8/28/12, I had won another gift card to the Tulip Tree, I decided to give them another try. I was pleasantly greeted on the phone by Fran, I explained I was limited on time and was not able to get to the store to use my gift card, but I nned the flower arrangement ASAP, (due to my employer is not in the office often), but today shes here, Fran made special arrangements for me, took my order, and it will be delivered shortly. I cant wait to see the arrangement. Im totally in awe at the difference between my two visits, I have to say this is by far a wonderful experience. My last visit must have been a fluke. I will honestly say I would use Tulip Tree Floral for my floral needs. Fran was Awesome. Monday, 10/17/11, I walked into Tulip Tree Floral and placed and order/delivery for Thursday, 10/20/11, prepaid for the order, requested morining delivery. I ordered a "Telafloral" Isle of White, the price was $42.95 online where I browsed and chose the Isle of White, a beautiful square vase with all white flowers, Lillies, roses, etc, the picture was beautiful. When I ordered the Isle of White, first they tried to charge me more than what their on line price stated. I told them the on line price, we agreed on price, I paid. Well Thursday (around 3:30pm) I called to verify delivery, they couldnt find my order, so no delivery at this point. The women who answered the phone knew nothing and had to keep asking someone in the back ground - questions in order to answer me, after about repeating my self 10 times, I asked to speak with the person in the background. A younger lady came on the line, said they couldnt find my order. After shuffling papers around on their counter, she found the order, she asked me if the person intended for delivery was still at work, (this was approx 3:45pm) I informed her that this person left around 4:30pm, she said they would run it over right away. They did get it delivered very quickly, but it was not what I ordered or paid for. What they delivered was just the cheap basic short round vase, and approx 3 lillies, white carnations, I didnt see any white roses. The arrangement looked sparse and thrown together. I was very disappointed in the arrangement and their lack of service.

I ordered $50 flowers from Tulip Tree the Wednesday before Mothers Day and requested them to be delivered on the Friday before Mothers Day. Friday came and went, and my mother said nothing. Saturday came and went, and again my mother said nothing. So around seven oclock, I called her and asked her if she got anything delivered. She said, No. So I called the Tulip Tree around 7:30 pm on Saturday night after checking to see that my credit card had indeed been charged the $50. They had no record of it immediately, and put me on hold for close to 10 minutes. Upon finally returning to the phone call, the woman told me that the order had been set aside and they had a hard time finding it. She then asked what it was and told me that they were sorry and that they would make it and deliver it right away. She then told me that they think what happened was that it was made and stolen off of their counter, so they thought it had been delivered. I told her that was a lame excuse and that I wanted my money back. This was my second negative incident with Tulip Tree. A couple of years ago, I paid for a basket of flowers and plants to be delivered. That time they sent a small azalea...certainly not worth $50. Upon complaining then, they did remake the flowers and deliver. This time, I did give them a second chance, and they blew it again. What kind of florist takes your money, and doesnt keep track of your order. Now my mother will be getting nothing for mothers day. What they shouldve done was return my $50, and deliver my mother flowers anyway for their mistake. Do not use Tulip Tree, unless you want to be disappointed.

I really try not to slam small businesses. The struggle is real and I just want them to succeed. But after three strikes I feel like I need to warn people. 1) The delivery guy delivered the flowers to my neighbor--on purpose. There was no trying again the next day. There was no "you can pick them up between 9-5 at this address." Instead they left them with someone who works long hours who lives in the building next-door to mine. So I didnt even see the flowers until four days later, by which time most of them were already dying. (Btw, I work from home, so I was there all day. The flowers didnt show up until 7pm Valentines night, by which time I was obviously out with my boyfriend.) 2) The bouquet was quite different from what my boyfriend ordered. I get that they can make substitutions, but both in quantity and quality these are off. The picture was mostly orange with pops of yellow and some fuchsia roses and other purple flowers. But these are mostly pink with some burgundy. And they are so much smaller than the "large" size that he ordered online. 3) When I called to complain the person I spoke with was defensive and not even a little bit apologetic. He blamed 1800 flowers for not paying them enough (then dont work with 1800 Flowers!) And he said it is "standard practice" to leave the flowers wherever they can (never had that happen before!) And the flowers my boyfriend ordered are not available because of floods in California (so why are they on the website then?) But no apology. I am sure they are good, hard-working people. This was just a terrible experience from beginning to end.

My fiancé ordered a bouquet of flowers for me online, he put special instructions that if I was not home when they were delivered that they were to be left by the front door. Periodically I would check in to see if they had been delivered but didnt ever see anything. He called the shop three times and each time the girl on the phone changed her story, twice she said, "the flowers have been delivered." then the last time he called she said, "oh, we havent made them up yet but we will really quick and get them on the last truck." So before I went to work at 4 I came home one last time to see if they had been delivered. Still there was no package on the doorstep. I woke up this morning and my grandma comes up to me and says that there was a note from the tulip tree left on the doorknob saying that there were some flowers at the neighbors house for me. She went over and got them and sure enough, they were the flowers that were supposed to have been delivered to my house. my fiancé and I reviewed his order to see if maybe my address had been put in wrong but everything on there was correct. For some reason the Tulip Tree decided to disregard my fiancés special instructions and left the flowers with someone else. It was a very stressful situation and honestly, once I finally got the flowers there just wasnt anything special about them anymore. if I could I would go get our money back. I was very disappointed and displeased with the service.
