I spent the day shopping for new running shoes and kept getting snubbed by corporate places (Dicks, Foot Locker, etc). I walked in to VA runner and instantly had a personal sales associate within seconds. He walked me through the free running assessment and what they are looking for in my stride. After he was done he brought out three different shoe style and brands (and price ranges) for me to try. After I bought I was told that I have 2 weeks to "test drive" my new shoes and bring them back if I wanted. In the end, excellent place and I will be back.

Ive been coming here for years. However its only because they sell a particular brand of shoe that I like for a good price. If you are coming here expecting to be fitted with a shoe to match your individual needs, youre going to be disappointed. The employees knowledge of biomechanics is very basic and I highly recommend doing your own research and finding a shoe that fits you yourself, rather than rely on their advice. Every time Ive listened to them Ive been disappointed. Good shoes, bad advice.

After running various races (a couple of 5K and 10Ks), I ran my first 1/2 marathon....in the wrong type of shoes, trail runners opposed to road runners. I went to VA Runner for help and found it with my polite, patient and knowledgable sale person, Julia. She listened to my tails of woe, and got me into the right running shoes. She also explained the policy that allows me to test them out. Theyve definitely earned a customer for life. And Ill be back, as soon as I wear out my Sauconys. ;)

Walked into the store on July 6,2015 around 2:30pm 1 employee was busy assisting a customer. 5 employees were behind the counter not one offered to help. Didnt want to interrupt their social hour so I left. Figured if they didnt want my business I would take it elsewhere.
