Lovely yarn, shop is set up well physically, but the customer service couldnt be worse. I have been in multiple times and finally have given up. Once I went in on crutches with a sprained ankle and the owner was working. She seemed VERY irritated that I was having a hard time getting around and wouldnt help me to bring my purchases up to the counter. She literally ran to the back of the store to show me what I was looking for and when I get there, she had her arms crossed and was tapping her foot and rolling her eyes at me. I literally had to tuck my yarn under my chin and hobble up to the counter where she was again tapping away and sighing LOUDLY as she waited for me to get there with my purchase. So, so, so unprofessional. I have no idea how she stays in business.

I think the only way Jennifer stays in business here is because of her selection. She stocks wool that is produced locally, which is very important; she stocks spinning and dyeing supplies, and no one else does that. But, I have never in all my years as a knitter and spinner met another knitter who actually enjoyed the service, I am not exaggerating, all the other reviewers were not exaggerating. Dont expect to be treated with a modicum of respect or kindness at this shop! If you want a nice selection of yarn with great service, go up to St. Albans at What A Yarn; Katy is wonderfully supportive of all knitters, and will help you get whatever you need!

I have been in here probably two or three times . . . not a welcoming environment at all. Wasnt greeted by the person at the door, tried to ask a question or two and it seemed as though I was being a bother, you get the idea. I have only gone back to see if they carried something that I couldnt find elsewhere. Kaliedoscope in Essex has a much better selection, store layout, and the staff is FRIENDLY!!! I am proud to spend a little extra to buy locally, but I wont be doing it here. Why should I? Their attitude is one of indifference. Maybe they just cater to the "professional" or "accomplished" knitters?

Given that theres no other place around for fiber, I suck it up and patronize this shop. The selection is great, the product is great, the big dog is great, but the women who work here have serious attitude problems. I always feel sneered at. Theres no idle chit chat at checkout, and theyre not interested at all in your current projects. Other knitters Ive talked to have had the same experience. I dont understand why anyone would be snooty and crabby to customers, especially in a shop like this. I really wish the staff was friendlier. It would be a perfect experience if they could just be nice.

I had an extremely positive experience at this shop just a few weeks ago. Im a total novice hobbyist with more questions than experience, and Im trying to figure out a project from scratch. The lady minding the place (I didnt get her name.) walked me around the store describing different materials and how they might effect what Im trying to do. This, combined with great products steeped in the local economy, gets a solid five stars.

This is a marvelous store with an enormous variety of yarns, felting supplies, spinning supplies, etc. If you need it, its here. Jennifer and staff are very helpful and friendly. I dont understand the negative reviews at all as I have shopped here for over 10 years. Jennifer especially is wonderful at helping you choose colors and such. Love this store, much better than others in Vermont.

This shop has beautiful yarn. I have always been treated well in here and they have been very helpful. I am not the best knitter and they have helped me with my mistakes and been extremely patient in teaching me and showing me how to fix problems that arise and read patterns. I am so happy to have this resource so close!

I dont go in there - as a new knitter, I was naive enough to think that they would like to answer a question - but was rudely told "to use a little common sense". Why go back - I can go to "Knits and Bolts" in New Haven or "Kaliedoscope" in Essex Junction.

I have always been impressed with the depth of the stock in this store, especially for us felters. And Im inspired by the artistry that pours out of Jennifer and her family. I like going there probably more than anything to get inspired.

Huge selection of yarns and fibers. Kits, books, supplies galore. Very friendly and helpful staff. If they dont have what you want and they have the ability to order it theyll get it for you with a smile.

Drive up from Boston twice each year because she stocks yarns and fibers I cannot find elsewhere. Always very helpful and courteous.
