A friend said she had some Yeti tumblers engraved there, so I brought one in that Id bought at Academy (shouldve bought it @ Magpies ~ better price). My friend used the wrong word. Magpies monograms them w/ vinyl lettering that comes in various fonts, styles, colors, etc. It cost a mere $10. When the VERY helpful sales lady rang me up, she included the Yeti. I explained that Ive been carrying it around for days & had bought it elsewhere. Some store employees would give you the stink eye. She believed me w/o me having to show the Academy receipt & took it off the invoice. Trust is a nice thing to see these days. Oh. Since Yetis are not supposed to go in the dishwasher (too much hair, I guess?) the lettering has a great reputation for staying in place. I was so lucky to have arrived when I did because by the time I left, the checkout line was out the door. There are oodles of lovely gifts & they clearly have a loyal customer base. I will definitely be back to browse, purchase, & get 2 more Yetis monogrammed.

The shop itself is very cute and well organized but I have to agree with Karen. My exact same experience when I walked in. Just a couple of rude women gossiping behind the counter about their personal lives. Not a hello, not a smile, not even acknowledgment that I was there. With me, customer service is everything. If women who own a ritzy little, low traffic boutique cant even take the time to greet their customers, then they obviously must not be hurting for business too much. Much of the items are way overpriced as well and are sold at many other fine boutiques in the sugar land area. There are other boutiques in sugar land which employ much more friendly staff and offer the same items as well. Tattles tales, just a few minutes away, is just one of these boutiques, and they could not be friendlier. Magpies on the other hand... I will not return. Very dissapointed.

After shopping there for many years, I am finally just tired of the ladies attitude problems that work there. If you dont want to wait on me maybe you shouldnt be in customer service. With the amount of money that I spend each time I am in there you would think that they wouldnt be so rude!! After the last visit I will NEVER return!! I refuse to give those women my business any longer, there are pleanty of places in Sugar Land that sell the same things and you are treated nicely! You really shouldnt be so snotty, you never know who you are waiting on!! Just plain RUDE ladies!!! I will say though, they arent as rude when their boss is around on the floor!! Sad!

I LOVE THIS STORE! The staff is so nice and very helpful! They have the best candles "Tyler" candles and lots of neat novelty gifts and home decor. I have and will continue to recommend this store to all my friends and family. Good Work Ladies!
