This review is for this Petcos adoption process and specifically Tiffini. We stopped by Petco just before close on Monday to check out the hermit crabs (yeah - I know, who in their right mind just checks out hermit crabs?) - but seriously, Ive gotten 3 of my 4 herms from here and theyre by far the best kept store-bought herms in Woodbridge. ANYWAYS - we walk in and are greeted by a giant snake. An adorable chick with short, colorful hair walks up and asks if we want to pet her - mentioned shes been given up by her owner and is looking for a forever home. Who woulda guessed Petco gets tons of reptile surrenders!? Petco is literally locking the doors and turning off the lights because its after close, but they arent rushing us at all - answering all our questions, explaining details about the breed. She says we can put a 24 hold to sleep on it - snake care is long term, these guys can live 30 years if kept right. We show up the next morning to see Tiffini feeding mice and a smile wipes across her face when she realized were takin the ol girl home. And man are these people almost as nice as this snake! Tiffini is teaching us how to hold her, how to bathe her, how to feed her - hell, they both even pose for pictures (its quite a spectacle to see a 6 foot snake wrapped around a 5 foot woman). Thanks so much to Petco for being so awesome. I look forward to buying snake and hermit SUPPLIES (no more pets for me!) from here!

Customer service in the Grooming department is nonexistent. I walked in for my appointment with my large breed puppy and inquired about the "Puppy Services" on their website. Two women who worked there snapped at me saying they were absolutely not going to give me that price of $15 because of the breed. They rudely said that it is going to be $30 and that I should be greatful bc thats already giving me a discount for being new but that if I didnt like it they would charge me $45. #1) It was just a question. #2) I was not speaking to EITHER of them! #3) The websites only requirements were to be under 6 months of age and under 40lbs (which my pup totally qualifies). The guy who was attending me did not really know what to do, and the two women were telling him loudly and with an attitude to NOT give me that discounted price. I walked out and called the manassas location to verify and they happily and nicely said the charge is $15. I walked right back in and found the manager and he took care of me. But this was the worst experience ever. The lack of professionalism was unbelievable. Never again am I taking my dog to this groomer.

So I took my Yorkie Poo here for a full-service groom. I dropped her off at 1:30 I was told it would take 3 hours. I then come back around 4:30 after receiving no call. I get there they tell me its going to be another hour and a half. So as my dog is finishing up the manager Cookie checks me out. Let me be clear that as a manager her professionalism was clearly lacking. She became very argumentative with me when I expressed that its been way too long for a groom when I booked this appoint 2 weeks in advance. Her excuse was they were backed up when I got there and there were three dogs ahead of me so that pushed her time back. I said one why was I not notified that the time was pushed back when I arrived and two an appointment is an appointment. If I book at 1:30, then she needs to be serviced at 1:30. She was completely rude and not sympathetic at all that a customer is upset with a service they are paying $50+ for. What is wrong with you people? Im just going to take me and the hundreds of dollars I spend constantly to PetSmart. Hopefully theyll appreciate me more.

What great customer service. My sister brought me here because she found a snake she wanted to adopt. The staff at this Petco went above and beyond. Back story: Someone dropped to snake off at this Petco because they couldnt care for it any longer as they were leaving the country. The Petco took the snake in no questions asked and was going to arrange to get it adopted. My sister came in to the store and saw what was going on and said she wanted to adopt the snake the next day if it was still there. Well, the snake was there and the staff made the whole process so easy. They explained everything they knew about the snake and its past and really made us feel calm about the whole process. They even offered to call as a follow up once they got additional info! I highly recommend this Petco just because of the staff. Here is a picture of Tiffini holding the Red Tailed Boa. She was such a rock star the entire time. If you have any questions whatsoever- go to her. She is a pro!

I just found out that there have been others being returned with the same illness. Wet-Tail. They have more in there right now that have been returned. So apparently, this Petco knows they have infected hamsters and are still selling them. And not telling their customers of the dangers. These poor kids who go in there all happy getting a pet, end up having to watch it die a few days later. This needs to be stopped. Please dont buy animals from this store! The manager assured me he would call me and let me know how our little hamster was doing in 2 days or call if she passed. He did not. I had to call and then was told she died the day before. I wonder know if she was ever treated. Sick! Animals are not disposable!!!

I went there to get my dogs nails clipped and dremmeled. I paid for the nail cuts, and continued to walk around, getting ready to spend over 100 bucks in their store. I was approached by a dog trainer who worked there with a duplicate receipt saying I did not pay for the services my dog received, and if I didnt pay, I would no longer be allowed to shop there. Needless to say I dropped my all my items on the floor, at the trainers feet, grabbed the receipt, paid again then left for good to never return. I called corporate and I got a refund, and a bunch of coupons to spend at the Manassas petco, because the people at the Woodbridge petco are a basket full of deplorables.......

On 05/21/2010 We took our pure breed cocker spaniel for her regular grooming service. My husband signed off a waiver which is part of their regular rutine which states if the hair is matted, it must/will be shaved. I completely understand this...what i dont understand is why her well kept skirt was chopped off entirely. I am extremely upset and all i got from the store MANAGER is " oh maam your husband signed the waiver" . Cetain cuts apply to certain breeds and believe me, this was not a cocker spaniel hair cut. Please do not take your dogs who require certain/special haircuts.. My dog looks horrible.

Every single time I get a fish from here, they die. Anywhere else, they're fine. The many times I've been there the fish were clearly sick (ick, dropsy, etc) and many dead fish were floating around the tanks. I understand that some fish may die for whatever reason, but over 10 fish stuck to the filter or just laying on the gravel is just not excuseable. The other areas seem to be fine, but for buying fish, not so much.
