About a week back, my boyfriend and I went to this store to buy some house supplies. We proceeded to check out where we met a rude cashier, Julie. It started off fine, her computer malfunctioned leaving the screen black and us unable to see our total. She finishes bagging our items and turns to us expecting us to have her money ready. My boyfriend had his wallet out ready to pay but was unable to give her an amount because she failed to tell us our total. We were fine with that... until she turned to him and said "I told you the amount, sir." To which he replied, "oh I guess I didnt hear you then. Im sorry." We both knew she didnt tell us the total, but it wasnt going to go any further than car ride conversation. After the amount was finally conveyed, $16.66, my boyfriend gave her a $20, 3 $1s, and some loose change. He gave her that specific amount with a purpose, not to just be difficult. He wanted quarters back to do laundry and a $10 bill so he would carry a least amount of bills as possible. She proceeded to take the money, but left the $1s on the CONVEYER BELT. Not in his hand, not on the little platform where you pay. The conveyer belt in front of another customer. When she hands him his change, all ones for some odd reason, he looks at his hand then the conveyer belt and asks "whats that money there" she, again, rudely replied, "thats your change, sir." He said "oh I wanted a $10" she looks at him with utter disgust "well you didnt tell me and I made the transaction already." He replied "oh I thought I did. Im sorry, Ill wait for [the lady behind us] to pay." After she is done ringing up the next customer, she hands us what the lady paid with, 2 $5s. At this point were both getting fed up with her and he said, with a little bit of tone, "No, I wanted a $10." She, again, rudely replies "Well you didnt tell me that, and its the same thing. Just take it." He said "I want the $10 for a reason. And I KNOW I said it this last time." So she gives him the $10, but not without getting her last words in "No you didnt, sir" then she asks the customers behind us and in front of us! SHE BROUGHT THE CUSTOMERS INTO HER ARGUMENT! And of course theyre fed up with us for taking so long, then they start jumping onto us for taking so long. We immediately called the chains customer service, since the 99 cent store didnt answer their phone. Weve been meaning to go talk to the stores managers, but theyre only there in the mornings. We refuse to go back to that store.

I really would love to give this place no stars. I went to go get supplies for my little brother, paid for everything and left. But when I got home I noticed all the things I had purchased werent in the bag when I got all of his supplies out. I look at the recept and they charged me for all of the things that were yes, in my bag but also for the things that werent. I called to complain but they kept hanging up or not answering. Dont bother coming here. Its a waste of time and money due to the fact that I didnt even receive the items that I had already paid for. 5 thumbs down.

A lot of new items every month. I love visitng for the end of holiday sales because prices are marked down really low! Customer service is a hit or miss. Either everyone is on point that day ---- or everyone is way off on their manners.

I love shopping here. I am raising four grandchildren on a fixed income. Just a bit more than poverty level so I dont get food stamps. Being able to buy groceries, produce and laundry supplies for 99 cents is a blessing to me.
