Just for the record, I frequently see complaints about Adderall in various strengths being out of stock. Please understand this is NOT an issue with any individual pharmacy, but rather a nationwide epidemic (Ive lived in Detroit, Chicago and not Utah with the same problem). The issue is with the drugmakers; theyre allotted a certain amount of the active ingredient every year as it is a tightly controlled substance. What they do with that allotment is their choice; the current issue is simply one where the drugmakers are choosing to allot too much active ingredient to their name brand version of the drug, while allotting far too little to the generic version. Because the active ingredient is so tightly controlled, its not a simple "order more and fix it" solution. The drugmakers are greedy - anyone who pays $50-$100 for an inhaler you can get anywhere else for a nickel, up to $10. Far lower - and while Im not a socialist by any means, this current issue gives capitalism a very bad name. We should have the right to capitalize as much as the situation deems appropriate. This is greed pure and simple, as the drugmakers know how few people can afford the $300-500 the name brand medication costs. By keeping supply of generics low, they still earn over $100 per monthly prescription thats filled, and its paid by those who can least afford it. Maybe the oversupply of brand-name should force prices down? And because they are still using all of their allotment of the mixed amphetamine salts that go into Adderal, they break no rules. Meanwhile those of us who need the medication have a hard enough time focusing on one thing at a time. When every pharmacy is out of stock and im out of medication driving around the state to find it, missing work and knowing i have no choice (Ive failed enough because of my ADHD to know how important it is to fill) its a burden that no one should endure. First do no harm? Just rob us, please.

Ive been using this pharmacy for almost 2 years now after my insurance had changed and had gotten on insurance that was accepted by Walgreens. This Walgreens has to be by far the worst pharmacy I have ever used. They continually tell me that they are either out or low on stock of my meds every month when I go to refill them which is unacceptable as I have been a constant customer there for almost 2 years. They are horrible about sending reminders when your prescriptions are ready and the wait times are ridiculous. Just this week, they had to send in a prescription request to have my prescription refilled as I was out of refills. They had sent the request on Saturday 05/30/15 and I had gotten a call later that day saying that my prescription wouldnt be ready on time which is understandable seeing as how it was a Saturday and my doctors office is closed. I hadnt received a call by Monday evening, so I went in the store to see if it was ready. I was told it wasnt ready so I asked when the last request they sent was. They said it was sent on Saturday and they were just waiting for the office to get back to them. This had made me mad considering that the medication is needed for me to function properly on a daily basis. I understand its both the fault of the pharmacy and the Dr.s office and this may sound self centered, but with a medication that is that important, they should have followed up on it during the day to make the request was being approved and sent back. The pharmacy staff either lacks the understanding of how big of an impact their actions have on peoples daily lives or they just flat out dont care. Needless to say, I will be using the pharmacy I had been previously using, even though its not as close, as I never had any sort of problems like this.

Worst experience ever. If I could give it no stars I would. I go in to get a prescription filled to be told it will be a 40 minute wait for one prescription. I wait 45 without getting my name called. Go up, only to be told by the pharmacy tech Elizabeth it will be another 20 minutes with a quick thank you on the end, to get me to sit down. No sorry. Nothing. I wait two more minutes and decide Im not willing to wait, ask for my prescription slip back. She says its being filled now. So I question her and say, "Oh not the 20 minutes?" She then proceeds to tell me that wasnt what she said. She brings up my prescription to then ask me "Do you want me to sell it to you?" I of course interpret that as snotty and rude.. When I say it was rude she then rolls her eyes and tells me I misinterpreted. Not sure how thats possible. I then ask for a manger, Elizabeth then throws her hands up and when the shift manager, Chelsea approaches, Elizabeth then proceeds to cry to (in what I assume is an attempt to probably not get written up again.) I tell her to walk away to deal with the manger who then doesnt apologize nor attempt to make to make the situation right. I will be calling the location manager in the morning. Never will I return to this Walgreens nor any other.

Getting really tired of this location. They take forever to actually alert you when your prescriptions are ready, and they leave you at the window for ages. They take forever to GIVE you your meds too. Any time I go to the drive-thru, even if its only me, I know it will be at least a 10 minute experience, even with express pay. I had a prescription that was delayed and I needed to take it immediately as I was way overdue for it, and asked that they tell me as soon as it was filled so I could pick it up (I was waiting in the parking lot for the notification.) They said it would be about 10 minutes. 40 minutes later I called and the response I got was "ohhh yeah sorry we were supposed to send a text... its been ready." Thanks a lot guys! I know youre busy, but get it together! Pretty sure Ill be using one closer to my work now, because when I just had an issue with a prescription that SAID it was ready, but was out of stock at this MIdvale location, these other guys answered their phones pretty quickly and got everything situated. I was on hold with the Midvale location for over 15 minutes and of course, due to my previous experience, I wasnt surprised. Try and find another location thats convenient for you and avoid this one if possible!

The pharmacy here gave us a hard time when we were sent here for emergency medication for a pet who experienced a pulmonary embolism. Specifically Sildenofil. After wasting almost half an hour of our time, they quoted us a ridiculous amount, then when we agreed to pay, they told us they couldnt accept the prescription. We went to Smiths instead, and we got the medication within minutes and at approximately 1/3 the price they quoted anyway. That pet unfortunately didnt make it. Now Ill be left to wonder if the half hour they wasted would have made a difference. We were told by several other people that this specific location has turned down emergency prescriptions for pets, especially sildenofil, because the pharmacist "doesnt believe its a real emergency." So take that as an indicator of character. This is a terrible place. They are slow, unfriendly, overpriced, and when it really counts, they will let you down. I recommend you never trust them with anything, let alone when there is a life on the line.
