Hit or miss overall. The babies r us selection is very small. The lines are unnecessarily slow unless you luck out and are the only one at the register. The slowest of all is the manager! I had an excellent experience with one person on the electronics side. Once. He went out of his way to call several other locations asking if my item was in stock since hed already determined it was unavailable online. Didnt seem bothered at all when I had semi-complicated transactions after that. Again, the lines are very slow, MUCH slower than they should be, which inflames the frustration. Seeing the manager modeling this inattentiveness sends me over the edge inside. Access to the front registers is always roped off for some reason so you have to walk in another unnecessary long loop after navigating the displays in the checkout area. When I went last week the cashier reprimanded a man buying a soda for taking the reasonable path (by opening the rope and closing it behind himself) instead of walking the long stupid path.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!!! COMPANY!!!! I SPENT $118.00 TO RECEIVED 15 DOLLARS WORTH OF GIFTCARD, SO THAT THEY WONT HONOR IT WHEN YOURE TRYING TO REDEEM. SINCE MY SON WAS BORN I SPENT OVER 5K FROM THIS STORE START WITH FORMULA TO DIAPERS, AND THEY WILL NOT HONOR MY 15 DOLLARS GIFT CARD WHICH I ERANED . SO, I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER PENNY ON ANY TOYS R US OR BABYS R US OR ANY OF THEIR AFFILIATE AGAIN. THIS IS BAD FOR THIS COMPANY BECAUSE MY ONLY SON IS ONLY TURNING THREE AND I COULD SPEND FEW MORE THOUSANDS IN THE NEXT COUPLE YEARS... THE HORRIBLE PART OF THIS EXPERIENCE, IS TOYS R US FROM FAIR LAKES , VIRGINIA TOLD ME T CALL THE NUMBER OF THE MEMBERSHIP SERVICES AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WILL GIVE ME CODE TO REACTIVATE THE GIFT CARD, AFTER ALMOST AN HOUR ON THE PHONE, THEY JUST TOLD ME, ITS TOO BAD THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME....SO AFTER SPENDING THOUSAND S AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY JUST TREAT YOU LIKE DIRT...

There are a lot of ToysRUS locations in Northern VA. This one is our favorite because they are really good about keeping things in stock and the employees dont give my wife and I a hard time when we ask to price match the toys we buy for our kids. They also have a lot more of the exclusives like Star Wars and Lego that our kids are into so we know we can go there and find them in stock. Im sick of driving around the county after getting out of work looking for the Star Wars whatever its called that my kid wants for his Birthday or Christmas. Now I dont even bother going to the Toysrus location near my office. I just drive straight to the Fair Lakes one and get the toy because I know its in stock there. Also, weve noticed the attitude of the employees seems to be a lot better, like more positive and friendly, here than at other locations. Just sayin.

We live in Manassas and my husband and I went online to find an item and Fair Lakes had it in stock. When we got to the store, their price was $70 higher than the internet price and they said they could not honor the web price. It was a complete waste of time. We immediately went online and paid for it and picked it up at ANOTHER location. We could have picked it up right there too but we surely didnt want to do business with them and they probably couldnt care either since they probably make nothing off of that type of sale. Really a dumb business plan, IMO, since I will never go into that store again and may look elsewhere for toys if this is how the company wants to do business and waste peoples time and money.

Best TRU location in NOVA! The management here are extra helpful. They take the time, whether they think theyre going to make the sale or not, to take customers around the store (almost like a tour!) and educate them. They even tell customers how to combine discounts and promotions to save money when they could just as easily let the customer walk out paying top dollar instead! This location is also EXTREMELY collector-friendly! They will help collectors find hard-to-get items and special-order things not found in-store. They seem a lot more knowledgeable about the collector subculture than other locations too. They know geek stuff! They dont -try- to get your money here. They try to get your repeat business!

Lots of damaged toys, and all prices exceed other Toys R Us stores within the region. I asked why I was not getting a price that was on the website (and not web specific) as well as the price at both the Manassas and Sterling store. I was told by a manager that the Fairfax area is of higher class and income than Sterling and Manassas so not only do I have to pay more, but if they changed the price to match the online/regular price I would not be able to use my Rewards certificates. Definitely a do not buy. I shall also be filing a corporate complaint, as there is no fine print on my rewards points that says I cant use them at specific stores. Vote with your wallet, and AVOID.

Bad customer service: Recently went here to buy some Christmas gifts. It was little crowded due to holiday season. When I was checking out at a counter, I asked the cashier (young, in his early 20s) to check and confirm prices on a couple of items before I buy them. The cashier suddenly started saying that he is grossed out because he had to clean somebodys throw up. He added that it was terrible to look at the puke. Really? Why would he need to tell anything like this to a customer? I dont think what he told was true. So it was very derogatory. I wanted to talk to his manager but I was in rush. Never going back to this location again.

Had the worst customer service experience Ive ever had in a Toys R Us store at this location today. I presented a promotion from their neighboring Target for price match and the cashier and the supervisor(African African male), did everything in their power to insult my intelligence to try and not take a whopping $8 off an item. From now on, unless I buy it online for pickup, Im never stepping foot in this store again.

Fantastic service! Sales staff spent some 15 minutes searching for a discounted toy for my grandaughter. We were about to give up, but he diligently continued. Prompt checkout experience too. What could have been very disappointing became a positive shopping experience.

Great place to buy toys for you children. They have toys for toddlers to tweenagers. Wide variety of toy selection, and great service that helps you with anything you need.

They closed early. I just wanted to run in to see if they had baby video monitors since target didnt have it. I was there at 8:55pm and the doors were locked.
