NEVER get an animal at Wet Pets & Critters!!! We got a female guinea pig for my daughter at Christmas and had to wait a month for another female for my son (we wanted no babies and to keep both in the same cage to become best friends)......this was to help my kids to learn & play together as they are 8 years apart. The employees (teenagers) did not tell me anything about how to care for guinea pigs when I purchased them, NEITHER TIME; and now we have babies cause we actually ended up with a male. I called the store and the manager told me we have to remove the male from the cage and keep the babies for at least 4 weeks to nurse. Thats ALL the advice she gave me. Oh and that sometimes its hard to tell a female from a male ... REALLY?!?! Arent you supposed to know more than that if you are selling animals? The only reason I went to Wet Pets was because PETCO didnt have females. I Googled guinea pig babies and found more information on the search page than what they told me, plus contradictions of what the manager told me! Needless to say, I will take the advice from Google! The manager called back and said the owner offered to keep the mom and the babies for the four weeks; then they will keep the babies and our male while we wait on another female. THATS IT? First, you would be the LAST place I leave these babies at...just so you can make money off them and not care for the animals...YOURE CRAZY LADY!!! Second, we are already attached to the male and I am not about to take my sons pet away because of your mistake...all I wanted from you was a cage so I could separate the male. Why is that so much to ask for? You want to make money off me but arent willing to offer a suitable cage due to your employees ignorance? Its the pure principle of the matter. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO YOUR STORE!! I should of just waited for PETCO! Not to mention, the store stinks and it was dirty both times I went in. They should close this down for the sake of all the animals!!

I love this place! I have been coming here for years, buying treats for my dog and crickets for my geckos, and they have always been incredibly kind, even when they were busy! And believe me, they get busy. People love to walk into Wet Pets on the weekend and just walk around, likely as not causing mischief. I, at least, understand if I have to wait a minute or two longer than normal, since they have to watch all of the other customers to make sure that none of their animals are being hurt. Also, not only are they incredibly kind, since i have been a regular for so long, they know my usual order by heart! It really makes my time there much easier, if you can imagine. They have several "store pets" like Papi the dog and a beautiful parrot (Billy Bob?) They also love helping out the community, which is why they host Furrever Friends sanctuary dogs! They are also very knowledgeable about several different species of animals, and are always happy to help you pick out the perfect furry friend for you family to love and care for, and although I firmly believe you should adopt rather than by, if your heart is dead-set on buying, then I suggest you buy from Wet Pets. Finally, their prices are much, MUCH, more reasonable than other big name stores, like Petco and PetSmart. Overall, Wet Pets and Critters is an absolutely wonderful establishment, and I cannot BELIEVE that anybody would give them a negative review.

Ive been going to Wet Pets for years. Ive always enjoyed that you can hold the animals before purchasing them. In most other pet stores, you cant do that. You have to ask no matter what. Id much rather be able to do it myself than have to ask 13 times to hold 13 different rodents to check up on their personalities. Ive purchased three hamsters from here and theyve all lived over a year, one lived for three, they were all very sweet, healthy and never bit me (although one only had one eye, no discount, and this wasnt the first time I had come across a one eyed animal in the store). I bought a hamster from another pet store where you couldnt handle them and it was NEVER nice. It bit me every time I went to handle it. I will only buy small animals from here. You should definitely be really careful when buying from this store. I have come across sick and even dead animals. They dont take care of things very well seeing as they mainly have teenagers working. Things usually arent very clean. I applied for a job here in order to clean things up and really take care of the animals and, after my interview, the woman who owns the store thought I was gone and said "that last girl talked with her hands, I would NEVER hire someone like that." So if you talk with your hands and are applying for a job here, youd better hope your interview is with someone LESS RUDE!

I have purchased 2 dogs, 2 cats, a reptile, countless fish, pet food, supplies, etc. from this store over the last 15 years and have had nothing but a wonderful experience every time. All of our new family members were healthy & happy when purchased and are still doing well today. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the owners are exceptionally knowledgeable and it is quite evident that they sincerely care about each and every animal in their store. I would highly recommend this pet store to anyone interested in purchasing a pet or looking for the best quality pet supplies and products. This store is also great for those of us that appreciate doing business with people who truly know, understand, appreciate and can help you with everything that comes with pet ownership.

Today I got to bury a 10 week old kitten I had purchased from Wet Pets & Critters. We knew within 3 days that the kitten was ill and after 8 vet visits we had him tested for feline Leukemia, he was positive. The only way he could have contracted the disease is either from his mother or crate mate. It is clear they sold me a sick kitten knowingly!! The kitten was my 8 yr old sons first pet and he is devastated as is the rest of our family. I called them after the first vet visit to find out where they had acquired the kitten (and to notify them its crate mate was probably also ill) and they were unable to tell me anything about where the kitten had come from!!! I will NEVER set foot in that establishment again and encourage anyone reading this to boycott them.

I am a local resident so with 9 animals i have frequented all the local pet stores often. I will have to say that out of the 2 and now 3 stores Wet Pets and Critters is by far the worst pet store there is. Their prices are high and the animals are sick. There has not been ONE TIME that I have gone to that store that most of there animals are not sick or died. All birds have been sick with sores and/or problems that only a seasoned bird owner will be able to spot and SO socialized that they are tired and cranky. I will under no circumstances do business with them or recommend them to anyone. It very sad to see how poorly the living things in that store are treated.
