This is a must if you are visiting the Lancaster PA area. The Turkey Hill Experience is well worth the price of admission Adults $ 9.95 and Children $ 7.95 for a tour of the facility and the history behind Turkey Hill Dairy and manufacturing. The Experience gives you access to unlimited sampling of their Ice Teas and hard ice cream. If you are not pressed for time and are able to get into a time slot without having to wait very long. The Taste Lab is also available and is only $ 5.00 more which gives you a chance to become a mixer( Think of Cold Stone ). You will receive a scheduled time to attend a Classroom session with the Turkey Hill staff. Where you will be able to make your own ice cream, using over 20 flavors, approximately 15 toppings and 20 or so crumbled mixes. When everyone had a chance to create their own flavor. The staff places your creation in a hardener after which you will be able to consume the very flavor you have created in a pint container. So dont over indulge on the freebies, save room for your own creations. You are also able to create, the flavor profile, packaging for your new flavor and record a commercial to promote your ice cream. ***This is just like creating your own candy bar at Hershey*** another great stop along the way

This was a great experience. I have no idea how the 1/2 star reviews got there, almost nothing from there is true. There is a gift shop, and you do learn the process of how ice cream is made. My family took about 90 minutes to complete the tour; 60-90 is expected. Samples of iced tea and ice cream are provided, and you can get as much as you like. Other cool things include make your own commercial, creating your own flavor, several games, and more. The tour is also more meaningful if you have an slight interest in history. The only downside is the price, but given the amount of samples you can get, it is worth it. Overall, I would recommend it to just about everyone. If you are visting the Lancaster area, it would be a very fun activity.

This was fun overall for the entire family. Parking can be a nightmare as the lot is nowhere near large enough, so plan perhaps on looking for street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. The price to get in felt high but I guess for the time you will spend there it might not be so bad. Lots of interactive things to do for all ages, and of course the ice cream making class was a hit for everyone. You can bring you ice cream you made to go but plan on getting it into a cooler as soon as you leave the site or it will be mush before you get home. You can make a customized online ice cream product along with your own video and then watch it later which is neat (you can also download it and save it forever if you want).

My kids love this place and thats why Im giving it the high ranking. Its not much, but they pull it off well. Price - Around 10 bucks a person for the basic tour and then the "create your own" ice cream experience costs extra. Experience - Youll see the history of Turkey Hill, and get to play with many interactive displays that have you "create your own" ice cream. I skip the create your own portion and let my kids play with the exhibits. its roughly about a two hour experience. You also get free samples of ice cream and iced tea. If you factor that into the price, its pretty fair for a large family. Again, skip the create your own portion of the trip and you have a fun half day trip with the kids.

The Turkey Hill Experience and Lab is, in my daughters words, "so worth the money." I would have to concur. Unlimited ice cream samples, unlimited tea and lemonade samples, a create your own ice cream lab that actually teaches you something, and a gift shop that is not outrageously priced. These are the highlights of Turkey Hill. There is also quite a lot to learn about the history of the company and ice cream creation in general. How the product is pasteurized to how its flavored to how its packaged and shipped....all in all you could spend a good 2 to 3 hours in there easily. I would definitely recommend it to families, kids, and kids at heart.

Great place for kids and the family! A $9.95 adult admission includes unlimited free samples of select Turkey Hill ice cream and tea - a really great treat. There are several things to do like design your own flavor of Ice cream, the carton, and film a commercial for it. Its a good to spend a couple of hours and seems to occupy the children well. Though I did not do the taste lab experience, Id probably recommend it. Its $5 more, but the experience without it seemed a bit chaotic, disorganized and lacking beyond the whole making an ice cream flavor. Nevertheless, this is more geared toward kids and a must see for sure.

This is a very small place but fun none the less. Theres a tea area that teaches you about different types of tea / offers free samples. The rest of the experience is based around ice cream. Along with fun facts you can sample ice cream flavors for free. We spent the extra $5 for the taste lab where you can make your own pint of ice cream. You get vanilla ice cream to start with and they have a ton of extracts, syrups, and toppings to flavor it. Dont fill up on samples before hand because you dont get a lid to take your pint home, it melts pretty quickly so you kinda have to eat it before you leave.

This was a great time. We got to make our own ice cream flavors and eat them. Theres more to do here than you might expect. Lots of history of the Turkey Hill company, information on the processes they go through to make and distribute their products, and games (including video games) for the kids to play that educate on the types of healthy and unhealthy bacteria that the company and ice cream lovers encounter on a daily basis. Make sure you get there with enough time to spare, as parking is limited. They will shuttle you from the local high school, but thats a little over a mile away.

Great for kid/grand kids. The actual part where you make ice cream is somewhat informative but is basically a bit of money for the same TH ice cream you could buy for less at the store. The museum part was a definite plus given the way it mixes information on how the business started/grew with food and nutrition facts. On balance was glad we made the trip, but would not recommend traveling far for just this. We coupled the TH Experience + ice cream lab with a trip to the Dutch Apple Theater which is about 15 minutes away for a great day trip to Lancaster

Fun Family Time. We where looking for something to do with the kids. This hit the mark. We have 3 kids under 10. They all loved it. Even just the free all you can eat Ice Cream samples and Ice Tea would have made them happy. but the make your own interactive Ice Cream and all of the interactive Exhibits where great. the Fact they could run around and do what they wanted....was great. all of the Exhibits where kid friendly and clean. if you are looking for something to do with the kids for day. this makes a fun family trip.
