Took in a fitness tracker just needing a battery; Employee offered to replace said battery and engaged in casual conversation about the device, but never asking me or informing me they "cannot replace" batteries in waterproof objects "without destroying the waterproof barrier". I didnt know this as I had replaced the battery many times with no issue, especially with water. The tracker was instantly ruined when I used it as intended, to swim. Employees did not seem to care they had broken it, blaming me instead, did not care it was an irreplaceable gift, and actually threatened to destroy my phone in the process. They also informed me that they break and do not guarantee that they can fix iPhone screens, and that they "break them all the time". Like another reviewer, I found it odd that they wanted me to send this item to their corporate chain, especially when signs outside announce iPhone screen repair. The employees also acted banal about it and did not look concerned. Instead of trying to fix the issue, or even apologizing, they became rude and aggressive. Contacting the manager did not leave one feeling like anyone cared about the actions of their employees, and insisted the people I interacted with were not the men I described, or that employees at another store described--or even the man listed by that same name in their local website. I seriously doubt people wandered in and decided to pretend to be retail employees, and if any actions were taken in terms of disiplinary action, no one informed me. I was merely told I was mistaken on who I talked to and told I could ship in the item. Since it was a sentimental gift no longer in production and their stellar service in store, I have no reason to believe shipping it to them will be it fixed nor would it be returned. The item was around $200; The battery was $4.20. When this happened, corporate, and not a store manager, should have been involved with this very serious issue, from employees of Batteries Plus, owned by Duracell, threatening to break you phone, breaking them in repair, and misleading customers. Having worked retail, and after calling the cops on said employee, I know this is not acceptable. General managers main concern was a bad public review but still offered no solutions or apologies so much as accusations. No one offered to replace them item, instead I was informed Id have to ship it to their headquarters and let them decide if it was broken enough to count as defunct. Avoid this store and for the love of everything NEVER let them replace your battery because a knife is NOT a screw driver and I promise, youll do a fine job at home with a YouTube video. As for Batteries, Amazon sends things in Richmond same day--and no one will threaten to break more of your stuff out of anger of having broken it before. Sorry Batteries Plus.

I used to be a big fan of Batteries Plus. For years and years I just loved walking in with a need and walking out a fews minutes later with a solution. Unfortunately over the past year things have changed for me. Last summer I needed an LR44 for a travel alarm that I have had for over 10 years. I think that I might have put 2 batteries in the clock since I bought it. The Batteries Plus battery didnt make it through the year. I thought something was wrong with the clock! I popped a Duracell in the clock and a little over a year later its still working fine. About a month ago my FIOS battery died - again. The original was a 2008 vintage. I replaced it with one from BP last November. It died in 11 months. The people at the store did NOT make it easy for me to get a new one under the terms of their LIMITED one year warranty. I was not pleased with the service that I received. I was also not pleased that I had to make multiple trips to the store to accomplish the swap-out. The final straw for me was this week. The battery in my Hampton Bay ceiling fan control died. The original battery lasted about 3 years. The replacement battery I got from BP died in less than 6 months. Sorry to say; BP does not deliver value.

Stay as far away from this place as possible if you are trying to replace the screen of your Smart Phone. It is now clear to me that they use the fact that they offer some of the lowest costs for screen replacement because they intend to not properly replace the screen so that they can charge you a second time ($130) when the phone does not work.... We brought in our I-phone 6 s plus to have the cracked screen replaced. Within a week it became apparent that they did not properly secure the ribbon cables on the replacement screen because intermittently the touch response would not work temporarily and there would be white lines displayed also intermittently... It is well documented that this is a problem for this model phone and can easily be fixed by re-securing the ribbon cables at no additional cost in parts... However two employees insisted that wed have to pay an additional $130 after the original $130 I already paid. I should have become suspicious when they insisted they needed to keep the aftermarket screen I purchased from another company for "Their Inventory" even after charging me full price for another replacement screen.

Batteries look good but the salesman at the store was clearly not in a good mood. We ordered online to pick up in store for the 10% discount, got an email saying it was ready and when we arrived he said it wasnt and went in the back to get it huffing about being busy and not having paperwork. When he came back out he tested the batteries without speaking another word to us then headed to our vehicle to load them. I finally got to look at the batteries as he was rolling away I asked if it was the correct one and he said yes without slowing down and went back in the store. Ive been to this location before and always had good service but this time we certainly did not.

Very disappointed with BP! I placed an online order for in store pickup this morning for a replacement Fios battery. Never got an email from the store for pickup. Left a message at the store 1 1/2 hours after placing order inquiring about it asking for a return call. 5 hours later still no return call or emails. I called the store (which is open until 8pm) to cancel the order and explain why I was cancelling and the gentleman hung up on me as I was trying to explain what had transpired or in this case had not. I will not do business with them ever. Ive order the battery through Amazon prime and it will be less expensive and a definite on time delivery!

The battery on my home alarm system died. I needed a speedy replacement. I called my local Batteries Plus Bulbs to see if they might have a replacement in stock. Not only did they have what I needed but the representative was quite helpful and suggested a way that I could save money on my purchase. I placed my order online and within a few minutes received an email confirmation that my order was ready for pick up. I then drove to the store and was in and out within 10 minutes. All in all a superlative experience!
