave us a plate of food we did not order. The waitress name was Morgan, and she did such a bad job that we will never be returning to Cracker Barrel again.

If youre looking for southern comfort foods, you can surely get it all here. There were quite a lot of suggestions, plates, and specials as well as those you could order to take home like spiced apples (always delicious). Our server though was a bit forgetful and one of the sides took basically to the end of the meal to come out (needed reminding). Other than that, the food was still pretty good and left us plenty full for a fair price. Having to wait to pay behind other ppl just shopping their country store is a bit annoying, but thats the whole shtick of this chain.

My friend and I totally enjoyed or visit to this Cracker Barrel. Our waitress was wonderful, so pleasant, brought extras before we would have to ask for them, she knew what was popular with the food choices we choose. I like that. She has to be the only waitress Ive had to tell the person preparing the bacon how I like it. All making our dinning experience great. The Country Store is one of my favorite places to shop. There were some awesome sales in there yesterday, and I wanted it all. I had to narrow my pickins down to only two, but the looking was fun.

We go to this location out of convenience. Generally the service is just okay. We were in last night around 7:40pm (10/27/2015) and we had the best service we had ever experience at this location. Had we had this server any other time, this location would get a 5-star rating. However, she brought it up to 3 stars from where is has historically ranked at about 1.5 stars. The food is NEVER hot. Last night she must has made sure to warm everything before bringing to the table. They need to hang onto her - she is a gem!!
