In October 2015, I was in the market for 2 new tires. I did some research on Google to see who has good reviews. I decided to try these guys even though I have to go out of my way to them, purely because of the positive reviews. I called to check on the tires I want, the guy on the phone was very very helpful and friendly. I brought my car in, the staff was, again, friendly. They rotated my tires, drove the car up after, and they even opened the door for me. Everything went great, or so I thought. After I returned to work, I saw that a big chunk of the chrome on one of the rims were chipped off, showing the base layer (white molded plastic of some sort). I called back right the way, an employee answered and told me to bring it back for them to look at it. I decided to go back right after work around 5:30 even though I had another appointment. The staff took some pictures and said he will show the managers the next day (all managers already left for the day). That employee also said they will check if they have the same rim in stock for a possible replacement. He was friendly, and I was happy with the way he handled the situation. In the next 3 days, I called back 3 more times, but I couldnt get a hold of a manager until the 3rd call, and not until after some complaining. They got me to the manager who is in charge of this case. The manager defended their work and said the design of the rims (2012 Chevy Malibu 2LT) has flaws and NO ONE out there could have changed the tires without chipping the chrome off (which is bull, considering the previous owner had new tires put on before selling the car to me. The rims were flawless when I bought the car). He then tried to persuade me to go back to the store and talk to him. It sounded to me that he was not going to fix the problem, so I called him out that it would be a waste of my time to go in and not get the problem resolved. Then he went back to insisting it was not their fault and there was nothing they can do for me. Here are my problems with this whole experience: (1) You should have told me right the way that there was an issue with the rim. Were you so naive hoping I wont find out? (2) You should have taken the initiative and responded quicker, instead of having me call and call and call. (3) You should not have told me to come back, sugarcoating the problem when you did not intend to fix the rim. Believe it or not, I have other stuff to do. I have been to Discount Tire in Michigan, South Carolina, and now in Utah. I have always had great experience with them until visiting this store. So I will likely still be a discount tire customer, but no way will I come back to this particular one.

DO NOT USE THE DISCOUNT TIRE ON 4500 SOUTH & STATE! I LEARNED THE HARD WAY. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE! I recently purchased a vehicle, but it needed a new set of tires to pass inspection. So after doing some price checking, I dropped it off at the Discount Tires near my work. When I went to pick it up, I was informed that one of my rims had split slightly while they were tightening the lug nut, and more were on the way. I was told that "It is an old vehicle and they are just worn out." As the truck is an 87, I was willing to concede that this might be the case but was upset because they had not called me during the 4 hours I had left my truck there. Instead they had just put the now broken rims back on the vehicle. Discounts reasoning behind this was because they did not have any rims in stock that would fit my truck and would have to order them in. After assuring me that while it still wouldnt pass inspection it was ok to drive for a time, I ordered in new rims. The manager even "cut me a deal" setting it up so that I would be able to get my rims at a time when there was a mail in rebate going on and he would not charge me for labor as it would have been included when I got the tires had they had them in stock. Thinking that I had things taken care of, I went on my merry way and returned to get the new rims 2 weeks later. I dropped off my car and came back a few hours later to find only 3 of the 4 new rims actually mounted on the vehicle. My 4th new rim was sitting in a plastic bag in the cab of the truck. When I asked what had happened they calmly explained to me that my "truck is so old that the lug stud broke and will only spin in the wheel." They then "gave me" a new tire on the new rim, but I was going to have to take it into a shop to have them cut off my old rim and put a set of new lug studs on my truck. I was furious! But nothing I said was getting through to them. I left the building. On further inspection, I have found that not only did they completely destroy one of my lug bolts, they also seized another one as well and made it so that they 3 remaining lug nuts do not even hold the tire in place like it should be. It is completely unsafe to drive, and is going to cost me a lot more then the $40 tire (yes, they gave me the cheap one) they gave me to shut me up. I spent well over $700 at the shop and they have screwed me over. I will never take another car there again!

Be warned. All they want to do is sell you new tires- whether you need them or not! I bought my tires from the Draper Discount Tire. Stopped in to this location since I had a low back tire. I needed a rotation and also was thinking I was out of alignment. I told this to the man and he went out to take a look and do a "safety check". When he came back in he told me my tires were worn out, and that it is not worth the time to rotate them or align them. he told me to just drive them until they are completely worn out. He said he would see if the back tire could be fixed at least and go from there. The Point is- my tires are NOT worn out, they are BF Goodrich All Terrain and have low miles on them and much more than 3/4 life on them. If I chose to continue to drive them on a misaligned truck- of course they will wear out quickly and unevenly. This is why I need them aligned and rotated! This shop is only about sell, sell, sell! Not about helping you are doing what is right. As I waited for my flat repair-I noticed this happen to another woman also. She came in for a low tire on her new car and the guy instantly told her her that she should think about new tires for safety. She looked baffled and said "ok, my tires are barely used, so can you just fix the low tire or what?" Be warned.
