When me and my husband arrived at Marlowe Ink everyone treated us great. I brought a picture in and Danny was going to tattoo it on me. We were in the waiting room patiently waiting to get the sketch done, admiring some of the work on the walls. There were photos everywhere so my husband stepped into the hall and immediately got chewed out. You are not to leave the waiting room to see any of the pictures in the hall or anywhere else. Okay, that was fine.--But the lady at the desk could have been much nicer about it. Then Danny was done and we were going to the back room to get tattooed! All of a sudden they yell at my husband because the only people allowed to be in the room is the artist and the person getting the tattoo. I did not want to get this done alone. It was my birthday and my husband is getting deployed to Afghanistan in a couple weeks so I wanted to spend the experience with him. They didnt care about any of that. They said someone at one time stole some tattoo equipment so now no one can have company back there. So I told Danny I guess I will go somewhere else to get it done. Im not going to get it done alone. I politely asked for my drawing back and he said absolutely not! and crumpled it up and threw it in the trash. I couldnt be more disgusted with this place. We ended up going to Patriots and couldnt have been happier with their service or quality of tattoo! My husband actually ended up getting one too that night! Highly recommend Logan and Kat from Patriots!

Jen is a fantastic artist that takes incredible pride in her work. I’ve been seeing Jen for my tattoo needs for more than five years. There are multiple reasons I keep coming back, some of the reasons include: 1. Extremely easy to work with-such as presenting an idea and getting your tattoo idea started. 2. Talented-I know from working with other artists, before Jen of course, that other artists can be very “narrow” in what they can do. Jen has a very broad ability to tattoo across multiple areas of styles she can work with. Examples include, but not limited to, traditional, realism, neo traditional and blackwork. 3. Quality-You will get an extremely fantastic quality tattoo with the best quality ink. If you’re reading reviews of artists then you’re probably looking for an artist to work with. This is one of the best and you can’t go wrong!

I went to Marlowe Ink to get my 2nd tattoo. It had been 14 years since my first and I was a little unsure. I researched and found Marlowe Ink and one of the resident artists Anya. She was great. We met for a consultation went what I was looking for and I booked my appointment. When I showed up the day of I Anya had 3 different sizes to choose from. We talked about which one would work best and then we got started. I loved the results! Anya did a great job and my wife and I are talking about going there for some more work. Also, the shop was incredible clean and the staff was great. Prices are reasonable from what Ive seen around the DMV area. Maybe a littler higher than other shops but you are paying for quality artists who take time to talk to their clients so the results are perfect.

Dont be fooled by the building, its a little old looking on the outside but trust me, the facility is very nice and very clean on the inside. Ignore the negative reviews. Having skimmed through some of them, these are clearly some very picky people who have never been to a professional tattoo parlor before. Marlowe Ink upholds the integrity of their artists. I worked with Hayden for my arm piece and she was awesome. Shes also a professional conversationalist and I think that helps when the person working on your tattoo likes to talk because it takes attention away from the discomfort of the process. I would absolutely recommend this place and even her as your tattoo artist.

Had a bit of a wait, but thats a good sign, as it means the shop is reputable enough to draw that much business. Im always hearing good things about Marlowe Ink and while I didnt have any ideas (or money) for a tattoo, I went in to get my eyebrow re-pierced. Never caught the name of the guy who did it but the shop was fun yet professional, and while the first time I had it pierced it got put in all crazy, the guy at Marlowe did it very well and Im extremely happy with the result. Would definitely think of M.I. first if deciding to get another tattoo or piercing.

I got a tattoo of a shark done by Misty a couple days ago, and Im very happy with how it turned out. Ive already gotten a ton of compliments on it. It hurt like hell but the end result was definitely worth it. Misty didnt talk to me at all for the 2 hours it took to tattoo, but I was completely okay with that because Im not much of a talker and dont like small talk. I would for sure recommend her as long as youre fine with not getting babied through the experience. Ill probably come to her again when Im ready for my next tattoo!

Very happy with the work I had done by Misty. Cant speak for her more detailed work since the piece she did for me wasnt particularly complicated, but it came out great and Ill be back for more. If youre stupid, theyll make fun of you after you leave. Cant say I was offended, given that I very much agreed. Theyre pros, and odds are you arent. Trust them.

These guys are absolutely excellent! I was in DC on business and noticed that I had lost my jewelry somewhere along my running route. I called around to see if I could find a replacement anywhere, and even though they were officially closed, one of the guys was nice enough to stick around and sell me a barbell. You cant teach class like that.

Jen is the most amazing talented creative tattoo artists I have ever met! She has done 3 of my master peices and my last peice was a half sleeve! I get soooooo many compliments on my tats and I trust her. Cant wait to get another half sleeve done by Jen. If you are looking for a artist that takes pride in her work look no further than Jen.

I have got two tattoos from Link at Marlowe Ink. Both tattos had serious meaning and he delivered beyond what I expected. One was a portrait of my dog and it turned out perfect. Link is amazing and I would recommend him anytime. Only problem is now that I found an artist I trust, I need money for all the new tattoos I want!

I found Jen through instagram. Within a few minutes of meeting her and talking my idea over I knew she would tattoo me right. I loved her work so much I went back to her two more times for more. I sadly live out of state but I will for sure drop in when I am back in town. All around great artist and person!

I got my nipples pierced by Phil Gamble and he was awesome. He made my experience very comfortable and laid back. He was very clean and explained every detail. He made sure all my questions were answered and I will definitely go back to him in the future.
