I bought a pair of shoes (Saucony running shoes) at Big 5 a little over 2 months ago. Recently, I noticed that a piece of the sole was coming loose. Even though I didnt have the receipt, they looked up my debit card transaction while another representative helped me try on a replacement pair. The shoes I got were a little less expensive in the first place and about $30 off, so most of the original purchase was refunded--after two months of use! The shoes I was replacing were excellent except for the loose piece (certainly possible I accidentally damaged them), and Im quite satisfied with the new ones as well. They add to years worth of good experiences with Big 5 Sugarhouse, including one of my most prized possessions--the now 4.5 year-old Camelbak backpack I take everywhere, a habit I picked up when I was walking or riding my bike everywhere. It was $20 with a Camelbak water bottle that was the best water bottle Id ever had and also lasted me years. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Prices for some items can be a little on the high side when theres no sale, but youre paying for quality merchandise and a quality shopping experience. My one disappointment is that when I looked for hiking shoes, I couldnt find any that were non-leather, but thats admittedly a specialty item. (While looking for running shoes I did notice that they carry Asics, which wouldve helped a fellow Sugarhouse-resident friend of mine when he couldnt find that brand at the mall during Christmas season.)

I just have to say that the Big 5 Sporting Goods in Sugar house is a really good place to shop at I went in there and bought a nice pair of optics that were on sale and I was looking at a different pair that were not on sale and they offered to give them to me at the price that they were last on sale for and not only that the optics that I bought happened to be defected and broke the first week I that I bought them and they switched them for me with almost no hassle the only reason they dont get 5 stars is the price of there merchandise is a little bit too high in comparison to all the other sporting goods places but the staff there is really good and its a nice friendly place to shop so the Big 5 Sporting Goods in Sugar house gets 4 out of 5 stars.

The people there are really friendly and extremely helpful. I could found the stuff in time with good price, even with two young kids. Im pretty happy about the this purchase experience. Update: I took the good review back. I shopped with kids again couple days ago (they out grew their shoes fast), but worked with different staff. This time I dont have that luck: Kids were not allowed to use the restroom and I needed to find the right size shoes by myself. Good news it that price is still good. Next time Ill try other stores with comparable price.

Not the best place to find what youre looking for, there is very limited product , but for buying PE equipment its pretty good. The staff is moderately an experienced with where products are located or what is an inventory, but there as friendly as they need to be.

The staff is friendly and willing to help. There is a wide range of outdoor products. They seem to lack major brands in a lot of areas but they do still have some. The less heard of brands are cheap and serve the same purpose in most occasions.

Friendly staff that helped me find the best deals. They also opened 5 minutes early so I could buy a basketball before taking my son to his first basketball practice. Good selection of all the basic sports equipment you need.
