My husband and I were married on July 25, 2015 and used Burke Florist for all of our floral arrangements. Compared to other vendors in the DC area, they were by far the best value. Denise was an absolute pleasure to work with - very down to earth, attentive, and knowledgeable about what arrangements would work best for your taste and budget. The bridesmaids bouquets were beautiful - simple yet elegant, and mine was able to include all of the types of flowers I wanted without looking mismatched or overstated. The centerpieces at our reception were all beautiful as well; just what we wanted! Lastly, the service was excellent. We had our ceremony and reception at different places(the ceremony was at a church nestled in the middle of a college campus while the reception was held at a busy downtown venue) - and each had conflicting timetables for delivery on the day of. This made me a little nervous because I would not be at either place to receive the flowers if there were a problem. No matter! Denise was able to accommodate both without reservation. All arrangements were delivered to the church and reception on time without issue. One thing I would say is that they are slightly difficult to find, being located near the back of the Burke shopping center near George Mason (so get there early if you are scheduling an appointment). Other than that, I have no negative feedback or constructive criticism to report about Burke Florist and am SO thankful we chose to work with them! Will definitely use them again for future floral needs.

I stumbled across this florist by searching for local shops in Burke, VA. Ultimately I was looking for another shop Ive used in the past and had no luck finding them. Let me tell you, I couldnt be happier. Denise, at Burke Florist, has FAR exceeded my expectations. I long ago chose to start using local florists because of a bad experience with the 1800 flowers type of company. This shop only solidifies my decision. As I type Im trying to make up reasons why I need to order more flowers! For my 10yr anniversary I went with 10 red roses and 4 white roses (to represent our 4 children). While I wanted it to be special, Denise is the one that suggested the 4 white roses. Awesome idea, right? I then decided I wanted to send a stuffed animal along w/ the arrangement. I had ordered one and Denise was happy to deliver that for me along w/ the flowers. So already, awesome service. Two days before delivery Denise e-mails to let me know they just received the most beautiful large white calla lilies from their local farmer and asked if Id like to substitute them for the white roses. I quickly googled red roses and white calla lilies. She was right, absolutely beautiful. From the personal touches, quick communication, using local farmers and being a small family owned business. Why wouldnt you give them a shot? Just wouldnt make sense to not give them at least one chance to earn your business. Thanks again Denise! -Scott

Burke Florist has local flowers when possible. My consultation went well; the representative was attentive, responsive, and got my vision for the wedding. I got a proposal quickly and the price was right. The flowers were delivered on time and my large bouquet and my bridesmaids flower crowns got many compliments. The only reason I cant give five stars was the form inside my bouquet broke and flowers were coming out of it starting with photos. A friend was able to tie it up so it made it through the ceremony. My DOC called the florist for help/advice but it was Saturday and he did not get a call back until Sunday. The florist was distraught about it. Over email later she told me such a thing had only happened once years before with a funeral arrangement. I asked for credit and she offered what I thought was a fair amount. These things happen and she did what she could to make good. I was satisfied and would give them another chance in the future. The bouquet was stunning and we were able to keep it together.

When I ordered my flowers, I was very specific about wanting my wife to say "WOW" when she answered the door. Burke was able to accomplish that. Thank you. My INITIAL rating was low since I also requested a very colorful arrangement (and, I was willing to pay for it $100+) and yet, the biggest flowers are white ones. Its the first thing I see when looking at the arrangement. I contacted the florist and she told me that she wanted the colors to stand out as contrasted with the white; I understand that. But, it is not at all what I asked for. A simple phone call could have clarified everything. I just had a conversation with Denise the owner. Her follow-up to my dissatisfaction was prompt and professional. She made me an offer that I could not refuse. Who could ask for more than that? I will definitely be back to purchase arrangements from Burke Florist. Thank you Denise!

Burke Florist provided bouquets (bride and bridesmaid), floral "spritz" for my hair, and boutenierres for our wedding on November 13th 2015 and everything was astoundingly beautiful! The entire process from the beginning was effortless. I walked in not knowing quite how to describe what I wanted, and Denise quickly identified multiple flowers and greenery from photos I had shown, deftly assembling a unified and striking arrangement concept. The delivery service was also amazing; I needed the flowers for my hair at the hotel, and the rest of the bouquets at the venue down the street, and they accommodated this without question. The bouquets fit the scene and the mood perfectly. They were the most wonderful mix of something a little unique, a little natural/woodsy, and still completely classy. I highly recommend Burke Florist!!

Excellent service!! I have to admit, I have struggled finding a decent florists in the DC area. Dealing from overseas, I felt some have taken advantage of this and I have been left bitterly disappointed with the service. With one florist and their "recipe" I felt completely ripped off and disgusted at their behaviour. My brother came to my rescue and recommended Burke Florist, a brilliant recommendation! Prompt, professional and friendly. Dealing with Denise was fantastic and she was ever so helpful. Would highly recommend and they will have my business going forward.

I have to say that I bought a dozen long stem roses last year (2014) for Valentines day. They looked great and I paid a large amount for them(if I recall around $86). Got them home and the next day we had gnats all over the house. I guess that price was for the gnats. But the reason for the higher rating is that Denise corrected the problem and was very nice about it. If any business corrects a problem, that means that the business is going all out to satisfy a customers. Fairfax needs more businesses like Burke Florist and I will be a returning customer.

Burke Florist was recommended to me by and friend - and I was not disappointed! Denise was wonderful to work with for our wedding flowers. We were on a tight budget and she was totally willing and flexible to work with us on this. More importantly, the flowers (bouquet, boutonnieres, corsages, table and cake flowers) were all exquisite. We got married on a Sunday (when the store was closed) so I picked up on Saturday and everything was perfect. I will not hesitate to recommend Burke Florist to anyone I talk to who is in need of flowers!
